| So I just got a new laptop. I ordered it about two weeks ago and it finally came way ahead of schedule on Monday! I customized it and here are the specs.
ThinkPad T61p Intel® Core™ 2 Duo processor T9500 (2.6GHz 800MHz 6MBL2) Genuine Windows Vista Business 64 15.4 WSXGA+ TFT NVIDIA Quadro FX 570M (256MB Open GL) 4 GB PC2-5300 DDR2 SDRAM 667MHz SODIMM Memory (2 DIMM) UltraNav (TrackPoint and TouchPad) with Fingerprint Reader 200GB Hard Disk Drive, 7200rpm with Disk Encryption Intel Turbo Memory 1GB DVD Recordable 8x Max Dual Layer, Ultrabay Slim Intel Wireless WiFi Link 4965AGN (supporting Centrino Pro) Integrated Bluetooth PAN I also got a battery that I can swap out for the optical drive since I really don't use it that much. Got a security cable and backpack. Computer cost 2k with backpack, cable, battery, and tax it was 2.4k. |

| For a laptop, that's a beast.
Funny how times change too ... my laptop was about 2k about two years ago, it's a Latitude D820 (Dell), still fairly decent but like half of what yours is (though I also have Core 2 Duo, which is great!). |
