Baumgartner was going for the records of highest jump, longest freefall, breaking the sound barrier, and highest balloon flight. |

| I guess that sort of jump has been attempted before but not from that height, hence the records he was gunning for breaking.

| I'm amazed there's no video up yet, since they had video with a montage and everything put together instantaneous when the mission was aborted a few days ago.
Kind of interesting, though, that the re-scheduled date (yesterday) was the 65th anniversary of Chuck Yeager breaking the sound barrier for the first time. Quite a coincidence. |
