Okay this is what I've found out because I'm such a fan girl =P

There's a big difference in many anime series and manga series. If you look around a lot you'll find a lot of the manga goes into more detail than the anime. Then again the manga would be a totally different type of plot line.

Escaflowne for example, the anime had almost absolutely nothing to do with the manga. The only thing that seemed the same was Meryl's character design and some of the plot line. In the anime Van didn't need Hitomi in Escaflowne with her. Finally with the movie it was a totally different plot line and a parallel to the story line.

As you can see Revolutionary Girl Utena and Utena The Movie: Adolescense of Utena has nothing to do with each other. Just like before they both are parallels of eachother. Has anyone but me noticed that they changed Anthy's personality from the innocent little bird she was to a more open minded character?

Manga series such as Sailor Moon go into more detail than most of the series. In Sailor Moon Stars all of the Sailor Scouts had an eternal form. The outer scouts all had castles circling their planets, in the anime series it doesn't go into much detail on Sailor Mars's first love and her favorite flower unlike the manga series. If you read Gravitation the manga takes place when their graduating high school and all the characters go into more depth.

Magic Knight Rayearth on the other hand is different. The anime goes into way more detail than the manga series. Almost like Angelic Layer as well. Magic Knights Rayearth and Rayearth 2 only has three novels in each series.

Meh... I'm not much for writing, but I personally know I'm not the only one that notices this... XD

Really, for some animes I'd really only watch the anime for fight scenes, and things like that. I've done this with Naruto, and it's fine.

Manga's do seem to go deeper and you seem to get more out of the characters with them, when compared to watching the anime.

But if you watch the anime, you can also kind of see more of the characters actual character, like how they act, and reflect on things, and so on.

Then again I haven't really read a manga that's been really different from the anime, so I guess I can't really state my opinion on this.

i thought everyone knew that

as for SM, there's a perfectly logical reason why it's so different. the SM manga and TV series were made almost simultaneously. unlike many other mangas, the TV show was not made after the manga was finished, but rather was made almost side by side.

I'm such a ditz for not remembering that. I remember that the anime was way ahead of the manga so they put in the Allen and Ann part so that the manga could catch up.
