All right, supposedly all these questions will be answered today.
A Livejournal friend posted that the sequel, which will be going into production early next year, will be entitled, The Dark Knight and will feature the Joker as played by... yes, it's unfortunate, but Heath Ledger. I suppose since we can't control it, there's no use sweating it. You never know... all that work on Roar (man I miss that show), 10 Things I Hate About You, A Knight's Tale, The Patriot, Brokeback Mountain and all his other less prevalent flicks might have been the right training to play a psychotic clown who fell into a vat of acid. EDIT: Article that was just posted about it: http://www.comingsoon.net/news.php?id=15774 |

Well after looking around a bit, a few sites who usually have all their facts right are referencing this article as fact, but are saying that they are holding for confirmation.
Looking over the movie's IMDb.com entry, aside from Bruce Wayne, Alfred, Gordon and Lucius Fox, everything is still up in the air, including the name. No guarantees, but people in the forums are already arguing (to the death, it seems) over who they feel should be Joker. Mark Hamill would be an amusing choice, but more of a novelty to people who've watched the cartoons. He is an excellent character actor, that Cock Knocker. |

I think Mark Hammil would seriously be amazing. Its been forever since he's been in a big role, and with the voice and everything it would just be legendary.
Brandon Roth? Didn't he play the new Superman? I'd rather he do this than Heath Ledger. Seriously, Heath Ledger ... just ... NOOOOOOOO! |

I hope they are not serious... I don't think he could do the role any justice at all. Mark Hamill would be awesome for the role since he's done it for the cartoons for so long and did an excellent job.
This is almost as bad as the live action Drizzt Do'Urden movie rumors. |

I honestly think he looks horrible for the part. And I can't see him acting it.
Hell, I'd rather they bring back Jack Nicolson than this ... |

Mark Hamil...**blinks**
Hmmm... **blinks again** I suppose I'd be okay with Heath Ledger...I mean, in all honesty, The Joker is wearing a lot of makeup anyways, so I don't think it would really matter too much if someone "looked" the part. With the stuff we have today, they could make just about anyone "look" a part. |

dammit...i was hoping it would be mark hamil. i loved him as the joker in all the cartoons (he has an extensive voice acting career) |

...
Who in their right mind would put him as the joker? I was hoping that Robin William would make it, but Heath Ledger? I didn't even think of him it was so far off... Seriously, can you really see this guy as a psychopaathic villian dedicated towards villiany? |

I'm not quite sure on the authenticity, especially since this almost reeks of rumor, but here's the article. Discuss.
Still unclear on if he took the part or not. Article Originally posted by LatinoReview.com |
