I work in an office about the size of my living room (around 20 ft x 15 ft x 9 ft).
It's not too bad, though even when I'm not on the clock (since my office is also where I hang out and most of my classes are next door), my boss asks me to do things like make copies, putting papers in order, picking up mail from the mail room across campus, and whatnot. And on the paper's production days, when the editors are putting the pages together, I end up saddled with doing a few people's pages despite the fact that I'm really not supposed to be doing that. It's like the other day when I had plans to meet Zabuza for lunch as I was heading out the door, my boss chases me down and hands me some things he wanted copied for the editor-in-chief, who was standing right there. What annoyed me more about this was the ed-in-chief also has a job there, she gets paid twice the hours I get (since she somehow convinced the school that she's so poor, she needs to be in the work-study program) and she's not even there a quarter of the time I'm there. She can make her own copies. The copier is flippin' right down the hall. The editors have been complaining that she's never around. Anyway, the positives of my job have been that I can make my own hours, there isn't that much work to do that isn't on a production day, I can surf the web on our T3 connection all I want, I still get a lot of experience for the jobs I'm looking for. I also get invited to go to certain events for free on press passes, receive promotional CDs and DVDs and so on. |

I go to school with DRTY_JOO and Trigger Happy...( All 3 of us are Seniors )...Our school is known as The Performance Learning Center...A place to where students who are serious about learning can come here for many things
-Catch up on school work -Graduate early -Summer School Im into the program because the faculty can help students on their weakness on school subjects by following a very retarded program called NOVANET. Class sizes are extremely small, no more than 12 students allowed per class... Me, Trigger, and DRTY_JOO are the only senior males there...people ask us for work all the freaking time...But seen how were seniors, we practicially rule the school. Teachers are great here... Mr. Marino- This dude is crazy, he is a genious but has a mind of a 5 year old...Its hard to explain his personality unless you meet him in person. Mr. Yielding- Like an archaiac poet. He always uses an expansive vocabulary that most of the students dont even know, hes an extremely good teacher, and Hes my Mentor. I look up to him Mrs. Kendall- Jocular and very friendly... Mrs. Pool- Very quiet and friendly, dosent really talk much... And Finally Mr. Ward- Buisness man...The students are somewhat oblivious to his lessons and often cuts them waaay too much slack... Thats all my teachers there, right now I only have Mr. Marino for 3 hours and then im free to go...However once im dont with marino, I spend the rest of the day playing Diablo 2 on the school's computers and posting here... |

Yeah, I've seen threads about school a lot, such as what kind of classes do people take, schedules, or something like that.
Well, I just wanna know, what is your school/work like? Is it a place you like to be? Is it a large building? Small? **shrugs** Little details like that. I personally like my school, except for last week, when I was on crutches. It just seems sooooo much bigger when you have to cart your butt around like that. :p It's a pretty big building though, with three floors. It's rectangular shaped, with the front and back hallways being the longer ones and the side halls being about half the other two(?) The third floor is a bit different though. The first two connect all the way around, but the third floor is separated. I know I'm mostlikely not making sense here, so I'll just try and find a picture of it another time. Or maybe Xeios will post one. As far as the faculty is concerned...I have only had one teacher that I couldn't stand. The others I really liked. There are also a lot of people that even though I haven't had them as teachers(Some of them are staff, so they aren't teachers anyway), but I still love them anyway. Though I bitch about school just like any other kid, I actually like my school a lot too. So yeah...more I could say, I just won't right now. :p |
