Dear Sir or Madam:

I am writing in concern of my recent voyage aboard the AeroTrain from San Angeles to Edge City. A little background, first. I'm an historian specializing in Terran cultures of their late 20th century and early 21st century. As a result of my findings, I have found our systems of transportation to be more impersonal than that of primitive Terran.

In question is my recent trip across the Great Ocean via the Mainland-Paradox Island SubTrain Tunnel aboard one of your AeroTrains. While the trip did allow me to make my engagements on time, I was quite disappointed at the lack of presence by your TMC personnel. I do understand that all of the trains have always been unmanned since their inception, including having automated stations, but it seemed a little impersonal to not have the presence of at the very least, a TMC regulations officer aboard.

In all the years of traveling aboard this mode, I have only seen a TMC regulations officer once on a midnight trip out of Edge City bound for Oakridge City. I do understand that Night Squadron is deployed within the City at night to protect its buildings from the night dwellers, but even the presence of Night Squadron on the trains would be appreciated.

Yours,
Dr. Yulef Suraj
University of San Cremento

Dear Dr. Yulef Suraj:

We thank you for your recent correspondence to our head office in Downtown Edge City. While we appreciate your comments, we regretfully inform that we cannot appease your concerns. Our personnel no longer maintains a position outside of TMC regulations officer that would fulfill your antiquated Terran desires. And, while the trains appear to be unmanned, they are actually piloted by TMC officers remotely from the Edge City TMC Tower.

As you may know, TMC has a greater control of all tranportation on Earth II, which also includes surveying new areas and finding more cost- and environmental-efficient solutions to moving the denizens of Earth II about the planet.

Sincerely,
Mary T'klev
Senior Transportations Control Supervisor
Transportation Mobility Commission - Mainland Division

To whom it may concern:

I have been a long traveler through the Tunnel between the Mainland and Paradox Island, using my own vehicle rather than the AeroTrain to cross its vast expansion. Recently, after being delayed within the tunnel for a period of one hour due to a system malfunction, and resulting non-fatal accident, I had enough time to analyze a possible alternative to the automated transit one experiences in their personal Type III compliant vehicles.

Since malfunctions in any system are inevitable, and while protection are in place accidents will still occur, could it be avoided altogether to allow each denizen to pilot their own vehicles through the tunnel?

Curious,
Alexander Milano
Bank of San Angeles

Dear Mr. Milano:

It seems that you have failed to calculate all possible reasons as to why we do not, and have never allowed non-automation compatible vehicles into the tunnel, let alone to allow denizens to pilot their own vehicles. As you may already know, the tunnel spans a distance of approximately 600 miles underwater across the Great Ocean, and shares its space with both directions of the SubTrain.

Through TMC automation, we are able to regulate traffic into a steady flow of 150 miles per hours through the tunnel for vehicles; 300 miles per hour through the tunnel for trains. Since the system is fully aware of each vehicle progressing through the tunnel, it is far easier to regulate the flow of traffic by allowing the system to move vehicles through it. If we allowed all drivers to pilot their own vehicles, the system would inevitably fail, producing wait times only rivaled by freeway systems of 20th century Terran.

We are sorry that we cannot fulfill your request, but we will supply a credit to your Tunnel Access account to remedy the inconvenience of your trip.

Sincerely,
Scott Tulev
TMC Access Accounts Maintenance

Dear TMC:

I am writing because other communications to your headquarters have proved to be quite futile. I am canceling my account for Tunnel Access as well as AeroTrain Pass as I no longer have a need or desire to use your monopolizing services.

Thank you,
Agent J'cob Ur'lve
Harbor West Transportation Services

Dear Harbor West:

We are sorry to lose your account services aboard two of our most utilized public tranportation systems. We hope to provide further services with our remaining three mediums in the future.

Because, we know that every single person on this planet has to get somewhere sometime, and will inevitably require the services of TMC.

Regretfully yours,
Sr. Engineer Markus Waltham
TMC Special Accounts Maintenance

Attention All AeroTrain Pass Holders:

Starting next Monday, your AeroTrain Passes will be automatically integrated with your IdentiCard, effectively phasing out a separate AeroTrain Pass. Your old passes can be deposited into a collection bin at each AeroTrain station, and at that time your IdentiCard will display a TMC ATP logo each time you board an AeroTrain medium. If your IdentiCard does not display the ATP logo while aboard the train, and you have a valid subscription, please contact TMC Accounts Maintenance as soon as possible.

The standard fine for not possessing a valid pass while aboard TMC transporation mediums remains at 50 credits and a cancellation of transportation access for a period of up to one week.

For your convenience, the AeroTrain stations in San Angeles and Edge City will display the ATP logo for verification purposes only during the first week of the conversion. At this time, patrons are welcome to report issues without risking fines and isolation.

Thank you,
Transportation Mobility Commission - Edge City, Paradox Island

How long did it take you to come up with those? I must admit that they were actually kinda funny once you read all of them. When you get the series finished perhaps you should put out a companion guide with this and the other information on the series.

It doesn't take a long time for me to get into the mindset of a typical denizen of Earth II when I don't have to actually fall into the mindset of a main character. That's when it becomes work. Having to stay within a realm that is true to the characters and their interactions as a whole.

Yeah, I can understand that. My brain seems to be adverse to me writing lately because it wants a break after that theory class and Darkfang seems far too much like work to it.
