The Orcas were trying to eat them. Penguin is one of the things that Orcas typically eat.

Sorry about the name, I had forgotten who had said it....

And yeah, I got the whole journey thing. And I think the reason he looked different was because it set him aside, kinda like a Rudolph thing.

But how was Lovelace choking for so long? And were the orcas gonna eat them, or were they helping? It was hard to tell.

I found it hilarious that they tried to make the female penguins look more shapely.

Um, my name is Elara, not Rogue. Get that straight next time, Xander.

The plot was about Mumble's journey from outcast to accepted (savior even?), so your statement that there was no plot until the last half hour shows you obviously had no idea what the movie actually was about. Secondly, the comment about dancing penguins saving the world was made jokingly *gasp*.

As for why Mumble still had the downey feathers... that was one of the questions I kept asking myself throughout the movie. I don't think that being dropped as an egg would have resulted in that, but then again I don't see how it would make him dance instead of sing either. Or the blue eyes for that matter. I suppose that it was mostly just to further highlight his difference from the other Emperor Penguins.

They also never really explain how Lovelace, a Rockhopper Penguin, came to be living on mainland Antartica with the Adeile Penguins... but then again it is a kids movie.

I think the one little girl was partially animated, at least when seen from Mumbles side of the glass it looked like it. And I think they also were at the very end... otherwise I think it might have been partly because it saved money to not animate them and partially because real humans do look better than animated... however I did feel it was out of place in a animated movie.

I don't se how I can be any clearer...

It was an average movie. The script was awful. Hell, there wasn't even a plot until the last half hour. It would have been a failure if it hadn't been filled with cute tap dancing penguins.

Spoiler:

And I don't get how them dancing made everyone want to leave... "Penguins, ah, who gives a damn. But dancing penguins, that's different!"

And Rogue, they didn't save the world...

Vulkar, the reason they didn't animate the humans is probably because animated humans usually look less human than the animals, if that makes any sense.

This movie was...strange. But I liked it. The miniature penguins were great, Robin Williams was awesome, and I loved the aliens. Although, there were two things...

First off, why did his feathers look so different from everyone elses? He was the same age, and could do the same things, why were they different. And of course, why on earth didn't they computer animate the humans? It didn't fit in the whole visual style to have real humans inside an animated world.

I loved this movie! It was sweet, it was funny, it was touching and best of all, it had penguins! The voice talent was great. Ramon and his crew remind me of some family I have, accent and attitude, it was so cute.

I think Robin Williams doing a Latin penguin was just hilarious... especially the singing part... oh dear gods.

And the birds... heh heh, alien abduction.

My girlfriend and I loved the movie! I really liked the different voice accents used for the different animals. I like the German seal and the Scottish Penguin! XD
