Hah. I called in once... when I worked at a UPS type store (it was ssoo dull). I conveniently had my car break down in Orange County so that I could go to Disneyland with some friends on a Monday in the middle of January.
It was an excellant day. ^-^ |

Since I work in my college newspaper office and get paid pocket change, there are days I just don't show up at all. I don't have any set hours, I only get paid for a certain number of hours a week, and most of the time my boss just lays work on me even if I'm in the office just hanging out between classes and "not on the clock."
I'm really hating it since despite my being there for a couple years, I still feel like my boss is looking down his nose at me. The other day he called me into his office and accused me of something I didn't do (And I honestly didn't ... this time. ), and despite my insistance that I was innocent, he still gives me this look like he thinks I'm dishonest from time to time. Often times he gives me work that's not in my job's standard tasks, like writing stories or editing pages for the newspaper. It really is a bitch when you're laced with these things because despite having projects or papers that I might need to get done for classes, newspaper business must get done first. It's bad enough that I have fours teachers who act as though theirs is the only class I've got and get upset when no one does the reading. So in short, on days when I'm supposed to be there, I often just say fuck it and leave my things in the office (so I don't have to carry them around town) and hang out somewhere else. /rant |

Ha ha, awesome.
I've called out of work..."Sick" because I wanted to watch Prison Break. Other than that, My job usually doesn't schedule me all that often so I make out pretty well. |

Nah, they won't even write me up. I can probably guarantee that. One thing is the General Manager has always liked me a lot (I've been there for almost 2 years also), and the 2nd thing is half the people that run the shop are retarded and don't really do anything at all. Everyone is always coming in late, not coming in, leaving to get food or whatever whenever they want to, and its been months since I've seen someone get just a write up (since we've had new management and stuff).
But yeah, I think I cleared things up a little bit today. Called in sick (no joke), and just told the new Asst. Manager that's why I wasn't in yesterday too. I'll have like 20 hours this next paycheck for 2 weeks, but if I cared I'd put in more effort to get hours, or just try. I really wish Best Buy would've cleared things up so I could've gotten a job there. |

Well, either you're fired, or you're one lucky guy and will get off with only a lecture. No offense, but that action wasn't the smartest you could have made. If I hated a job, I ould have made a bad choice too, no worries |

I havent done that yet, I like were I work though, lol.
Plus my boss is one of those guys who wants everyone on time and working, hates us being lazy. If I were to show up without calling or not having someone cover me my boss would fire me in a heart beat no matter how much he needs me. |

Its about 6 hours since I should've went in, and I still haven't even called in (I don't think I will). I just simply did not go to work.
Well, they haven't called me either. So I'm assuming they either don't care, or didn't need me today. Wonder if I'll get in trouble. I'm sick of Jiffy Lube though. Ever just not go into work? Without a reason? |
