All I will say is start saving your rent money now, apartments are not cheap.
But yeah, both my parents get like that, gods I want to strangle them. So yeah, I myself continue with the "two more years" chant as well. |

Just let her have her little rant and then leave it at that. If you fight back it could make things worse. I've had fights with my Dad, but no intense ones, maybe he will yell at me for not taking the washing out, or coming home late, but that's about all. He usually leaves me and my sister alone to do what we want. |

To the problem. I'm sure your parents have complained about you having a bad attitude with them. Well, my mother is constantly accusing me of having that bad attitude, and I've only discovered one constant amongst all the times she says that. I disagree with her. She never gives me a chance to explain WHY I disagree, instead she always interrupts me. Then when I try to finish, she gets mad at me for having a (quote from today, when this happened) "holier than thou attitude" with her. Ah, of course, NOW I get it! I should just agree with everything she says, no matter how fucking stupid it is; no matter how much my moral principles or, hell, simple logic says that it's wrong. 
Only two more years, only two more years, only two more years, only two more years... This is, in fact, the only thing keeping me from commenting on her position on the Michael Jackson case. She seems convinced he's guilty, which I don't disagree with, but she hasn't even seen any evidence in his defense or any against him. |
