| I know how a lot people say that widescreen is awesome, but I wonder why they think that. Unless you're watching something on a movie screen or a very large TV you problaby won't get the over-hyped effect you're hoping for. Full screen is what I like better. You can see more in my opinion. | |||

| Even though it's been years since wide-screen has been a big deal, I still don't really favor it over full screen or vice versa.
Just whichever I guess, I'm fine with both. |

| The way technology is going you will probalaby be seeing more widescreen dvd's beacuse I think the HD TV's are bult in widescreen mode and they supposely work better on HD tv's. Whenever there is an option bettween widescreen and fullscreen I usually choose widescreen but I don't mind watching movies in full screens. Plus HD is the wave of the future. | |||

| Full screen cts off parts of the film so you're actually seeing less of the movie. The edges ofthe film are sliced to make them square so they'll fit on a square television screen the process iscalled Pan and Scan.
Wide screen actually shows you more of the movie overall because it doesn't slice off those edge bits where an entire person could be eliminated from the image. |

| Me likies full screen. there was a time when I was stuck watching a movie widescreen, and it bothered me at first, but after watching like 3 movies on hte same TV (no remote to change to fullscreen), I began to not really notice it, however, when I do notice it, it PISSES ME OFF! BASTARDS!

| I much prefer widescreen. The directors and such filmmakers created the movies in widescreen with the intent to utilize more of the shot. It has a more dramatic effect and more of what you miss with full screen is picked up.
Full screen is just inferior if you want to see what the filmmaker intended. What's more even with full screen there are times when it switches to widescreen for complicated, theatrical scenes and so on anyway. Even the VHS and DVD editors don't want to screw with the huge dance numbers or stunts one might miss. |

| I prefer the widescreen. Anyway that's just because of the fact that I've gotten more used to it. Plus I love the fact that there's a tiny bit more scenery than in fullscreen. | |||

| its all about the full screen. when you get wide screen people say "you see more on the sides" but who cares? not me. i meen thata little bit of a guys elbow dosent really matter. and there are always big black bars on the top and bottom takeing up your precious screen space. | |||
