Kaleb wore a DBZ shirt... haha. Sounds like something I would do. I wish my friends weren't so lame sometimes and would actually try a little with Halloween, but yeah. Great pic Rogue haha!

Sadly, did nothing. Straight up couldn't tell you when Halloween was... Tuesday? My mom's birthday is at the end of October so we had a family get together on the weekend, but I didn't do anything Halloween wise.

I fucking hate people that act like that. I loved the neighbors that went all out for Halloween, and to have someone wreck their shit because they suck at raising their snot-nosed brat is just annoying.

As for me, I did manage to get the day off work... I spent it cleaning and prepping for yule gifts that I am making. Then we went to my friend's house and watched zombie movies and ate pizza. It was actually really fun because her neighborhood was filled to bursting with trick or treaters and I haven't seen that since I moved here. It actually made me tear up a bit... until they refused to get out of the damn road.

The Friday before, we also went to a Halloween party at the brewery. Kaleb wore a DBZ shirt that looked like Goku's gi and I dressed like a Slytherin (meta costume, since I am a Ravenclaw). It was fun, even though we didn't stay long since I had to work early the next day.

So how did everyone eventually spend Halloween?

Brandon and I took Lee to a few things on Sunday. We did the Halloween stores in Burbank and then did three yard mazes (Spooky Hollows, Rotten Apple, and finally Backwoods.)

Monday we did this new yard maze in Covina that was also quite impressive.

On Tuesday, I threw on my Rockford Peach costume and went to work. I attempted 1940s hair, but it fell apart one hour into working.

We had a Halloween party for the clients, which we had to call a "Harvest Celebration" for legal reasons. Some staff dressed up, most didn't. Meh.

At night, we went to see our friend in Paramount who does an amazing yard display every year. We brought him a six-pack as we traditionally do and we hung out and talked. Some pissed off cholo parent came through, wrecking parts of the display saying he was pissed his kid got scared. He kept yelling, "That bitch doesn't have to go all crazy on them," regarding the COMPLETELY SILENT woman holding a bowl of candy for the kids. She was dressed as a zombie bride and barely speaks English (she and her boyfriend, who was acting like a zombie doctor and acting for the kids around the yard, were visiting from Taiwan.) It's too late, this asshole's already multiplied.

I hate attractions where they rely on such lame means for scares. From what I read, it sounds like last year was done better. Personally, I prefer the no-touch scare attractions because they actually have to work for it.

We ended up going to Fright Night at Kennywood last weekend, since it was the only day we both had off. It was opening night, so that was kinda cool... though I prefer to go in the second or third week of a run when the monsters have really hit their groove but aren't burnt out yet. But it was a good event, got to laugh at a ton of teens running around like crazy and saw one college age guy perform the classic virgin sacrifice of his girlfriend at least twice. So good times.

The one thing they do at Fright Night that was interesting yet a tad annoying in execution is that the first monster you see in every maze is your "ally" and goes over the basic rules... emphasizing "Do not touch them, they will not touch you." As a former monster, I LOVE that they remind you of this in each maze. But I felt it could be done better... some of the mazes they completely break character and say "don't touch the actors"... a few were better, like "don't touch my family" or "don't touch the creatures", so they tried to keep the immersion.

I still cannot wait to be able to go to Knott's Scary Farm or Dark Harbor again, though.

Brandon, Christina, and I went to this Halloween attraction in Fullerton on Friday. You have to sign a waiver so the monsters can touch you.

I'd go over why I mostly disliked it, but then I'd just be restating my Yelp review.

Well, usually my friend hosts a party but she will be out of town this year so I have no idea what I will be doing. I somehow figure that I am going to end up working. At some point during the month though, I would like to go to the local amusement park for their Halloween mazes... it's no where near as good as the stuff in California, but it is fun.

We don't celebrate it the same way you do although the commercialisation seems to be creeping in slowly every year for us...

Not sure what my plans are but I still haven't been to a haunted house haha... we have a bunch of popular ones here in the city though. Might check that out if my friends want to do that.

My parents have a big assortment of costumes and gags, last year I just grabbed a bunch of stuff and threw it on to look silly.

I figured I'd go ahead and start the thread since I'm looking forward to the holiday.

I ended up buying my Halloween costume a couple days ago. My wallet hurts a bit, but at least I won't just be showing up in my faire garb like the last couple years.

My boss apparently bought a $300 Jon Snow costume.
