I figure it's about time for another one of these. We need three judges besides me, and one to fill my judging spot for my entry.

I will be a judge. However, Cairoi, since this is my forum I would have appreciated it if you had brought this up with me before posting this. I've tried to do another competition for a while but no one has wanted to judge.

Um, the original rules also were that judges cannot enter stories. You can't judge your own story without bias so it was not allowed, since judges read and judged ALL stories. So yes... I ask that you remove yourself and Makura from the entry list or the judge list since it would be unfair to all other entrants if you did both. Same goes for Rakluv, entry or judge but not both.

First of all, I had every intention to include you on this. Not trying to take it from you or anything like that.

Also, the system me and Makura had talked about using was to have four judges so that if a judge wanted to enter, there'd be three judges to judge and they wouldn't have to.

EDIT: I'd love to talk to you about this more. PM me. I'd like to change the system so that EVERYONE judges each other's stories, not just a designated council. It's Makura's idea and I think she's completely right on it. That way, everyone can enter and judge. No one is inferior.

Also, I'd like to have a few rounds of this, possibly. One round for short stories, one for poetry, one for a collaboration with another entrant, stuff like that. We can extend this and make it really fun.

I agree completely with Cairoi. Everyone judging as well as entering would be neat. That way you also get to enter, Elara. I think enocorporating other contests is a good idea as well. Especially since my poetry contest kind of failed.

Ok, so everyone will judge each other's work, instead of set judges. Here's what I'm thinking:

Round One will be Short Story-Single. You write approximately thousand word short story like the first short story competition. Your work will be graded be your peers.

Round Two will be the Collaboration, where two people or more work together to make a story. The points will be divided among the entrants so you have a greater chance of winning if you keep in between two people.

Round Three will be Poetry, and Round Four will be either Character Create, or Adaption. We can decide that later.

You don't have to participate in each event, but doing so makes you eligible for the Grand Writer's Prize. Other prizes will be awarded for best individual round, or some other things like that.

Just two ideas I shot out of the dark.

Character Create would be coming up with an original, fleshed out character with as much interesting and plausible background information as seems right.

Adaption would be an adaption of something. A song, a movie, something along the lines of that.
