I should get me one of those too...

Last week was a busy one.

Was a zombie for a shoot on Monday lasting until 4 in the morning on Tuesday.

Then worked Labyrinth Masquerade on Friday and Saturday, after a couple days of working on my costume. I worked check-in, coat check, the hookah lounge, and Brandon did goblin wrangling. I had lots of fun, when I wasn't working, just walking around, dancing, and talking with lots of people. Our feet were so sore.

Me and Brandon (who's wearing my Gallifrey One UNIT gear).

And then on Sunday we went to the Magic Castle, which I managed to score invitations to so our old family friend, visiting from Australia, could go. I got to say the secret password to the owl and the bookcase opened (different bookcase from the one in the pic below), shouting song requests to the ghost playing the piano, and Dad got pulled up on stage during one of the performances. It was great.

I need to come up with things to do to get the hell away from Facebook for the weekend.

I'll probably try hanging around Hollywood tonight and we've got a beer tasting tomorrow and maybe free Shakespeare.

I know someone selling Saturday tickets to Comic-Con, but I keep insisting to myself not to buy them for the fact that I KNOW it's going to be terrible. Need to come up with something worthwhile to do instead.

My friend and coworker cracked a tooth and had to wait for her oral surgeon to pencil her in for "emergency surgery", so I have been picking up all of her hours this week. I don't get a day off until Tuesday.

Well, glad to know she's better now.

Heading off to book club soon. Oh boy, I get to talk about the "The Secret History," which I disliked so very much.

Had a visit this past weekend from my cousin's son, and looks like we're getting a visit from Brandon's mom and grandma next weekend. Then our friend, Katie, is dropping in from NorCal near the end of the month. We get to briefly be a B&B again.

I think I suggested to Rosy something about reading books in a mausoleum and now I just want to do that.

God, it's been ages since I've posted here. What have I been up to. Uh, I work in Telecom now i've moved out of sales. At this point I've sold everything from Fuses to Quarter of a Million dollar home theater systems to millionaires in wine country.

Spent a chunk of time unemployed and miserable doing freelance IT work to pay the bills.

I've been on and off in the poly scene and I've been seeing the same girl for three years and some change it has it's ups and downs and I still crush on someone pretty hard but that's life!

Good to see you, Spartan! It has been a while. Happy to hear you're employed and seeing someone.

Seems like crushes are totally normal, even in monogamous relationships. It's just a matter of whether or not you act on it or how much the third party affects you. Well, I'm sure you know, having experience in the poly world.

Heading out of town in a week for another wedding in Washington. I'm excited to get another road trip up there. Staying with my cousin in Sacramento on the way up and down.

I've got a friend's bridal shower this Saturday. I'll be missing her bachelorette party since it's the same day as Brandon's cousin's wedding. So many weddings this year.

Been getting everything installed on my new computer.

A friend of mine picked out the parts. The only change from that is a different monitor and only 4GB RAM due to an offline deal that wasn't as good as hoped ($40 for an unknown stick I narrowed down to 4 or 8.)

Nothing else really changed though. Still hate my job, still somewhat oblivious socially, still can't get away with slapping customers with cacti, etc.

Go you on getting a new compy, Chev.

I'm in Sacramento right now. We weren't supposed to get here 'til tonight, but my cousin had called to ask if we could spend more time here and since Brandon can't take Wednesday off we left Washington a day early and got here at 4 this morning.

It's been another good trip up the coast. Tomorrow we're going to take the long way home, driving on the eastern side of the Sierras down the scenic 395. See about visiting Mono Lake and the parts of the 395 north of Manzanar I've never gotten to see before.

We've been sleeping in a different place every night for the past week. It's only at my cousin's, here, that I've been able to feel at all comfortable with a clean bed and a decent shower.

I mean, here's what one of them looked like:

I haven't really had wi-fi most of this trip, so I'm really behind in EVERYTHING.

This weekend's mostly been anime convention meetings (got some interesting news from a friend at the ALA meeting yesterday), but we've got Stitch's dog's charity walk this morning.

Hoping to crash the Viking Festival after one of the Hanadoki Con meeting this afternoon.

VERY busy, actually. (HI EVERYONE)

So I'm currently in school full time. This time I actually plan to follow through. I've had too many problems with anxiety and depression holding me back from attending classes and achieving any goals, but I'm completely over that and have been after taking care of my mental wellness for approximately a year now. Woohoo!

So I am attending school this semester to be what I've always really wanted to be: a teacher. Specifically, I decided I'd like to teach physics, so that should be fun. I'm only attending school two days a week, though, and those days also happen to be my only days off from my full time job, while also trying to maintain a serious relationship. So, I'm exhausted at all times and have no idea how adulthood works.

When is nap time.

Cool update Phoenix, definitely stay in school! If you enjoy it then there's a reason for that. So stick with it and do what you like.

Anyways, sorry I haven't been around much guys. I think my last main update here was basically that I ragequit my job... well bills called so I went through an agency to land back at the first pharmacy I worked at. Which I also hated. I love how the agency decided to reveal the "true" schedule on the final day when finished paperwork, so they had me in a corner. Basically, I've been doing about 9 hours 6 days a week. And although I'm in the best shape of my life, this kind of work quickly reminded me that this is probably how Batman felt when Bane broke his back.

Trying to juggle 50+ hours of work and school just isn't my thing either. So that's been hell too. Luckily my first 8 week class ends this week and I've got two days off (which I'm not sure if they approved, but 3 supervisors should know about it...) sadly I might cancel my next class though, unless I find a new job like... this week.

Nap time definitely sounds good right now.

Congratulations! Hope it's going great if you've started at the new place already.

Was at a wedding this weekend. Couldn't check anything since the hotel charges $10/day to use their WiFi.

Started my job this week. I'm pretty much getting up at 6, getting ready, driving to work, working, driving home, and then looking at the internet for a bit before it's practically time to go to bed again and continue the cycle. No wonder people live for the weekends.

NEW JOB... again?

Finally landed another permanent job and it's quite a raise compared to what I'm used to. Great schedule, good benefits that kick in after 30 days, etc, I'm excited! Hopefully the job itself isn't too bad heh.

Eeek, another reason I hated CVS myself. Different shift 5 days a week. Yuck.
