"Friend, I could try to free you from your bonds, but we would not get very far, and then we'd both be in the same predicament you are in now. Under lock and key, kept shackled while the others remain free. And not only that, but we would be nearly powerless to the Noxadrain. Now, I hereby make a suggestion of an alliance so to speak. We bide our time, plan for the right moment, and we unleash hell, destroying this place in the process. But not just us, many more will be driven to our cause."
Marionette smiled widely, something almost unknown to him. "Freedom." |

"Do you want freedom, or life in a cell, this is the last time I will offer such a proposition. Answer quickly, I get the feeling we could be interrupted should we dilly dally any longer."
Marionette spoke with haste, a hero or two would be no problem, but they could still hit the alarm, and he did not yet know the limits of his rediscovered strength. (Last edited by Soiex on 07-24-08 01:45 AM) |

"Excellent, seek me out once you are freed, now please, I must close the door to the cell, but I will leave the small slat they feed you from open. Keep up you strength, brother."
Marionette closed the door behind Lycaon, leaving the one-inch-by-six-inch slat open. He began walking again, down the hallway and back to his normal cell. He was replaced in his normal cell, and the guard who was wrapped around his finger became unwound. He was utterly confused for several moments at a time, but then realized his job was done, and smiled, taunting the villain behind the bars. "Learn your place, creep." |

And so it began. The next few days seemed to fly by for everyone. Everyone began to feel the dark pulses coming from the Marionette. The force behind him began to grip the inmates, and a hushed excitement filled the public spaces. In short time, the Marionette became the star of the clinic. Love him or hate him, he was the focus of attention.
It seemed the Marionette had learned his place. It was at the top. It was lunch time. The inmates began to fill out the cafeteria. Once the Marionette found his seat, the rest followed suit. Some sat as close to him as possible, others as far as possible. The cold divide of tables between the camps was gaping wide. Penn looked over at the other group and took a large bite of his grilled cheese sandwich. "What's become of this place?" |

Lycaon couldn't sit in a proper position to meditate. Nor could he lie down, to try and properly ignore his physical body. The best he could manage was sitting slumped in the corner, his wrists resting on his knees. It was an inconvenience, but he could manage. He had been sitting this way for two days now, his eyes closed, not moving a muscle. In fact, the guards that came in to give him his daily dose of Noxadrain found this more disconcerting than resistance.
He knew that he could defeat the poison running through his system, train his body to reject it. It was all a matter of willpower. |

Elsie's skin grew even paler as she began to sit down behind Penn. Her eyes closed as she blessed her food in hopes of seeing her mother. The stress was taking over. More and more as Elsie's thoughts began to go over how she wanted to everything to disappear so that she could see her mother outside of the walls. She grabbed her sandwich. Elsie's hands gripped around it as she began to think harder about Ellen, her cousin and her mother. She closed her eyes and tears began to form. She cried and began to shake. Her voice was brought to whispers that only someone close by could hear. "I wish I wasn't here..... This place scares me..."

Marionette was now the center of attention, strings in the backs of all of these men around him, their attention firmly set upon him, but the guards not knowing how or why. Either Noxadrain was ineffective, or his true personality was just that magnetic. The guards were in a constant state of worry, turning their eyes away from him, hoping to not be caught under the spell. Instead of destroying the Noxadrain tablets as he was, he was now stockpiling them, hiding them where the guards would 'forget' to check. Planning on preparing for the revolution. He looked across the courtyard, and noted all of those who he did not hold under his finger. They will soon crumble, they will soon falter, and then once the secret of this Noxadrain is revealed, then the world shall burn.

Elsie looked behind her and then towards Marionette as her hands clawed into her sandwich. She closed her eyes, the sight of him scared her. Her hands shook too much out of nervousness for her to notice anything. Elsie began to get lost in her own feelings. Crumbs began to fall every where. she was destroying her food and ripping it apart. Elsie couldn't focus. It was like this for the past few days. Elsie wasn't eating at all. Her nerves were so shot it felt like eating was a hopeless tool to continuing her hopeless life... Oh no.... She thought. Suicidal thoughts... Just the thought of suicide made her nervous. She couldn't even focus when a flood of thoughts came into her mind. She slammed her fist on the table. Her milk jumped and spilled over. I made a mess! Elsie began to panic she didn't have a napkin on handy and everyone else around her seemed to be too busy to notice her. Elsie just cried again she didn't know what to do all she wanted was for it to all be gone, to wake up, this may all be some sort of bad dream. "I want to go..." she whispered to herself again as the frustrations grew.

Helena's eyes fluttered open. She'd been dreaming again. Sullenly, she dangled her legs over the side of her bunk and rubbed her eyes as she tried to grasp the final wisps of the sweet reverie.
She was running through Priam and Hecuba's Trojan palace, laughing joyously as Paris chased her gentle gazelle-like leaps and strides. A devil-may-care grin was slapped across his face as he dodged courtiers and nobles here and there, darting after his prize and imagining the warmth and sweetness he'd well-receive once he carried her to his bedchamber. Helen sped up a little. Got to make the poor boy work for it this time. Every moment with Paris left an untarnished mark in her life that she would always look back on with such wanting. As Helen of Sparta, bound to Menalaous, a man more than twice her age whose concentration on war and perfection of armies left their marriage bed cold every night, she'd been listless and bored. A trophy wife for all the world to look upon, but for none to enjoy as a true companion. Then Paris entered the picture with that apple. That mischievous golden apple from Aphrodite that turned everything topsy turvy. Now she was Helen of Troy. Soft, fair, terribly in love, and blushing nightly with such an attentive and generous lover who'd worship her like a goddess and take her as a nymph. Paris was upon her now. Arms extended, he snatched her by her waist and clutched her in a cradling embrace. Helen rewarded him with furious yet soft butterfly kisses on his neck, paying close attention to the area around his ear where she knew it sent ecstatic jolts up and down his spine. They were so happy. The love goddess and her cherub son smiled upon their union and protected them as best they could until... "Greeks!! My lord, Greeks are approaching!!" A general outcry as nobles, servants, merchants, and even, Hector, Troy's celebrated crown prince, crowded the palace's balconies to see over the wall. The horizon of the wine-dark Aegean was dotted with Greek sails. Hundreds of them. Aboard were such notorious heroes (some even her own former suitors) as Achilles, Ajax, the clever Odysseus, Protesilaus, Diomedes, Antilochus, Agapenor, and her own husband joined by his warring brother, Agamemnon. They'd all come to collect her. The sky cracked as the gods chose their sides. The blood drained from her face as she, like Apollo's spurned lover Cassandra, saw a future of destruction. Troy would fall. Paris would be slaughtered. And she would find herself in the twenty-first century as little more than a common street walker whom men traded anything for to get maybe an hour of her time. Helena shuddered on thinking of the nightmare that started out so wonderful. She rubbed her eyes again, removing what granules the sandman left on the inner corners. Maybe it would finally be over in a few years. It wasn't fair to be stuck on earth for as long as she had, only able to feel human warmth if she wanted to cause unspeakable anguish. Oh well. Maybe once she got out of here, she'd talk her way onto a ship to some tropical island to live out this last life and never be heard from again. |

OOC: Rogue, I love you.
BIC: Kowalski sat down next to Elsie and wiped up the spill. He put his hand on her shoulder. "Hey, don't worry. This place ain't so bad. I mean, for super villians, we're a pretty nice bunch." Penn kept his gaze locked on Marionette, his face twisted in anger. He saw in Marionette the man he once was, the selfish powerhouse that viewed the world as a toy. Penn had an epiphany. He was here by choice. Men like the Marionette needed to learn just the same lesson. |

Michael spared a small glance as Kowalski sat next to Elsie as she cried, giving her comfort...
For a group of super villians, so few of these people seemed like villains. There was Kowalski, who offered help and comfort to everyone, Helena, who merely sat, crying, and seemed to weak to even be dangerous, Elsie who looked as though she needed far more mental help then moral help, and then Penn...who seemed angry at Marionette's villainous acts. So where were the villians? Where was the evil that was supposed to dominate a house of murderers? He couldn't resist a small smile, was the evil here truely evil, or was it simply weakness? Granted, Marionette seemed to have some of the evil that dominated villians, but even he seemed more satisfied by intimidating the guards than truely being evil. How far he must have fallen if he once caused fear in the hearts of heroes, and was now merely intimidating timid guards. Michael walked towards Penn, obviously the most mentally stable man in this jail, and possibly the most moral as well. "Good evening, my friend," Michael said. "Take my advice and ignore Marionette, his desire to cause harm is a sign of weakness, nothing more. He may learn eventually." |

Lycaon ran through the corridors of the underground bunker. Men ran past him, ready to fight. What he'd give to fight alongside them, but it would be an effort in futility. More important occurrences were happening than the battle above them. He turned the corner and nearly collided with himself.
"This way," he said, "Hurry." "Is it ready?" He responded. "Does it matter?" He made a good point, so he followed himself through the now empty bunker. Momentarily he reached a large blast door, where he waited for himselves, gesturing for him to enter quickly. The moment he was in, he closed the door behind him. There was six of him in the room. Of them. Of us. Silence filled the room, punctuated by the quaking of the bombs exploding above him. He was about to attempt something monumental, and none of him were sure that it would work. But as he had told himself earlier, at this point it didn't matter. Either way he'd end up dead. Lycaon's eyes opened, two hundred years later, in the cell at Bon Reve. He was almost ready. |

OOC: Oh how right you are Vulkar
Elsie looked at Kowalski. She looked at him as he cleaned up her spilt milk. No use crying over spilt milk, a voice sounded in her mind. "I'm sorry," she said bowing her head. "I've gained... a lot... of stress over the past few months..." She could barely focus. Elsie pointed at herself. "Elsie...." (Last edited by One Shot One Kill on 07-29-08 10:24 PM) |

Michael should have noted the parting of people around him, their wary eyes and sullen faces. Marionette placed a cold hand upon Michael's shoulder.
"I wish no harm, friend, had I wished petty harm I would be here under just causes. I want to bring the heroes to their charges, bring those who once were indomitable, down to a more human level. And to answer for their crimes. I see no reason for the world to burn, and have learned much from my mistakes, mistakes that landed me here." Marionette stared at the tables of men who distanced themselves from him, whether it be fear or disgust, their reasons for dislike did not interest him. Perhaps...Perhaps, these men believed they deserved their prison, perhaps they thought that by being here, their sins would be atoned. Perhaps...but they were all wrong. Self-pity and loathing was simply unacceptable, especially from those who tormented the surface. Sure, they all might not have been bad, but they certainly could have fooled the world. "What happened to the honor in villainy? Once, we had standards. Once, there was no need for bloodshed on behalf of a crime. Once, there was intimidation, without needing to murder, steal, pillage, or plunder. What happened to our honor, gentlemen?" |

As soon as the word villainy came up, it began to fester in her stomach. Her nervousness faded into anger. Her anger grew and grew. It was about to burst. She stood up straight and turned to Marionette. "Some of us are NOT villains!!!" She shouted out of a pure rage. All she could see was red. Elsie was losing control of what she said or what she was doing. Her sight she was capable of seeing blurred and began to dim out. Elsie was losing herself to the anger and stress.
She smirked and looked at Marionette. "Some of us wound up here against our wishes..." Her smirk went into a frown. "Taken from our homes, our families... Your heartlessness disgusts me." She touched the chair. Items around her began to shake. "What are you going to do about it? You're going to have to live through it. Or.... you disappear." The milk carton exploded next to her and simmered. She wasn't even touching it. |

Kowalski stood up and looked at Elsie with disgust. "Shut the fuck up. Are you so naive that you don't understand what being a villain is?"
Kowalski's eyes turned to the Marionette. "Do you, either? Being a villain has changed. It's not about right and wrong anymore. It's not about justice. It's not about morals. It's about law. You fight the law, you get sent here. You pose a threat to the law, you get sent here. It doesn't matter if you mean well or not. It used to be superhumans were above everything, but somehow the law rose above and turned us, gods among mortal men, into slaves of the beauocratic process. You can be a stubborn old lady or a coldhearted serial killer, it doesn't matter. In this world, the law is the force of fate we all have to deal with." "I consider myself a nice guy, so I'll give the two of you a chance to shut up and go about your business. Don't try me." (Last edited by Cairoi on 07-30-08 01:42 AM) |

Elsie looked at Kowalski. "I don't care what you are!" She grabbed her head and tears fell. It was apparent she was stuck here forever. "I didn't do anything wrong!" Elsie fell to her knees. "I didn't do anything! I was brought here because it was what was best for me!" Elsie cried. "I'm not a villain... I had no wishes to be labeled..." She looked around and several items stopped shaking. Kowalski's words got to her. They began to rattle in her. "I'm sorry..." She dropped her head. Elsie seemed a bit calmer as she had brought her feelings out on the table. "I just get so stressed. It's been a very stressful time for me..." Elsie looked at the milk. Her skin regained its color. She looked at him and gave him a smile. "My name is Elsie, what is your's?" (Last edited by One Shot One Kill on 07-30-08 02:26 AM) |
