That's funny because it's happened to me atleast twice. When I read vol. 1 of Angelic Layer, that was the first Clamp manga I have ever gotten into. Since then I've been addicted to clamp ever since my first encounter with Magic Knights Rayearth. But it took me FOREVER to get vol. 2, 3, 4, AND 5 of Angelic Layer. I wanted it that bad that I would save up everyday and go to the book store. Then I noticed that I needed something to eat more than that. So I spent all my money on food. Finally I got 2, 3, and 4 for Christmas. All that was left was 5 so I read it in stores. That wasn't fair though. I didn't have it. So one day I said "Tought stomach" and bought vol. 5.

Then there was Furuba(Fruits Basket) I got into that borrowing the first Dvd so I bought the rest. T_T I still need vol. 1.

Most series that I have seen I've gotten like that. Hokuto no Ken, Naruto, Full Metal Alchemist, Chrno Crusade... drove me crazy until I saw the next episode! I still need to see the last two of Chrno Crusade, I need closure dammit!

The Kenshin movie did the same thing to me, as did the Magic Knight Rayearth mangas... I want more!

I guess it depends. There's a few expections of just plain out "bad" animes and manga's out there that'll just make you do the opposite, and not want to see anymore.

X the series for example, it just didn't grab my attention.

For me Shonen's usually get me pretty interested, since there's a lot of main character development and long plots in those, like; Naruto, Bleach, Kenshin, etc.

But yeah, anime's and manga's are like a drug to me personally, if I start with something, unless it's horrible, I won't be stopping until I'm done with it.

I also read Tsubasa: Resevoir Chronicle and it was pretty good. It had that kinda feeling with the connection between the main character and the girl, yes it was very "heart pounding"

When I read Tsubasa: reservoir chronicle for the first time it was like that. It's one of the few action/romantic series that i really like now. Geneshaft, a cool space epic, was shown very little on Tech TV and i only saw one episode, but it had such great music and reminded me of Star Trek so it really caught my attention. That has to be among the rarest series ever, and is even worse for the soundtrack.

i think you should rephrase the question... "ever happened" well, of course it happened. but you should ask, if it's happened to you a lot. anyways.... it would depend on which ep i saw because most ep 1's don't make any sense, or is too dramatic when it's supposed to be a comedy (full metal panic). or too puzzling. when i watch something, i always watch somewhere in the middle to get a whiff of it

I've noticed something, not long ago....

I would watch a certain anime or read a certain manga, I would be left extremly willing to see the rest of the serie. This would leave a similar effect to an heart pounding (well, praticly it was).

So yeah, ever happened to you?
(^this is the question)
