Which is good... but cutting back and quitting are two very different things. You're moving in the right direction at least.

Im actually trying to cut back on smoking cigs. For one thing it costs alot of money and second I just am tired of cigs. I have cut back quite a bit.

I am very proud of you. Now if only Garrett and Jacob would jump on the bandwagon and then the major sights of temptation would be removed... or at the very least the nasty smell.

Been almost a week and I'm still going strong. I found a cigarette in a pack that I had lost and there was temptation, but the decision was easy. I think it's also good support that I'm keeping my word.

Jayarre said that... and generally for everyone but him that has said it it has been true. I wish luck to the both of you.

I also decided to quit. Mostly because smoking is REALLY bad for you. And because my partner in crime made a commitment to and I support everything he does. So it's been since Sunday and I haven't craved a cigarette at all. I think once you just don't want to smoke anymore then, you're done.

Hmn, if that works as well as you say then perhaps it is worth saving up for.

Im taking medication for me quitting.

I cant afford this shot thats proven to make you quit the same day you get the shot. My uncle got it, and never picked up one again.

Its supposed to block out receptors in your brain that activates the Nicotine craving, hardly no side effects except a headache, but I cant afford the 296 US Dollars.

I also have decided to quit smoking. My last cigarette was Sunday. Mostly
because I have been coughing a lot in recent months and it's been getting worse.
I figured it was time to quit no matter how much I may like to smoke.

I haven't coughed nearly as much in the last three days as I did Sunday alone.

While normally I would close this for bumping, I do feel that you added something to the conversation. I've heard of that before... now I am tempted on slipping everyone I know that smokes some of those damn pills.

That reminds me of this...

Everytime you have a cigarette you take some special pill or drink or something that makes you throw up. Try to do this regularly and eventually your body will 'learn' to make you feel ill every time you have a cigarette. I read it in a book somewhere ages ago... It's a trick psychologists use or something...

I also need to quit. >.< But the fact is that like to smoke. Not the feeling but I like the act. For me I think it'll be a matter of cold turkey.

Dont read the spoiler Clock...it takes Will, and the below spoiler dosent have it.

Spoiler:

Not too good, you see, It started well on the first 2 weeks up untill I bought my Plane ticket. So I decided to calm my nerves in the most stupidest way possible...not to mention my dad kept begging me to buy him a pack of Cigarettes...so that edged it on and on and on.

However I have gotten more better, the last pack I bought was last week, and I have one pack remaining...Not to mention within 24 hours, I HAVE to quit...My girlfriend will not kiss someone with the smell or taste of Smoke...she deserves better than that.

Personal favor for not only myself but to you guys...Wish me luck on my trip.

Like Elara, I suggest books...or something to get information from. Obviously different techniques with better for different people. I've never smoked, but I've had other bad habits, like keeping up with a hobby too much and getting laxed on my responsiblities...it helped for me when I turned the things I was responsible for into habits...so the whole cancelling the bad habit with a good one, works for me, has worked for other people. It might be for you,

Cold Turkey might be for you.

Slowly weaning off the nicotine may work for you.

The best advice that I can give you is to get as much information as possible. It's okay to experiment with a few different ways to quit, and it's okay to make mistakes. Don't take it easy on yourself, but don't be so hard on yourself that you cause yourself more stress than already there, ya know?

I have heard that it is incredibely hard to go cold turkey. So I suggest the gum. Or you can try the sunflower seed thing. However I suggest Jolly Ranchers. Thats just me though, I love candy.

Either that or you can cut down. 5 Cigarettes a day for 4 days, 4 cigarettes for 3 days, 3 cigs for 2 days, and so on...

It takes 21 days to start and end a habit. Best of luck to you

you can do what my dad did when he quit smoking. Every time he wanted a cigarette he ate sunflower seeds, after a little while the cravings went away. Just, try and substitute the bad habit with a good habit.

There are books that help you quit, or there is nicotine patches. However, if you can go it cold turkey it would be cheaper for you. Main thing is, I am proud of you.
