Heh good luck. I find almost all horror movies hilarious, if anything. If you find anything though, let me know, dude. I'm in the same boat as you.

EventHorizon was a pretty good movie, I liked it. A movie that really creeped me out just for the facet that it can really happen was White Noise. You can actually do the EVP stuff. Its really creepy. The Ring 2 did suck.. it wasn't that good. Another movie I didnt thing was that good was The Darkness.. that was stupid. But I dunno you might like it, its like has something to do with a dark ritual or something. One more movie that kinda freaked me a bit a few years ago was 13 Ghosts.. thats a trippy movie.

Actually there is a bit of difference between The Ring versus Ringu. It's not very big, but the father is psychic. Also, I just find the acting better.

Don't bother with the Ring 2, it sucks.

I didn't find Silence of the Lambs remotely scary. Interesting, but not scary. Where the hell do you find a copy of Nosferatu? I want to see that!!

Phantasm was released in the 70's...
The 80's were a horrible time for pop horror classics.
Most major horror releases were durring the 1970's.

If you like psychological-horror, then I would highly recommend such movies as Silence of the Lambs, Seven, and The Shining.
Or, if you want to feel real nostalgic, check out the original Nosferatu. One of my personal favorites.

And one thing I hate more than anything is when people say they like the original Japanese version of The Grudge and The Ring more so than the American.
They are the same damn thing. Look at the credits...
The original creators of both movies created both versions...
They simply came and used american filmography/acting to attract a different crowd and finance a more visually appealing movie.

Hence why it's a movie.
If you don't care about the visuals and just want an attractive story, go read a fucking book...

Honestly, todays horror movies suck. I don't think they compare to the ones back in the 80's. Those were some horrifying movies. I have a recommended movie for you to watch- "Phantasm". If that's the name of it. It was the only movie to ever scare my dad. A lot of people can agree that it is very scary.

Event Horizon is a bit creepy... little gore in it as well, but it's more the whole idea of it that I find creepy.

I'm pretty sure that the original Japanese version of The Grudge is much better, I know it was the case with The Ring vs. Ringu.

I don't know what particular type of horror you'd consider it, but one of the only movies to ever really creep me out was Pet Cemetary. So yeah, there is always that.

I need some!

I'd like to watch something terrifyingly scary, as funny as it may sound.

But here's the deal, I've seen a lot of stupid movies in my time. Recently I saw The Grudge, and didn't know what to think of it. The only thing that kind of "freaked" me out a bit, was the sound that the female zombie / ghost made, which can be made by anyone if they tried.

Other than that though, that movie sucked, hard. It seemed retarded more than anything else.

I hear the original Japanese version of the movie / story is much better though, maybe I should check that out? I mean, the style of spook-ness the Grudge had going for itself is the kind of stuff I like, like Fatal Frame. That stuff scares the crap out of me, The Grudge just failed to make any sense in anything at all.

So yeah, if anyone has played the Fatal Frame stuff, that's the kind of stuff that gets me. Stuff that makes you think, and wonder.

Stuff like Silent Hill, doesn't spook me a bit, just makes me want to puke.

So, any suggestions?

Edit: Please don't recommened any Horror / Slasher movies, in my opinion, those just suck.

And I'm not much of a zombie-movie fan either. 28 Days Later? Yeah, didn't enjoy it a bit.
