Sorry for the late arrival, I made my excuses in the Debate Tournament thread.
Though this does go against what I actually believe in, I'll still go with the side issued to me. Guns should be legal so long as they are issued to people who are capable of handeling them. Organization of this may prove to be difficult, as guns can be sold to anyone due to the statement in the Constitution saying so. Guns may be called inhumane, messy, and may do more damage than needed, but the reason for a gun is exactly that; to do damage and to get the job done. In the correct hands, they can prove very useful in order to stop another from getting away with something valuable, or overpowering someone who is at a natural advantage. Nobody really wants to be taken advantage of, and guns keep a fair balance between the strong and the weak. They put most people on a fair playing ground; guns even out the score so each man is of an equal strength. Thats what I've got for now. Ha... harder than I thought it'd be... |

Wait, why do I have to disagree?
That seems pretty arbitrary... Anyway, yeah, guns are ok for self-defence, but the idea there isn't really to actually fire the gun, it would be more of a deterrant... I mean, even if the gun isn't loaded, someone robbing you isn't going to know that, and chances are they aren't going to take that chance... Which side am I debating for again? |

These two will debate about whther or not people should be allowed to posses guns, as they can be used to kill. X will disagree with guns, and Johnny will agree with them. |
