I had an idea of maybe putting some Anime music on different pages of Xeogaming. I

mean.. This has probably been discussed before.. and I'm sorry if this is a really bad

thread.. but it was just a thought. I mean, quite a view xeogaming members like anime

music.. so why not give it to them? Also- If this happens.. be sure to put a stop button

somewhere for people who don't want to listen. =) [To make sure you know- for site pages.. not like giving out music.. so I don't get flamed]

Lol, this isnt' a bad thread =P
The load time for us dial up users >shakes fist vilolently< would be horrible for each load up page, though I'm sure Dark Slaya would know how to put in a new option in the profile for "Enable Music"

Then again, there's always the factor that not everyone likes the same type of anime music o.O For one, I like the calm type, a few of my friends hate it, and like the heavy rock verison of Anime music, just as an example.

The the large veriaty alone would be a difficult spot to do, let alone taking up even more space for the music itself (though the music files would pale in comparision to the board's size o.O)

Anyway, as I was saying, It wasn't a bad though, but there's enough downfalls to it that it probably wouldn't work too well.

it's a good idea, I can already think of a lot of great idea's that can come out of this, but also it's going to be a lot of work probobly for either Xeo or Dark Slaya.

Depends. I don't know how much bandwitdh we use, and this would definitly make it go up.

But if we were to do it, putting an Enable Music option would be easy as *insert real easy stuff here*

Either that or it would be kinda hard to upload music...rather than that...we can just have short samples...

ive tried uploading music videos. it didnt turn out to well.. I havnt tried doing actual .mp3's yet but im sure it will work better.

Eh, this is a really bad idea not only from a technical stand-point but a usability standpoint..

Reminds me of all those really bad myspace accounts with 5 songs and 2 music videos on them.

I don't know about you guys but almost ANY time I'm at my computer, I have iTunes open and am listening to music. So when a website has embedded music it only serves to piss me off.

I don't want to listen to music embedded in websites, I never really want to go back to the website ever again unless there is something I absolutely need.

I used to use this site for Age of Empires 2 Downloads and stuff but they added music and I've never gone back.

Bandwidth would be more limited and the music would just be an annoyance because for
1) Not everyone wants to listen to you god damn crappy ass anime music.
2) Dial up users
3) Fucking annoying
4) hmm what else...oh yea, really fucking annoying especially when I'm trying to listen to my own music.

Ok.... did you read the whole thread? Look.. I said to put a stop button.. just incase there are people who don't want to listen at the moment. It would brighten up Xeogaming.. and the majority of people don't mind. Myspace? Who said anything about myspace.. I don't like it.. but now thats my opinion. Ok well, probably more than 1 track on the whole site. Like, a new song for each page.. Some could be put into humor. (I.E: Some failure music in the Closed threads.)
HOBO conductor... what about the people that do? Are you too lazy to hit a stop button ? =P

Its "HoboConductor" not Hobo Conductor or HOBO conductor or whatever you guys may think it is, there is no space just type it the way I have it setup; typing my username correctly is not that hard of a feat yet so many people seem to mess it up.

I don't want to have to hit a stop button evertime I visit this website. This is generally why I don't enter profiles that have music embeded into their coding. Its not the fact that you may think I'm lazy its just no point in having to hit a stop button on a webpage to have it be enjoyable. The webpage should not have annoying music, but if you're going to have your annoying music then have the decency to at least put it in a seperate part of the website where it doesn't just play automatically, people should have to hit play not stop when they enter the page.

It'd suck up a lot of bandwidth depending on how many people are actually going to use it and all that technical jazz.

Wouldn't it just be a lot simpler to just share your music through instant messanger, e-mail, or one of the many many free file hosting sites available on the internet?

I don't think a lock is in order just yet, and I REALLY tend to agree with HoboConductor on this..

1) It'd be extremely annoying to have to keep hitting stop just to not have to listen to some annoying anime music..

2) It's just not usable, I don't go to myspace for this reason.

Well, bandwidth wouldn't be a problem. I remember Erk telling me Acmlm's Board used up around 3-4Gigs a month, and our limit is a very nice 40Gigs ... so, us being hardly as active as Acmlm's, you can probably figure out that it's not a problem. I don't think I'll ever have a problem with bandwidth here for years to come honestly.

However, space could be an issue here. My limit is 500mb, and with the boards growing db, all the stuff on here and the site, songs would eventually build up and probably take away a chunk of my space.

Anyways, in all honesty it's not a bad idea, but it's also not something everyone would want. Myself included. I get disinterested with sites out there that have music playing in the background, no matter what site it may be. A bands even, just whatever.

I just don't think it would be a problem to just play stuff from your own computer.

I mean it would just be out of place. What if you were at school, or people were around? And whatnot, and the button thing probably just wouldn't work.

So with that being said ... I don't think it's a bad idea, just not something everyone would really enjoy.

Embedding music in web pages is just plain stupid. Seriously even if the board had an option to turn it off, I would probaply never come again because it would be stupid to install it in the first place.

You could always open Windows Media Player, Winamp or iTunes for all your music needs. And you would be able to play the song you want at the time.

Um... guys, there is an thing that called Media Player... Yeah, you might want to play it with YOUR song on it. Secondly, if you are prefering to theme song, just make a link to where you found it from (cuz I did that one time with Naruto's Sakura and Ino? song. It appears in my bio. before the post wipe) and you might to give it a try.

Secondly, I know where one website that seem to have VARIES shitload of music so why Xeogaming have to do music when there are other website that can be used. Hell, with a request from some, I can sent the link where I found those shitload of music (both VIDEO GAME and ANIME!) but it seem to be updating... I think there are over 200+ in that website.

So I say: No music here, just let us use our media player to listen our OWN music since my PC *uck so hard that it can download one whole page at a time before a kick-off. (Seriously, my mother's internet have issue. That's why I couldn't post so often.)
