I mean, the trailer starts out saying, "The American West is a terrible place in time," which is a bit too self-aware. Then there's all the fucks and holy shits (granted "fuck" is said A LOT on "Deadwood," but people still question if it was used in the same context and to the same degree we do in modern times). But he says "someone's gonna be get fucked up," and yeah, that's definitely modern. It feels very Kung Fu Hustle to me, like I'd said, but people aren't afraid to break with the Blazing Saddles comparison. |

I'm a pretty big fan of westerns and was intrigued to hear Seth MacFarlane was making one. It's more action comedy (was anyone actually expecting something serious out of him?). They released the first red band trailer today, which can be see below. And if you hadn't taken "red band" as enough of a warning the video is NSFW : Feels a little Kung Fu Hustle for me, and seeing as that's one of my favorite movies, I'm actually eager to see this thing. Bomb or not. |
