So I am curious what the thoughts are now that the final trailer is out?

I know exactly what you're talking about with that red guard throne room brawl. As you said, once you see the errors, you can't unsee it. Total slopfest haha.

I might not be totally done with Star Wars... the upcoming game Fallen Jedi is looking promising and with new characters, I might be back on board. But it's still milking the Revenge of the Sith / OT era material... I hope they get away from that stuff someday. There's an endless universe to work with here.

I'm watching it for sure, if only to complete the trilogy. They're going to have to score big in the action department to win the fans back, admittedly. I've enjoyed all of the releases the recent years have brought, but their cinematography and writing needs a lot of work for it to do well. If Boba Fett crawls out of the Sarlacc and plays some part in the movie (I think the overall theme of this one is that the dead baddies aren't dead), the previously spurned fans will lose their collective shit.

Seriously, people can knock the prequels all they want, but at least George did some great world building from a visual standpoint.

The Sequel Trilogy? Hey look we're back on Tatooine or some desert planet... again.
Death Star 3.0
The Empire looks the same, still
Was that Endor again somewhere?
Here's Hoth 2.0 with specks of red dust
Millennium Falcon!
Like most modern films, we forgot what color is

Visually, the ST has no personality/identity at all.

I agree with all of this, and I truthfully feel as though the original spirit of Star Wars will never be created again with Lucas (and after this film, John Williams) out of the picture. That said, I feel there's a certain charm to the new films. They were still fun, despite treading familiar territory.

While the two new lightsaber-wielders are hit-and-miss, their awkwardness has a weird chemistry. I feel like both of the characters are pretty weak when they're off doing separate things, but when they're in the same room/scene (omitting the infamous Swolo scene), that's when it starts to seem like all of the studio suddenly gets it, except for the choreographer. Fuck that guy.

Then again, the terrible choreography could be due to the haste of production. I can see where that can get screwy, but still -- the throne room scene looked cool at first, but there were just so many things wrong with it. I know you're not supposed to watch a movie in slow-motion, but it's kind of like one of those "once you see it" moments. I much prefer the "dancing" of the prequel trilogy, at least they did their scenes with some control. I can write off Rey and Kylo's bad unorthodox saber skills as them having literally nobody to spar with beforehand, but the little things piled up quickly. Now, I don't hate this scene, it happens to be one of my favorites -- I just see so much wasted potential and it hurts that it'll never be fixed, and that's how I'll always remember it. NOT THE SABER SCENES, MAN! NOT THE SABER SCENES!

Yeah I did pickup Rogue One once it released on video. Overall it might be my favorite of the Disney era so far, although character wise I thought it was pretty weak. Not sure I could name a single character anymore already.

Solo was disappointing as a Star Wars film, but entertaining over all. I actually enjoyed Rogue One, though.

I hate Rey and Kylo.

Probably skipping it, like I did Solo and Rogue One.

Sorry...

I am really looking forward to this film. It made me super happy to see Lando finally making an appearance in the new trilogy.

More info's getting dropped at Celebration in Chicago every moment.

I've already watched the teaser an absurd number of times.
