Oh my God...I made this thread? bad memories....*Snaps* <-v.v-> ;;;
Alot of the same animes that was directed by Shinichiro has to have either a charactistic of Spike, (I.e Wolf's Rain) or a Voice actor that resembled spike...I dont know any other anime characters, but I knw there are some... |

I never said there similarities were a bad thing.
Not only do they both share the same director, but Spike and Mugen have the same voice actor as well. (Which is sometimes obvious.) |

ive been reading this thread, and alot of u r saying that Champloo and Bebop r waay too similar. there is a reason for that, the director and creator of Bebop (Shinichiro Watanabe) also created Champloo. Mugen and Spike r very similar considering their physical build, yet uncanny fighting skills. Watanabe wanted Spike to be a Bruce Lee type character (because they r both smallish yet pack a mean ass punch). btw Mugens fighting style is called Champloo Kempo (which means "mixed fighting" literally). also i love this anime. |

Psst....That bump sucked.
Here's something to think about: Sunflowers don't have a scent......Dun Dun Dun. Champloo definately has some memorable funny parts in it. Like the homosexual innuendo firefly discussion in the hot tub. |

I adore the fact that people, before this show came out, were all "UGH RAP BLOWS ITS SO DUMB LOLZORS METALROCKCORE4EVA" and now that its out theyr'e all "Sup G? Home floppy on the good rock, ya mean?" this seriously happened! My cousin likes rap now because this show "coolified" it for him. |

They aren't cancelling Samurai Champloo, at least what I heard was that they're switching comedy onto sunday's and action onto weekdays. So we'll get to see it every night?
I hope to god thats true and I heard that right. This show rules too hard to get cancelled. I love the opening theme... |

Who knows really? Because basically the really short series like Magical Shopping Arcade manga came out in two graphic novels as well and guess what. They're both out, and it didn't even take that long. then you have other series like Magic Knights Rayearth. They came out in two series. The first one was about three books long. But the ORIGINAL series stuff where a mutiple of like two page books. Yes it took FOREVER for .HACK Legend of the Twilight #3 to come out. I remember reading it and slamming it into a wall.
DAMN ENDINGS WITH NO ENDINGS!!! But then I hope it wouldn't be like that. I don't like really lame endings. Samurai Champloo's not that long of a series in manga. |

Need i remind everyone about the LONG time it took to make .HACK "Twilight" Vol. 3 took 1 1/2 YEARS to make...however it was pretty thick though....
So what im saying, it might not come out in November, in fact, it may come out Next year, by that time i'd have all the DVD's Hopefully |

Champloo's awesome. I love the fact that they made Fuu have a flying squirrel. XD It's just so neat. almost like that one manga about the girl after the actors stuff. XD
no wait... CHAMPLOO'S BETTER! No cheesy stuffs. |

I like the way it progresses, no doubt. I'm a big fan of the way that BONES often does that in just about every series they produce. They did it in Bebop, Wolf's Rain, and Champloo. I'm not saying don't watch it, like I said, I watch it I just don't watch it for the plot.
Characters: I LOVE the way the characters are drawn, but they're actually cliche. Mugen is your normal "I'm an ass" samurai (much like Sanosuke and Inuyasha) and Jin is your norm of the cool-headed samurai/japanese guy (i.e. Kenshin, Miroku, and others). I think that's the only other thing that kind of peeves me off, but I do like Champloo, and I'm not telling people not to watch it. |

Samurai Champloo is pretty sweet, but it does borrow heavily from old Samurai films of yesteryear. While Samurai 7 is clearly the Seven Samurai (great, if long, movie) Samurai Champloo is like Yojimbo and Sanjuro (also great movies). Even in the last 2 episodes Jin is referred to as "Bodyguard" which is the name of Toshiro Mifune's character in Yojimbo. Also check the plots with aforemented movie, very parallel. Don't get me wrong though, Samurai Champloo kicks massive ass. Go stay up late watching it. |

Originally posted by Xeomega Samurai 7 has a cool story in the beginning but I didn't like how it ended. Plus I thought Champloo was set in a cooler world than Samurai 7, but it does have some really good action sequences that is worth watching. They just kill of way to many of the characters in the final episodes which I didn't like. It was like one after another which I thought wasn't necessary. |

I really couldn't have said it any better than Shinobi right there, he's right on.
But Yuzukichi, if you're really looking for more of a solid on-going plot with Samurai's, I'd recommend Samurai 7. It's more of one big storyline, unlike the style of Bebop and Champloo. Thing is, I've heard that Samarai 7 kind of loses it's touch towards the end, it just gets bad or something. |
