Was watching Obama's speech.

It was great.

I was so sick and exhausted when Obama came on... I slept through a good deal of it but still ended up impressed. Honestly, the speeches given at the DNC were SO much better than those given at the RNC... and that is my statement after setting aside my bias and just looking at what was said.

Hear hear.

What's so damned depressing is having friends who, despite these rousing speeches being broadcast into the ether with there supposedly being a dead heat between Romney and Obama, say things like, "I don't care, I'm just going to vote for Voldemort" or whatever.

I dunno, maybe it's just from living in California so long where our electoral votes almost always go to the democratic candidate.

I'm not very political myself, but complete apathy on this? It's disappointing that they just don't care.

Yeah, I nearly went off on one of my friends that posted a picture that said "Don't Vote, Play Halo"

And another that still dislikes both candidates... because he dislikes government in general (at least he has moved on from conspiracy theories...you might know who I am talking about)... says that he won't vote at all unless he can find a third party candidate that he likes. I can at least respect his reasons, at least. The only thing he is really certain about is that he does not want Romney to win... so we have that in common.

I think that moving to a battleground state has made me more political-minded. I have friends here that think that politics are "stupid" and never like to talk about them... I will be dragging their asses to the polls come November. None of them like Romney.

It's the high number of people there who think like that, not to mention the vast quantities of swing voters (whom the rest of the country tend to think are morons for not being able to make up their minds), that makes PA so damned important along with Florida and Ohio.

Thankfully it looks like Pennsylvania is swinging blue this election.

Ohio is the trouble child yet again.

The going joke is Obama and Romney are going to spend an ungodly amount of money to see who'll get to be president of Ohio.

This is mostly coming from people expecting everything to have been perfectly fixed in under 4 years. Unrealistic expectations, people. There's still plenty of work to do, but things are DEFINITELY better than 4 years ago.
