I can play WoW on this here laptop at a smooth 25 frames per minute, with enough RAM to make the city of Ironforge load instantly (those of you who play know what I'm talking about). Yet, sometimes, I get Fatal Exceptions, and i have to close WoW. For no reason; I could just be running across the plains, and bam. Error. Sometimes it happens constantly, sometimes, it doesn't happen at all. Makes no fucking sense, it's amazingly annoying, and it's pissing me right the fuck off.
I use Windows XP, running on a Dell. Does anyone have any idea what to do or what the problem could be?

Hmm, what's your model? I've got a Latitude D820 and can run games up to Half-Life 2 / Supreme Commander very well ... that's probably besides the point and this might be obvious, but do you have all the XP updates, new drivers, etc? Dell's are known to be pretty funked up when it comes to games and the graphic cards, definitely make sure the drivers and everything are right for that.

I think it's a D620. Regardless, my current theory is overheating. I'm going to run tests of my theory, and et back to this with my results.

Your virtural Memory may be the cause of this problem.

Darkslaya helped me out on this issue before cept it was not on WoW, it was something else.

If you can load Ironforge instantly, Give me your internet connection, DAMN.

Oh, it's not my connection; it's my RAM. Don't know how much I have, but it's enough to load everyone's character models. While I'm entering the city on the Gryphon.

I think someone assumed on JUL that it could be the overheating problem.

For starters, your laptop I believe is pretty much built for WoW, so long as you have the parts for it, and you are in a pretty well ventilated area, your problem should not be overheating really.

Then again, I COULD be wrong, so dont take my word and think its not just that. I still think it could be your virtural memory.

I have two D620's and one of them was doing the same thing yours is, it was a RAM issue, check to make sure both RAM modules are firmly seated, one of mine slipped out

Try that and if you only have one RAM module then time to upgrade (one of mine has 1 gig of ram the other has 2 gigs)

Laptop RAM is cheap (sorta).

I have no idea, I am just envious that you can run the game at all. I apparently can't since Burning Crusade came out, my video card can't handle it.
