Tell me about it, my sense of time has been so wacky since working a Tuesday-Saturday schedule.

One of my friends had a party for New Year's Eve which was pretty fun. Finally got to check out VR with PSVR, so that was cool. Played Rez HD and the Resident Evil 7 demo, which did make me nauseous after a bit though.

My Christmas at home was so low-key I spent the last week still feeling like Christmas was on the horizon and was still thinking there were Christmas songs on the radio (of ALL things?!) and time to go see Christmas lights and mail out Christmas cards. I still need to get something for Brandon. I got my parents a membership to the Huntington and bunch of DVDs Dad had been wanting.

My gift haul was a leather bag I'd been wanting (from Brandon) and a set of pajamas and a Target gift card from my parents.

Didn't hear from any other family except a phone call from my Sacramento cousin.

New Year's Eve made a bigger statement in my mind, I guess. Brandon and I met up with some of my co-workers at Grand Park in downtown L.A. and we took in the sights like the projections on the City Hall building counting down, and then the fireworks at midnight.

I'm recovering from the whirlwind that was the Rogue One Launch. Did a slew of events in and out of costume handling and doing press stuff for the Mercs while I was out and about.

Did three families Christmas stuff before getting to finally get home and relax.

I'm looking forward to a quiet few days until new years.

Most of my holiday stuff was on the 18th... Yule party with friends, Xmas party with Kaleb's mom's family... week before that was his dad's family. Christmas Eve I had to work, but Kaleb made steak and lobster for dinner (yay sale prices). Christmas Day we went to his maternal aunt's house... and I was super sick so I felt really bad... we left early because I had a bad case of the chills. It figures that I worked so hard to not get sick during the holiday run that it would hit me on the holiday itself.

Just hung out all day with the family. My nephew is 4 so he gets all the focus and it's fun to watch him. Sister and parents made an excellent full breakfast then a lunch/dinner when they rarely cook haha, it was shocking. The weather here hit 60... um WTF. Strange and fun Christmas all around. Back at home and time for some games.

Merry Christmas all!

So far all we've done is just go out and look at Christmas lights on a few days.

We went to Sleepy Hollow a few nights ago, Naples the next night, did nothing on Friday but lay around in pajamas since we were tired and it was pouring rain. Yesterday we drove out to Riverside to see the Mission Inn all lit up. They had the Gingerbread truck.

No plans for today at all.

I'm not really into festivities so I don't really mind a low key Christmas this year, lol.

We had an ugly sweater day and secret Santa at work today. That's pretty much it for my holiday plans.

I guess at some point we'll try to go over to Riverside to see the Christmas lights on the Mission Inn?

Yeah, I've got nothin'.

Already did things with some family last weekend before they went out of town. So just going to my parents new place (bit more out in the country, kind of nice to get away) and hanging out there for the day. Spent a bit too much on my family and nephew... haha. Got him a big Power Rangers guy and an Iron Man toy too.

So what's everyone doing this weekend?

I've got nothing planned at all. We don't even have a tree up. My parents have been on vacation since the beginning of the month. Still haven't even gotten anything for Brandon.

I have a 32" LG flatscreen (about 4 years old on Christmas), right above my computer and yet I don't bother connecting it.

I need to sort that out and play DKC.

Just doing usual stuff like christmas dinner and sorts. Might watch one of the OFAH specials or something as well.

Really looking forward to Christmas and getting to see the other presents getting opened.

Heck yeah! That's what I do in my room with my 40" heh. Also if you guys have Steam games, you can use Big Picture mode with the TV too.

Hugs all around.

Finally did our annual walking around the Naples area of Long Beach, looking at the lights along the canal.

I did all my Christmas shopping this weekend. It took up my whole paycheck. Got Brandon a new TV, our first flat screen. Let him pick it out himself and I paid for it. Looking forward to hooking it up to the computer and streaming things on it. I've got him a few other things, so at least he has some surprises under the tree.

Got my parents a 7.25-quart Le Creuset Dutch oven. They usually retail for nearly $400, and Amazon has them for $335. Picked mine up at an outlet mall for $240 since it was on sale. Oh man am I looking forward to cooking things in it.

What kind of TV did you get?

Also, dutch ovens are the BEST things on the planet.

So... I guess we are doing a Christmas dinner for the three of us... my mother in law got a prime rib so I finally get to try hers (I've been hearing stories for years). Going to see Star Wars on Christmas Eve since Kaleb has family stuff the next day so he can't revel in heathen movie day with us. Oh well.

I'll consider my new job at Quest a nice present, haha. Good to have money again! Maybe I can get some little things for the family after all.

More cooking utilities and experience is definitely what I need as well.

*hugs* Sorry to hear Rogue.

Christmas was a big deal for my dad's mom whom we lost two years ago to cancer. I'm thinking with all the grandparents I've had passing over the years, might be why my enthusiasm for the holidays has kind of died off as time goes by. That and well... Rogue has an excellent point about some of us without children. That would probably spark things up again.

My grandmother passed right before Christmas after we moved here, so I feel you.

This year seems to be the year of "meh"... no one is really doing anything. My friends here and I are having a little Yule party, but that is about it. Got a few people presents, but otherwise I think this year people are just getting peppermint bark and that is it.

Good grief, this'll be our first Christmas without Lola.

It was heartbreaking enough the one year we were piling up presents in front of her Christmas morning and she was asking why we were doing that. We said it was Christmas. "IT IS?!" she asked, suddenly stricken with depression that she didn't get anyone anything. She was always so generous.

Yeah that makes sense. And the family keeps shrinking with some grandparents passing and families splitting and it just all feels kind of routine now. I don't even have any money this year to get my family much at all, if anything, so that doesn't help much either.

And who likes snow?

Well anyways, I guess my aunt and uncle with my cousins are all coming in this Christmas, so that will be cool.
