"Do not bite the hand that feeds you."

I know what I'm talking about.

When I was a paper carrier, I had many annoyingass customers. I had Feline Mint, an old lady who had like 12 cats and enough mints to bury me alive.

There was Neglectant Dad, who (by accident was loud enough for me to hear) told his 3-4 year old son that he wasn't home.

Also there was Generic Old People, the Poodle of Demonicness, and a lot of disgruntled soccer moms.

*sigh* The good times, eh fellas?

It was funny because my friends and I were watching Waiting a few days ago (great movie by the way), and we just couldn't help but keep cracking jokes and relate to how real those situations were. Customers are like that, and its just sad. And as my other friends said, really in any kind of job dealing with customers, we'll have to put up with this crap.

"Don't fuck with the people who make your food", could probably be said for just about everything.

Haven't had a real job yet persay, but I had kids all the time. Thing is, when I say in charge, I was in charge. From the moment I was done school, I had to pick up the babies from my sister's, so she could go to work, pick up the rest of the kids from school, do the whole afternoon activities with them, make sure they had their homework done, made sure they were fed, their clothes were washed, did the whole PTA meatings with them...yeah...5 nieces and three nephews at the time (one more niece is on the way) Considering there were so many children though, I can tell you guys a million stories. Kids are sooo unpredictable. But, that's what they are. Kids. Grant it, my oldest is now 13...but anywho...the funny thing was going to the PTA meetings and seeing parents that were worse than the kids...yeah...

So I know where the rest of you guys are getting at though. Only difference is mine wasn't really a job, but responsibility and dealing with stupid situations was still there.

I used to work at a chevron. During hurricane Katrina when gas prices were ridiculous (you know, just slightly less than they are now?) and i cannot tell you how often i would have this conversation with people (so often that i had to get a prop):

Douche: excuse me! I paid for my gas and i put it in and my gas gauge dosent show any differance!!! I need a refund (or some other thing i cant do)

Me: sir...how much did you pay for?

Douche: Ten dollars! I spent ten dollars and pumped and nothing happened bla bla bla

Me: (cutting him off only slightly rudely) sir how large is your tank?

Douche: 15 gallons, why do you care you couldnt fill bla bla bla bla bla

Me: (gently cutting him off again) sir you bought approximatly this much gas (places three Xtra large soda cups on the counter) the reason it wasnt regestering (at this point my voice gets progressivly subtly lower as i start rambling) is because george bush drank all your oil to sustain his heart which is an internal combustion engine the size of 4 endors and it beams energy to him from saturn....ramble ramble

Douche: what?

Me: (louder than normal voice) which is why it isnt showing up on your feul meter!

(at this point they usually wander away confused as to why my cooworkers are giggling at them)

I work(more like the people just tell me to work when I need to, because my parents own it) at a Chinese Restaurant that seems to be fairly popular among people in the town I live in and some of the surrounding towns, too. Every now and then, we get some pretty stupid people. ng

Every now and then, someone will either A)walk in or B)call in to ask if we have a buffet. First, isn't a Restuarant and a Buffet different? We've named our restaurant a restaurant and not a buffet. And for the people that walk in, the place isn't that big, as in you can probably see the whole entire dining room when you walk in. And as far as I know, unless they did some hardcore expansion and remodeling overnight, we don't have a buffet anywhere.

Almost daily, we get this weird, fat, hobo-like guy(the workers and I labeled him as "crazy man" in Cantonese). He would call in to order, then eat in. He orders Ice Coffee and some meals(for example, 2 days ago, he ordered a BLB, which is apparently a Bacon-Lettuce-Bacon. He said to leave out the fries and get an extra roll. A plate of fries costs a bit more than an extra dinner roll, so he ended up losing more money). He talks with EVERYONE. He usually asks a question to you and then continues to discuss on it, so you are almost forced to talk to him. It's kinda annoying to listen to him talk, so I usually hide out in the kitchen to pack orders. What's worse about him is that he falls asleep at the restaurant, so we have to wake him up, and it's kinda embarrassing for the people who work there.

Two people walked out of the Sheetz I worked at, husband and wife probably.

Woman (to her husband): Someone needs to put a wet floor cone on that floor.
Me, sweeping the sidewalk: I'd appreciate you not telling me how to do my job, especially when there is a cone there. (and there was, too.)
Woman: It needs to be more visible.
Me: It's in the middle of the floor, how much more visible do you want?
Woman, walking to her car: I'm going to call the manager about this.
Me: And say what, that I'm doing my job correctly and you just can't see it?
Woman: Don't get smart.
Me, returning to sweeping: One of us needs to.

So yeah, I've dealt with the idiots too.

There's also this one, keep in mind that Sheetz is a gas station. This one more of a "stupid" than an "angry", though.

*ringring*
Me: Sheetz, this is Jacob, how can I help you?
Old woman: Do you sell gas?
Me: Uh, yes we do...
Old woman: Ok, thanks. *click*
Me, slowly putting the phone down: Do we sell... what... what the fuck...

Customers = Evil and predictable.

All they do is come around 12 o'clock, get food, pay you a 20 dollar bill on a one dollar order and you become a fucking bank to all. In your case, people are just more idiotic on how they demanded the services and the price, like they want the best of the best stuff at the cheap and cheap price!

"Hey, give me 1,000,000 lbs of tires."
"Um, you do realizes that is---"
"Here you go, I'll give you 5 bucks."

Like that, and they don't care. That and can't read a sign either.

Oh yeah, lately I got customer who drove off without their money back and I was like: so I was holding on to it in case if they come back... 45 minutes later, they call and I was like: *Raise an eyebrow.* "Hey, shift leader, do you think these customer would be LYING to you so that they can rip us off? Have you ever thought of that?"

I mean, JESUS! YOU DROVE OUT WITHOUT GETTING YOUR MONEY BACK! THIS IS A COMPLETE BULLSHIT SINCE YOU DROVE OFF! DON'T FUCKING CALL BACK, YOU JUST NEED TO LEARN TO DRIVE BACK BEFORE I START TO FORGET YOU!

It just proves that this world don't have the clue of what the hell is going on. Not only that but the weird thing is that these ironic people act smart in term of knowledge but act dumb in the world of life. Is there ever an end to these?

Ah, money issues. That reminds me of the dozens of times I've greeted customers who come in saying

Customer: "Yeah, I talked to someone on the phone and they said they'd give me $10 off".
Me: "Okay, did you get their name or remember who you talked to?"
Customer: "Oh, chuckles, no I forgot!"

Okay ... ? Here's your discount, scum.

Same here... Lucky, I quited now.

Let see. I had a guy who stood in the same spot for... say about 3 minutes and he was STILL there (and with the correct money handed out) and then another car pulled up, made his/her order and when I got to the drive-thru window, there was still that old guy who yelled at me for...

5 bucks. "Did you count your money sir?"

"Yeah, I did. Now where is my 5 bucks?"
"That's funny, you're lying to me. Now go to the next window and get your order."
Assistance Manager: "NATHAN, WHAT IS THE HOLD UP!?"
"One customer is complaining on how I gave him 2 dollars, when in fact, I counted not once, not twice, but 3 times, that it was 7 dollars. He is complaining to me that I did not give him the correct change."
Assist. Manager: "You are an idiot, Nathan." She open the drawer and give the guy the 5 dollar bill and closed it. "Sorry, sir, hopefully this won't happened again next time."
(You are a complete idiot...) "Hey, Cordy, why won't you check my drawer right now, to see if I was 5 dollar short this time when you think I was wrong?"
"Smart move."

We tally the money and guess what? She point finger at me even through I was 5 dollars short.

"Maybe you did this with the other customer!"
"Sigh... All you ever do is complain and blame on someone else."

Customer are bitchy. I'm glad I something am usually zen about things but when it come to my mother, she just bitch away whatever she get pissed off at.

So this yellow POS Chrysler comes zooming into our shop, and this old man just jumps out of his car screaming at all of us that its a "$40,000 car and you guys got god-damn oil dripping all over!!!"

We weren't busy at this time, it was just us ... 6 or so employee's standing there looking at this guys demise. He just wouldn't shut the hell up. Finally, our Salesman (whom the customer was facing almost the entire time while he was yelling) screamed back with "Who are you talking to sir? You don't talk to us like that. I wasn't even HERE this morning when this happened" and he got up and wobbled away to smoke one (broke his leg, so he can barely walk). The customer really shut the fuck up after that.

But really, when the guy kept yelling at us ... I just, kept letting a grin get me. I smiled, I almost laughed allowed. I hid somewhat towards the corner where he couldn't see me, and almost went into the office because I almost couldn't hold it in.

I'm sorry, but I can't take any grown adult serious who act like they're 2 years old. And I swear, I've seen tons in my time at work. I'm sure everyone else does too.

I mean, I look back at the "bullies" I had in Junior High, and compare these grown adults to them. But the thing is, they're grown adults, and yet they seem even dumber, and more annoying to a point that I just think is so sad, I have to laugh.

Yeah. Really, I don't know what the point of this thread is. Other than the fact that people can be so stupid, immature, and disrespectful at any age, and I just find it to be funny.

Its sad.

RANT---

I remember on Thursday, we had a Fleet truck come in (Fleet as in Company car). Whomever typed in the paperwork, accidently forgot to put in the $19.99 early bird special, and charged him $10 more for the special High Mileage oil that he wanted. I was the lucky guy to cash him out. So, I go in the lobby, call his name and tell him he's ready. The total comes up to be around $40 or so, and he looks at me like he either wanted to kill me, or like I was retarded. He instantly grabs his folder, and rips out a reciet argueing that he has never been charged this much before. Do I care? I didn't give a shit. I said "Okay, well it looks like they just forgot to give you the 19.99 early bird special here, I'll fix that." He continues to argue he usually pays $28.99 for the changes. Me, wanting the retard to get out of my face, I just gave the guy the damn 19.99 early bird special, WITHOUT the mid grade oil upgrade, and WITH a special fleet discount that he usually got. AND HE WAS STILL ANGRY. So, the total comes up and I told him "It's 21.92 sir" (something around there), and he looks at me with such a smartassed look and says "Okay, what do you want me to do about it?" Here, I was expecting him to give me money, a card, or something because at the time I did NOT know it was a fleet vehicle. I told him I was sorry, and did not know. Finally he signs the paper, and we got it all settled and he wanted to talk to my manager. I told him he was busy downstairs hooking up a transmission, and he stampered off to call back later and yell at my manager saying we were disrespectful to him.

HE GOT AN OIL CHANGE FOR $10 CHEAPER THAN NORMAL, AND HE WAS STILL PISSED.

Also, one of the ABSOLUTE most annoying things I ever see in my life is a situation like this.
- We do something wrong, or accidently.
- The customer / person goes on and on and on and does not stop bitching about it.
- We tell them we'll get their money back, redo their services, or make things even better for them!

"No, its okay. I dont' care now".

Well, why the fuck were you complaining in the first place? I absolutely cannot stand it when people do this, with any kind of situation. You offer to fix something, and then they change their mind.
