yeah i found taht out later on, but i still suck at it, oh well though. In killing baddies,
(talking about chains in kill same bad guy in a row) my highest chain is 126 when i was back in the desert going to the tomb, all of those sand jawas man, i got some crazy good items though. Eventually they get harder and you get healed after killing something and sometimes protect or regen casted on you. And alot of gooood items to sell, that place made me rich. |

Originally posted by Fooly Cooly Kirby Actually its more dependent on how many lvl 1, 2, and 3 quickenings you pull off. Not how long your chain is. The best concurrence you can get is Black Hole and it does an outrageous amount of damage. I've yet to get it though. You have to get off four lvl 1, four lvl 2, AND four lvl 3 quickenings. Which means you need at least a 12 hit combo. The best i've gotten is Luminescence or White Out. Which ever one is better. My highest chain is 16.....but I only got Catyclysm from it. U_U |

Its not exactly a tomato, per se. It comes from the Mandrake family of monsters and is more like a pikmin with a tomato for a head o.O
Its pretty much just a mini-boss fight. Also to add, I did a 17-hit Quickening earlier today and took out a room full of Jellies! -^^- |

I don't believe anyone addressed my earlier post.
You have to hunt a tomato? Can someone explain that to me? |

Balthier is a hella sexy sky-pirate. I wish I could be just like him when I grow up. He looks really cool too. >.> I'd do him if I were gay(or a girl) <.<

Bah, I wasted SO much time on that damn first Demon Wall, but I finally killed it and it was SO worth it!
Is it just me, or is Balthier one helluva sexy beast? (rawr) And that's coming from me, in a completely heterosexual stance! |

It's pretty good. I especially like the fact that I don't ahve to see Vaan's ugly stupid head if I don't want to. Balthier is the main character FTW!
Anyway, I must be retarded because I haven't even used quickenings yet.(and I was wondering why boss fights were so hard) But I guess I'll grab a few of those and slap them into my kickass team and let em rip into bosses etc. I seriously thought Iw as doing badly against the bosses because I hadn't power-levelled like I usually do. Meh. Whatev. I've been grabbing weapon abilities and augments. not really paying too much attention to anything else(besides magic) I've got Balthier specced swords, Vaan Daggers, and Fran Bows. Vaan and Fran have white magic, and they cure at <50% health. Balthier has Poach and Steal, making me a money machine. (plus the swords with good attack power) Oh and I'm only checking it out of work(I have to give it back tomorrow ) But I'm definitely picking it up when I GET the money to, probably after Wii and Zelda. If I don't trade in the old PS2... |

yeah you pull off 3 quickenings you get the extra inferno combo pull of 6 get catacalysm ect, i've pulled off a 8 in a row but thats about it, each character can get up to 3 and i tend not to use frans because i need her mana so its up to vhann and basch, usually i just use a summon though, much eaiser. |

I just got it about 30 minutes ago. I am Currently on the part where you have to hunt the rogue tomato. And maybe it's just me, but the License System feels some like the Sphere
Grid System. |

I defeated the Wild Saurian (the T-Rex) at lvl 11. If you use your Quickening on one of the wolves near him, the Concurrence will harm him, but won't make him active.
Basically I took away half his life with a concurrence alone, gave everyone ethers, then unleashed my full quickenings on him. He died before he could touch me. Whoo Whoo! |

Yeah, I've pulled off 5-hits so far, but I just found out about the shuffling. Seems deadly.
Being vague (so I don't spoil much), I just escaped an airship with a bunch of characters, and fought a Judge (boss). I pulled off a 5-hit Quickening combo and it dealt 7,000+ damage and he was killed instantly. And I'm just level ~15. Still, some of those hunts are pretty tough. |

I've figured it out. It's pretty easy once you figure it out. A character can get up to 3 levels of quickening. Say you have the licences for all 3, then you can use your use (Three lv-1 quickenings) , (One lvl 1 quickening, and One lvl 2 quickening) or (One lvl 3 quickening.) To use the quickening you just press the button that is listed next to the characters name in the lower right corner.
That part is easy, right? If anyone else has their quickening at ready, you can press that too. A button doesn't always appear so you must press Shuffle (R2) until you can press one. Once you use all of your quickenings, the character can't use anymore....unless.. You get a Mist Charge. A mist charge complete fills up your quickening again. Allowing you to start over. While all this is going on you'll have a 4-second timer. The timer stops whenever you use a technique. (But not if you get a mist charge) Depending on how many Quickenings you get off depends on the final Concurrence. The more quickenings you get off, the bigger the final concurrence is. (A concurrence is like an extra final attack) |

I'm borrowing it from a friend on and off.
The Quickenings really fuck shit up! When I fought the fiery unicorn boss in the sewer, I killed it in one hit using the Quickening Inferno combo with Vaan and Fran. I can't wait to see if I can decimate the T-rex. |

Been awhile since I've played a game where I can't stop playing. Just played a solid 5 hours straight.
Its getting really good, once you get more party members and get into the Gambit system the gameplay becomes outstanding. And the characters, plot, and everything seem top notch so far. Balthier and Fran are awesome. |
Shuyin Posts: 1376/1858 |
I can't really afford to get it right now. I was kind of planning on it, but I checked my checking ccount at the ATM the other day and it said I was - 52.00. I kind of took this as a sign that it wasn't meant to be. I mean exactly $52?
So basically....i'm going to do the unthinkable and not buy it. I'm going to borrow it from a friend and burn it and play it that way......That's a sin, isn't it? |

I got it last night but didn't play much, I got really tired for some reason and went to bed around 1:30 (I'm usually up until about 3:00 or so).
I'm not sure what to think of it so far. But again, I only played like 40 minutes or so. |
