This movie is a visual orgasm. It definitely lived up to its hype. I'm glad there's actually a movie that obviously uses every dollar of its budget.

Historical film indeed.

Now officially my favorite movie.

If anyone has not seen this movie yet, there's a problem. Go and see it.

It'll be hard for me to get over how douchey the main character looks as a blue thing.

Believe me, he's stil awesome. He sort of looks annoying in the trailers, but the movie itself is just pure awesome.

That said thouh, if you don't absolutely love it, you'll probably completely hate it. I don't know of anyone who just sort of likes it.

Most of the reaction I've been getting of it is "Pretty. Basic plot. But pretty."

White, male outsider meets previously believed savage/fictitious people, falls for one of them, then turns against his superiors (former or otherwise) to join the cause/protect the people in question?

Yeah, I think I'll go see "Princess and the Frog" again.

In all honesty, though, I keep hearing that all this movie did for them was make them appreciate "District 9" all the more.

I love action movies, but I really don't like how CG is taking over.

Rogue, don't listen to the critics. This si a movie that MUST be seen. Not for the story, but for the emotion behind it.

Honestly, this story does nothing hugely unique, except o course the awesome world created. However, that's not the point of the movie. The point is the world, the emotion, everything behind it.

I just saw it a second time, and it's still extremely awesome. A movie that must be seen to be believed, but still one that must absolutely be seen.

I didn't think the emotion was all that powerful. I'd recommend it for the awesome visuals pure and simpuru. Oh and for the final battle scene. That battle was ballin'.

QFT

This film is definitely something to be seen. The plot isn't bad, just not as original as I'd have liked it to be. I feel like this is one of those movies that can only be experienced in the theater. The visuals won't be as awe inspiring once it comes to DVD....even if it does come with 3D glasses.

The computer generated graphics are far better than anything ever witnessed. This movie doesn't look like a Final Fantasy cut scene. It looks real.

Yeah, see it for yourself Rogue. Floating islands? omgyes.

Saw it in an HD/3D theater myself, absolutely breathtaking. As others have said the plot is fairly predictable, but the execution and all that is perfect. Truly something we'll be talking about 10-20+ years from now. Incredible experience, DO NOT miss this before it leaves theaters.

Saw it in 3D IMAX and it was amazing... and Shuyin I agree totally with you on the Fern Gully thing, more than the other three it was Fern Gully. But yeah, it was pretty and I really enjoyed it.

Another thing I really liked was the score by James Horner (guess he did the original Aliens too! So easy to tell), with so many action films thesedays plagued by "general bombastic militaristic 101" stuff ... etc, the music for this one was a breath of fresh air.

The OST by itself is breathtaking. The song "War" (which I'm assuming covers that entire final fight) is probably one of the most epic battle themes I've ever heard.

Anyways, probably going to see it again this weekend at the IMAX (apparently we didn't see it there the first time, I had no idea!)...

Oh and now I want to watch Fern Gully again.

Yeah I know. I haven't seen Fern Gully since I was seven or so I think.

But yeah, Ben and I are planning to go see it again this weekend at the normal theater for comparison (apparently the non-IMAX version is a bit more widescreen) so we wanted to check it out. Plus I would like to compare 3D to non 3D as the glasses did bother me for half of the movie.

Yeah, it was my first 3D movie at a theater and it did take awhile to get used to it. I wasn't liking it at first but luckily I walked away fine, not something I'd do too often though... definitely felt a bit of motion sickness at the start.

And suddenly the masses are claiming 3DTV is the next big thing... count me out. I just got an HDTV and it's totally fine.

Yeah, the 3D craze is a bit insane right now. Nvidia is coming out with a 3D graphics engine so that you can play games in 3D. It looks neat but I really don't think that it's worth it.

But hey, isn't it extra annoying to put two glasses on?
