You can go through as many cycles as you want. If you couldn't, you wouldn't be able to use the same characters to get all the endings, and that would take a very long time to get some of those endings(Like winning the Etna and Laharl story battles, or getting 99 felonies).

And actually, I've seen 4 different endings already. 1 was entirely on accident. Didn't save it there, though.

And a small update: My Prism Mage reincarnated into a Galaxy Mage. I hope I get the Tera level spells. :3

One thing I haven't seemed to find an answer for, can you go through the games multiple times? Not just twice?

I'd guess so, but I've never seen a specific answer on that.

Yeah, Chaos Soldiers level a bit slower than most characters. From what I've seen, the time it took me to level my reincarnated mage to around 90 or 100-ish, my Chaos Soldier was around level 60. Then again, he could fight like a level 100 character...it didn't help that I reincarnated my Male Warrior(Around level 90 or 100, I think) to one, though. And also, something random. The Chaos Soldiers look like a really evil looking version of Zetta(Makai Kingdom, famous quote "I'm one badass freakin' overlord!")

And also, I've been blazing through the story levels with one character: My Prism Mage. She's level 143 right now, and having a spell casting range of 7(Most spells must have a range of 4 or something) and throwing Omega Stars at will has to mean something...And now she has more Mana than Adell. Too bad she's gonna lose it all when I reincarnate her again. :/

And now, I got to 13-3, so it's powerleveling time for about half of my characters. The other half are...well...just taking space, I guess.

Yeah, I've heard about them, and know a lot about stuff thanks to the guide. Another downside I've apparently heard though is that they apparently level slower than other classes? But yeah, they do seem quite badass.

And yeah, I find myself blazing through the story maps with only a few characters, since its just too easy (gone through several maps with Adell only at times).

And yeah, I guess you're right. Then again I'd probably still keep playing with tons of characters anyways, regardless of what most people may say.

Like you said: " Chaos Soldier use Hurricane Slash, Thief use Shooting Star, Archer use Zielregen, Mage use Omega Star, Rozalin use Rose Liberation, Etna use Prinny Raid, Yukimaru use Midare Fubaki, Adell use Vulcan Blaze"

... there's just something about watching "Special - Kill, Special - Kill, Special - Kill, Special - Kill".

Everyone has different play styles, really. I don't generally like listening to the people at GameFAQs when it comes to picking who to use in Disgaea. Sure, Mage Knights are much better than the Male Warriors, but I don't really use them anyway.

When I'm just trying to burn though the story maps, I usually bring out up to 5 people. But, if I'm item worlding or leveling up my characters, I usually have around 10 people out. There are several good reasons to have many characters, though. Party Setup for me is usually:

4 Melee(Adell, Yukimaru, Etna, a Chaos Soldier using a sword)
4 Ranged(Rozalin, a Thief, an Archer, A Mage)
2 of anything I feel like putting in(Male Ninja with a spear, Female Warrior with a spear, Prinny, Female Ninja with a fist, a Priest)

Besides, one advantage of having a large party is comboing them. Let's say you had to fight a really, really hard item general. You killed everyone else, but the Item General is really, really tough. So, have attack setup as(for example): Chaos Soldier use Hurricane Slash, Thief use Shooting Star, Archer use Zielregen, Mage use Omega Star, Rozalin use Rose Liberation, Etna use Prinny Raid, Yukimaru use Midare Fubaki, Adell use Vulcan Blaze. The more you combo, the more damage the next person does.

One perk of completing the game cycle is unlocking the Chaos Soldier. If you played Disgaea 1, the Chaos Soldiers are the Majins of this game. If you haven't, think of Chaos Soldiers as the BEST warriors and(It's suggested that you reincarnate your mages with some at least decent spells before you make them Chaos Soldiers) mages in the game. All weapons have A(Tiers 4-6 have S ratings) ratings and their stats have 120% multiplier when using items. The only problems are that they have an innate 3 move and 1 space to throw(aka only in front of him).

Gah, I feared that part with story characters leaving for another cycle, but it does seem obvious.

I've actually reincarnated several characters, some that I'm not taking "too" serious. I already have a Gladiator (level 4 Warrior), and a very nifty Star Mage. I have access to the Prism Mage, but I'm going to wait a bit on that. Other than that though I just reincarnated one of my Red Mages into an Acolyte so I could have another good healer with attack magic.

But yeah, for the rest of my reincarnating I don't plan on doing it for a very long time, and probably only when I could afford Genius on top of that.

A Ninja Mage is something I'd like to work on in the future. I read about that setup at some of the threads at GameFAQ's, and it does seem like a really good idea. Apparently Female Ninja's have the highest Int next to Mages / Skulls (I'm pretty sure, at least someone said that). And in time I'll probably just have my Ninja replace my Sinner (been hearing a lot of people say they're worthless, but hey I do like their counter rates! ).

Yeah, one thing I did wrong according to a lot of other players, is have too many characters. When I go into a map, I usually bring out a max of 10 people to fight. But from what a lot of people say, its easy to handle things with a few stronger characters, rather than a larger amount of weaker ones.

But hey, its my first time playing Disgaea (II). So really I'm just still kind of exploring the game and the classes.

Right now, about 58 hours. Highest leveled character is almost at 150. Which is Adell. I'm on 2nd Cycle right now, but I'm going to go through the story until map 13-3, which you get Yukimaru's best innate special attack(It's a little weaker Ice version of Adell's Vulcan Blaze).

Didn't I tell you? I level up at Dark World 1-1. There are 3 mothmen that respawn every other turn. I kill 2 every time they spawn, and make the last one fall asleep using my Thief(which I reincarnated recently, by the way) or my Female Ninja. You probably want to level up here(Make sure to use the Stronger Enemies bill!) until you are strong enough to kill the guys at CoO4. The guys at CoO4 are around level 250 without the Stronger Enemies bill, and the area is in a +100% EXP bonus.

Don't bother trying to kill Laharl and Flonne yet, because they are level 500-600.

I reincarnated 2 of my characters a bit so far: My thief and one of my Mages. My thief I only started reincarnating yesterday, but my Mage has been around for awhile. She. Owns. Almost. Everything. If you made 3 mages like I did, it's rather pointless. Instead, you would actually want to reincarnate your 1 mage and get her to Prism Mage class, which you unlock from Star Mage. Prism Mages get ALL 4 ELEMENTS(Fire, Water, Wind, and Star, if you didn't know). And I still haven't unlocked the last class, but will do eventually.

I would suggest waiting from doing everything until you go to Cycle 2. You have to start all of your bills over again. Well, the CoO bill, Become a Senator Bill, etc. Most of the other bills will be left alone. Also, all story characters leave, so Yukimaru, Etna, Hanako, Tar(d)o, Tink, and, if you had them, Laharl and Flonne won't start in your group.

Dang ShadowKnight. Where have you been leveling? I have 40 some hours myself, but a lot of that is from letting the game idle (because I want Flonne and Laharl). I guess you can only unlock them on Chapter 12-13 though, but I'm on 11.

My higher characters are towards the 70's, with Adell over 80. I spent a good amount of leveling off Cave of Ordeals 1 (very quickly I might add, its fun to level someone from level 1 to 25+ in one kill!). But I've just now been starting to raise enemy levels so I can go even further.

I do have a level 1700 something Neko though, but I've never used it yet, and probably won't. I could get a few at 9,999, but just haven't felt like it. I've been doing what some people at GameFAQ's have been doing, and just decided to kind of wait out on the Item World and powerleveling until my 2nd cycle. I mean, I'm not even having to try with the campaign right now and I have yet to abuse somethings (I'll admit, I do have 7 million HL from a few bills and CoO1).

I hardly have videogame/internet/lulz time anymore, but I did mangae to clock in 10-14 hours so far. I've done everything up to the final tournament battle. Also, about 1/2 to 2/3 of time has been in the item world.

Ehh...I read some stuff on the GameFAQs board, but I doubt I'll use anything from there other than the usual FAQs and stuff.

Also, I have 35 hours logged into the game at the moment. 5 more hours and I get to unlock a level and fight a secret character. :3

When I go item worlding, I usually use food, because they are cheap and they can usually get your to high levels. The problem with it is if it gets too high, because my characters usually get overwhelmed then. Also, I have I think 6 or 7 of the treasure maps by going through the Subpoena, "Mastering the Knuckles"(Adell)(Don't know if I'll give it to Adell, really). Oh, the first time you get a felony, I thought it was something bad and put it on my Prinny.

EDIT: 40 hours in. 4 level 800-900 characters > My 10 level 90-100 characters. *cries*
EDIT^2: Oooops. I passed the Stronger Enemies bill 3 times, and forgot about it. There are still 4 level 500-600 enemies. *cries again*

I'm wanting to catch a Mothman with a high MV, then slap on some MV+ items to it ... to basically abuse the Item World. Hehe. , I mean I got a Legendary 'Finger Snap' and got it to level 10, and it boosted my attack like by 200 or something. And I'm still only around the 20's.

But yeah, ShadowKnight check this out: Interesting Guide

I doupt I'll do most of that, since I'm already 20 hours into the game and I'd kind of rather play on my own to figure out things. But it is nice to know about some of those tips.

If you are at Item World, abuse Reverse Damage and Invinicbility geopanels. Kill everyone when you are standing on them. Because you probably won't die unless you are facing off against druids or healers(if you are on Reverse Damage geopanels). Also, don't stand on 20% Damage/Ally Damage panels because they still hurt you on the Invincible and Reverse Damage geopanels.

One of my favorite places to go train is Dark World 1-1. You start with it when you unlock it. 3 enemies at level 80, every other turn, they revive if you killed them. 2 thieves with Sleep attacks/Female Ninjas with Sleep(MinMinMin is what it's called). Basically, keep two of the enemies asleep while basically mauling the last one. Eventually, you can get to kill 2 of them every time. But not 3, that ends the level. I got most of my party to level 80 on this level, and will probably be abusing this level a bit more.

Will put more here later, but I gotta go.

Sweet! I can't wait to pick it up when I get the chance. I've been waiting for this one for a while and hopefully the anime comes out sometime soon along with the graphic novels. ^^

Its grid based, and thank goodness ... I didn't like Phantom Brave.

And yeah, I made the main character a Senator pretty quickly.

I can't wait to pick this one up! If its half as good as the first one, then I guess I'm in for a real treat! I can't wait to make another über prinny bomb...

In any case, I played the first one when Kaijin let me borrow his copy and I absolutely adore it. When I heard Shadowknight talking about being able to become a senator, it gave me the shivers.

I just want to know one thing -- Do the characters in the game move panel to panel like they do in Disgaea or in the free range circle like Makai Kingdom?

PS: Betcha can't tell my favorite character

Seems interesting, but something I probably shouldn't attempt for awhile. , I did however find a switch awhile ago when I was searching the town for the treasure chests (after learning about moving the camera around). Guess I'll need to find 4 more.

I'm only level 5 (main character), on Chapter 2. The only added editions I've added to my characters are a Prinny, and Green Mage.

So yeah, any tips I guess? Leveling, or whatnot?

I was reading some threads at GameFAQ's and people were saying Mage's are a better choice that Skulls. But yeah, I'm just kind of casually playing here and learning as I go.

Usually, when you played the Disgaea 1, you just need a few characters(Laharl, a ninja, maybe 2 others) to lord over the enemy. In this one, it's definately possible, but not as much of an extent. And the Dark World stuff you can NOT lord over with just high level characters. You actually have to do strategic planning for the Dark World stuff.

This so-called Dark World is basically an uber version of the original map(as in, instead of fighting level 3 characters in normal world, you get to fight level 80 characters, and this is just the first map). Basically, it has an added bonus of something called the Dark Sun. The Dark Sun is makes something special happen on a certain turn. For example, the first Dark World Map has it so that the enemy revives every other turn. There are worse effects, like game over on turn 4. You only start out with one map, and you will have to fulfill the requirements on the normal versions of the maps in order to get the Dark World version of the map.

You have to unlock Dark World, which is basically looking for 5 switches around town. Then you have to fight a shadow character. This shadow character is level 100 and uses a bow.

One thing I've noticed while playing is that the story maps feel much more complex than when compared to the first game.

I just got this, and just got done playing about 2 hours. I never played the first one, but I had always heard great things about it. And after watching a friend of mine play this I just got really interested. Its interesting to play an RPG that doesn't take itself too serious for once (I'm loving the jokes towards typical RPG's and whatnot), and still this manages to be quite a complex and extremely fun game from what I'm seeing.

And man that Item World theme is awesome.

So yeah, this game rocks.

I picked up the game 2 days after it was released(which was August 31, a Thursday). And from what I played, it's Disgaea 1 with more stuff. Lots more stuff. If you have played Disgaea 1 before, you'll basically understand how this one works, too. The biggest changed between the two games(that I can remember) are:

-Guns can only shoot in 4 directions, though they can shoot farther away.(I still like them)
-There are drunk and sleeping senators in Dark Council. Sleeping senators don't do anything. Drunk senators are a gamble, so you don't know if they will vote for or against you, or if they actually do like the item you bribe them with. Also, there are items will wake/sleep/get drunk/sober up the senators.
-After you meet the requirements for getting a secret class(like destroying 500 geo panels to unlock the Geomancers), you have to go to the Dark Assembly and get approved to use that class.
-Don't ever plan on using "Persuade by Force" at the Dark Assembly for a good while. All the Senators seem to be at least 100+. The strongest that I've met(Legendary senators) are level 1000.
-You get the chance to become a senator yourself, so you get to say AYE or NAY.
-There are legendary senators, and I'll let you guys meet them.
-Your characters can get felonies.
-There are pirates that will attack you in the itemworlds.
-You can find chests, which you destroy to get items.
-There are new Geostone effects, which include Reverse Damage, Fusion, and Encroach.
-The weapon skills that you can learn have either been replaced by other skills or have been given spiffier looks.

There are probably other things in the game, but you can go find them out yourself. And I'll probably be playing this for quite a while.
