| Stupid, STUPID humidity. It was 76 degrees today, which should have been pleasant, but the haziness made it feel like it was in the 90s (according to Brandon's phone thermometer which includes "feel," apparently?).
Just glad I'm not in Vegas. |

| Now that we're almost into August, I have to say over here in KS this has been one of the most boring dreadful summers in awhile. Sun has barely gotten out. We've been a bit dry for years so we needed the rain, but damn... can the clouds just go away for the rest of the year now? Sheesh! Talk about gloomy. | |||

| It's been raining off and on for the past three weeks. Each storm we've had this month has actually been named and we're getting water spouts touching down on the beach. You could hear the pouring through the ceiling.
This one is Pacific Storm Eric, this week. Last week it was Pacific Storm Derek and before that Pacific Storm Carolyn. It was insanely bad driving home from work yesterday since my work is closer to the ocean (about 3 miles or so east AND north of it). There were parts where the water reached halfway up the cardoors of the vehicles around me. No idea how high it was on the SUV I was driving. But yeah, you seriously could have kayaked down some of the streets. Then when I got home, it was as though it barely rained at all. Last night, though, I was woken up by the sound of thunder that could have been from a movie. We RARELY get thunder that sound like more than a low rumble. This shit was LOUD. I'd have loved that if I didn't have to try to go back to sleep for work, finding that then impossible (worst part was it woke me up at 3 a.m. and then there wasn't any more epic thunder  ).

| Yeah we had a week like that a little bit ago.
... I miss that week. Granted, we are not getting anywhere near the level of snow that we did last year, so I am okay with that. And not as many polar vortex nightmares... I hate subzero days. |

| We had cold here for maybe a couple weeks, but it's since been yo-yoing around the 60s and 80s.
The trees are only now changing color and dropping leaves because they don't know what to do otherwise. |

| My favorite thing about the spring/fall weather is being able to keep my room window open at night. We've got a lot of trains in Kansas obviously, thankfully none too close here but you can always hear them in the distance. That, the night wind, some cars on the road, and the bustling trains in the background... I can't get enough! haha, I wonder if there's CD mixes of this ambiance.
