So yeah, for those of you that haven't heard, we had a 4.7 shaker at 8:39pm tonight. I was at work when it hit and the epicenter was 22 miles away so it was pretty damn strong. For those living in California, did you feel it?

Must've been fun. I heard it's like a rollercoaster on your feet. Do people usually lose balance during earthquakes?

If they are strong enough. It's kinda like being on the deck of a boat sometimes.

They interrupted King of the Hill for a "special report" about that earthquake... one I didn't even feel! I didn't even hear the house creak or anything. Lame. 4.7 isn't too terribly big, but big enough, I guess.

I was working on the last issue of the paper when it hit. We're on the sixth floor so it was kinda fun.

People actually ran out the door and down the stairs. A few of us hung out to work on the last pages, but then decided to say fuck it and head out for some air.

It wasn't anything huge for us.

Got home and few things were knocked over, but nothing major.

Yeah, at the apartment it only knocked our tiger figurine off of the television, so nothing too bad. Oh, and it knocked the walkie talkie down in my booth at work. What got to me is that the booths actually moved during the shaking... I mean, they are cemented to the ground and made of metal. To see them moving like that was kinda freaky.

So yeah, we had another one today. It was an aftershock of the first, but it's the biggest one so far and the only to get coverage. Same area, but this time a 4.1... and this is on the same fault that caused the Long Beach quake back in 1933, that was a 6.4 I think. Why do I have a feeling that while I'm on vacation a big one is going to hit and I will come back to a collapsed apartment building?

I was watching Star Trek in Long Beach when it hit. I didn't feel anything....or maybe I did and thought it was from the SFX.

I felt the one today. It was weak/disappointing.

Haha! It sounds funny to me that a quake could double as a special effect in an action movie.

The one today's lasted for like 2 seconds.

That's funny about Star Trek. We were in the Inland Empire last night watching an advanced screening of Terminator Salvation and the floor kept shaking from time to time. We assumed it was because the movie was just really loud, but we figured if there was another aftershock it just added to the movie.
