Anyone have one? I did and still do, it actually works still to. lol The first colored screen for a handheld. It had some great titles like shining force, and nuclear strike. Well just post back with your thoughts on this handheld system beyond its time.

Other than being freakishly huge and requireing some many batteris, I thought the Game Gear was pretty good.
And it was kind of ahead of the Gameboy when it first came out, since it had better sound, and color. The Sonic games were good, but other than that I can't really think of any other good games for it ... ![]() |

i thought it was ingenious though a little to ahead of its time(like everything sega does) it was an entertaining system with great games but took to many batteries thats about the only problem with it.

Yeah, I think I still have that system sitting around somewhere in old game systems and games. But yeah, I hate that I could only get a few hours out of the system from the 6 batteries you had to put in there. I bought mind about 6 or 7 years ago (I don't remember exactly when) at a flea market for only a few bucks. I only bought a few games for it since I didn't like the battery situation, but it was a good system nonetheless. I've seen somewhere where you can plug a TV receiver in there and watch regular television. I don't know if anyone has tried this though. (Last edited by VGFreak877 on 03-10-05 12:06 AM) |

It was way ahead of the game boy. Just as the Sega Nomad is still ahead of the Gameboy advance. Not the Ds I guess though. But Shining force, Golden Axe, and Crystal Warriors seemed like the best games on it to me. Who cares about about the batteries, just buy a plugin. |
