same reason why I never bring electronics with me when flying...alot of my friends have made the mistake by putting computers in their luggage and finding them at their destination with so far, bent towers, some how COKE was spilled in them (There was a coke can INSIDE the tower...), split wires that connects to the HD, and several other stupid reasons I dare not mention...And people tell them the same thing you said Zabuza.

I would rather take a bus. Sure its slower and booring, but its cheaper and you can take your valuables alot easier on the bus rather than hyaving to go through bus security like on airports...

Understand this:

Luggage is meant to be abused. It's abused when it's being manufactured to ensure that it can withstand being in a travel environment. If you choose to spend $1500 on some Louis Vuitton bag (ugly brown craps) because you want to show off your money, then fine. Just understand that your $1500 investment might be returned to you with a cut-off lock, possibly a zipper tab or two missing, and maybe a few dents, tears, scratches or other things. It's luggage, for gosh sakes.

What do you think happens to your bags? Did you think they were pampered by the airline? NO!

They are stacked in rows and piles after you drop them off. They fall off conveyors into bigger bins of other luggage. They get moved all over the airport only to be stacked into an airplane's cargo hold for a flight. They shift and bend under the combined weights of G-forces and other luggage. They arrive at your destination only to be jostled around again a few more times until they reach you.

Hell, what TSA does to it is so menial, it can't even amount to the stress your bag undergoes. It is luggage, it is meant to be able to withstand the inherent stresses of travel. If it can't do that, then it shouldn't be travelling. And, if it's valuable and breakable and fits in carry-on, TAKE IT WITH YOU!

If not, ship it to where you're going, or pack it really well so that TSA doesn't have to accidentally break it. Even though, if the package is too good that TSA can't inspect, then it will be removed for inspection and repacked.

Luggage is luggage. Deal with it. Quit blaming the TSA for your airline's stupid faults.

Thats the EXACT reason why I dont fly on airplnes...because somewhere along those lines...there may be a hobo hiding in one of those bags...

Nah but for real, that just goes to show that people dont get paid enough to organize those bags...

**nods** True. Which is why whenever I had anything "valuable" with me when I travel, I always keep it with me. **shrugs**

To an extent I can understand people at airports and such, to not be able to keep people's bags in like mint condition. A shit load of people travel...:p

It is true that baggage handlers are called throwers. This picture has nothing to do with that.

These bags do make it to their flight on time. If not, they're on the next flight.

Wouldn't be a big loss. One Xbox 360 doesn't matter. The guy that owns it would be pissed, but it's his fault for bieng so trusting and naive. Like Megaman, he would be. Now, if there was a piece of Omega glass, that was worth lots, and is the only one of it's kind so far, and it has the ability to cure cancer, AIDs, and even the common fucking cold, and multiply under blue lights, then maybe it'd be a drag. Since our medical salvation would have been crushed.

...since, it has to be in it's original "Bowl" shape in order to work effectiveley. Yeah.

Shame for those people though. I was pretty wary even when I went on the bus with my Xbox in the bottom (for all I knew, this guy could have been an ex-'thrower', good thing he knew how to place things, not hurl them), but I heard of stuff like this. Looks kinda funny, actually, that mountain of bags. Luckily my stuff came out okay, when I went flying to Vancouver. A dog came out of where all the bags come from, and was just sitting there on the side, waiting for it's owner.

Wow. Yeah seriously, I hope there wasn't an Xbox 360 in there.

That just makes me avoid travelling on a plane even more. I've heard horror stories. They actually call those guys, that put your baggage on the plane, throwers.

Wow, well I'm not sure I'm ever going to be traveling at LAX anymore...or any airport just to be safe. Do those bags eventually get to their owners?

There have been many a time when flights back up, and we weren't able to keep up with feeding them through the X-ray machine. But, people still have to drop off their bags and blissfully go on to their planes. Sometimes we (by we I mean me) made forts out of the bags, or just stacked them up as a big wall. Then, there was the faster way when everyone just threw bags on top of each other. Hence, this photo, courtesy of LAX baggage check:

Image hosted by A million bags on a million miles of conveyor belts.

Notice that the pile of bags stands taller than the X-ray machines. In a way, I'm glad I'm no longer there; but I do want to go back and help. I just love the X-ray machines. But, it is Christmas' fault. Hundreds of people and thousands of bags.

I hope there isn't an XBOX 360 or something valuable in those squishy middle bags. Or the bottom bags.
