I seriously hope so.

On top of all this my manager doesn't seem that professional, I've had to call in almost everyday to see when I'm working, since he hasn't given me a schedule or anything like that.

And it seems I'm working again today.

I can already say my summers going to be very limited now, it seems.

On a side note: How high up is a CSA? This guy acts as if he's the manager of the place at times ...

There are much better jobs out there Xeo. I was a laborer for four years and now have seen the light. Right now I'm working 7-4 everyday, behind a computer updating drawings and browsing the internet on down time, and make 9 an hour. So things will get better, I hated my previous job as a laborer, so hopefully you find something more suiting for you.

Well hopefully I'll 'move up' in a couple of weeks or something, and start doing other things compared to what I am doing now.

Curtosies just suck. I am the dog of the work at my job right now. I've noticed some other people almost do nothing but greet customers, even though I'm somewhat shy at times, I'm sure I'd much rather do that than what I'm doing now.

So, I hope I move up by the end of summer or something ...

But yeah, I probably won't be quitting, but I probably will lookout for a new job in 4 months when I turn 18, since there'll be more opportunities.

Well I hope it gets better for you maybe its still rough because you just started and your still learninig everything and it will eventually sink into you. I know thats what it was like for me when I started working.

I agree with Zabuza though you don't want to leave on bad terms it will look bad on you and your next interview they might ask you why you left so early. At least your making a lot more than I did since you have told me before what your hourly wage is. I bet it will get better for you in the next week or so. Just give it some time and try to hang in there. I know its not fun but hey making money is never fun and not knowing anything about cars (like myself) that would make it a lot more misereable to.

I have no sympathy for you. I'm just happy that you've finally realized that work is not a walk in the park. Most job (actually all of them) aren't meant to be fun. You should have a degree of enjoyment, but work is work. [EDITED FOR SECURITY REASONS.]

It might be best not to quit right away. It will hurt you looking for jobs in the future. Potential employers don't like to see that you've moved around too many times, or that you didn't stay for longer than a month...it conveys a feeling of flakiness. It's also not good to spend more than 5 to 10 years on one job, it shows that you're afraid of change.

So I worked from 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM today.

And it sucked. I can't stand this job.

On top of all this I know absolutely nothing about cars, you think that helps while working with cars?

Sure it's work, but it bugs me that people out there are doing simple things and could be getting even more money. I'd much rather sit behind a desk, for 7-8 hours and hand kids candy bars. Sure, that would make me happy, even if I made less money I could easily put in more hours to doing that. Not constantly moving around and doing tons of crap.

I'm going to look for another job, seirously. Maybe Quicktrip since I have a few friends there, and they're even making 50 cents more than me, whild doing what? Handing kids candy bars?

Fuck this shit.

I'm not trying to get you people to feel sorry for me, don't. I'm just letting you know how I feel about this job. It sucks, and I hate it.

Yep.

Welcome to the working world. It only gets better from here on out, and that's sarcasm.

So you're a minion, it happens, and it stays forever. [EDITED FOR SECURITY REASONS]

When I worked for Disney, it was about the same. TSA, same thing, but with more authority. This is the working world. If you want stuff, you need money. And, if parents won't support ya, there's work. Just suck it up and live it down.

Trust me, the real world isn't meant to be fun. One does have to work to earn their money. [EDITED FOR SECURITY REASONS]

So, today was officially my first real day.

And it absolutly sucked

Here's what I had to put up with:
- People constantly yelling at me and ordering me around
- Taking out the trash constantly
- Constantly checking tires for air pressure, then either filling them up or taking out air
- Constantly washing windows
- Constantly vacuuming the insides of the cars
- Constantly being called a "minion"
- Constantly driving cars in and out of the bay's

And I mean, constantly. I'd turn around, BOOM there's another car that needs curtosies done to it, BOOM there's another, BOOM BOOM BOOM!

On top of that, one of my damn toes is killing me. Then I looked at it when I got home and it looks like there's literally a rock in it, so it's swelling up ... think that was fun to walk around on?

And I got home at 2:15, and no I never had a break so I just recently got done with lunch (it's 2:35 now).

If I am not happy with my paycheck, then you can seriously forget it (they can).

I guess I can suffer for 4 more months, eh? Yeah, once I'm 18 screw this.

No, it was not fun. =(

That just means you'll learn the insides and outs about stuff under the hood of a car that is way more than anything I'd like to know. As long as my car runs, and gets me to where I need to go without probs, I'm good.

Orientation sounded fun. [EDITED FOR SECURITY REASONS]

Congrats on the job!

I found out yesterday that I got a job at the YMCA as a day camp counselor, definitely. They extended me the job offer. I have to fill out paperwork this week, then I have 2 weekends of training, then day camp starts on June 27. Needless to say, I'm a bit nervous. But it should be fun.

Orientation sounded pretty kickass...and you got paid! Not to shabby. And there's nothing wrong with wanting to remain a bum.... **whistles** Teehee.

Well I had orientation all day yesterday (9:00 AM to 5:00 PM), and now I know the meaning to "Paperwork".

Luckily our teacher was quite a goof, and cussing left and right and cracking good jokes, it wasn't all that bad. And it was pretty good to be getting paid during that time.
He was throwing booklets at us, then they were the wrong ones. When someone pointed that out, the teacher went into a back room and all we heard was "Ohhh, Shit". Man it was great.

I felt out of place when there were about 20 people there, and myself and I think 3 others were the only people there who didn't smoke.

But yeah, I go in Thursday to train at my place a bit, then I start Friday.

I'm excited, for money, then another part of me wants to remain as a bum.

Right now I run my house and have the kids all the time...dun get paid really, but my sisters and I worked it out. They make enough money to help pay for school so meh...

Anywho...Kickass on getting that job Xeo. I remember talking to you about it online a little bit a while ago and you saying you were applying for it or something. That's nuts that your friend is a manager though....kickass too. And hey, most people might not like Jiffy Lube and with good reason...but hey...you're making nice money and you've got nothing to do with the discrepancies that people have about it. Woot!!

I'll get a pay raise of 2% or 3% after three months. Right now I get paid $7.25/hour, so all is good. ^-^

Well, very good. I have to get an oil change for Jack, but Wal-Mart is as good as he gets right now. I can never make his appointments with the usual mechanic. And, Wal-Mart always brings the temptation of buying things that I don't need.

Didn't like Jiffy Lube the last time I had Jack serviced, but good job nonetheless. Usually, most places don't provide a raise until after six months to a year. Disneyland was about a year.

But from unemployment, I'm making about $600 every two weeks doing just the usual job hunt and going to school. Meh.

Yep. Doin' the lube.

But yeah, it must be different around other states or something then, most places have a minimum wage of about $6 around here, for my age at least.

I do know however you get a raise after 3 months at Jiffy Lube, which to me doesn't seem like that much of a wait, but I'm not complaining.

Congrats on the job, but considering my starting salary with Disneyland, your pay is actually pretty low based on California salaries. But, then, minimum wage in Cali is pretty low too. I started at $7.90 with Disney, left at $8.90. Started at $13.75 with the Government, left at $16.25. Started and ended at Tower for $8.00. I freelance computer junk for about $20/hour at minimum.

But, good job anyway. Have fun lubing cars.
