Just wondering how everyone's beating the heat. If you're in the southern hemisphere how do you bold the cold? I've got color for once. Yup color. I'm not staying inside a lot. I've been lying on a trampoline with a sprinkler going. Then there's the fact we go swimming. Other than that I stay inside or I play at 6 am.

Easy, I stay inside. But when working outside I usually dont worry about it untill I get fatigued...Water helps keep the hydration flowing, and drinking alot of that helps out alot in keeping your cool...

Either that or get a tan while wearing light clothing. Wearing white clothes reflects the sunlight away from you...Wearing black is retarded and absorbs the sunlight while generating heat inside of you....

I pretty much don't, as heat doesn't bother me. It gets just as hot in michigan as it does in the south, just not as long and less sun. The summer is usually when I get to work on video games I haven't touched in a while so I guess that keeps me away from the hottest of days. On a side note, I need to start drinking more water, I almost always feel dehydrated now.

heh, It's 100 degrees + here. how do I beat the heat? I wear long sleeves. I'd rather be hot than have sun burns that lead to skin cancer.

Just stay hydrated.

I'm already cool enough, I don't need it.

...

The heat hasn't reached very high here, I live in a pretty cool climate. In Kelowna, where my mom resides, it can get pretty darned hot.

To keep cool, I just drink alot and...yeah. That's basically it.

Or, go to a (the) mall or a Chain Store or Resturant. They're sure to have air conditioning.

We don't have heat yet. But then, my house is shaded by trees on one side, so it doesn't get pretty hot. It's still nice, at least until summer hits...then it's off to find conventions, malls, stores, and other things to keep cool.

For now, I sleep in all day and am up at night, so I avoid our catastrophic 82 degree days.

My dad has skin cancer. It's mostly non-threatening, but a couple of lesions every once in a while has to be removed. But sun exposure wasn't the sole factor in it's development. He was a heavy cigar smoker.

But, anyway, I hide inside the house, and wait till sundown before I do any work outside.

Not hot, Zabuza wear have you been?

... Oh, wait... in an air conditioned office building. Nevermind.

But yeah, it's hit the low 80s or so, but the sun is so intense that if feels so much hotter! My car's AC doesn't work so driving anywhere is hell. My solution, I stay inside for most of the day, usually at my boyfriend's house since they aren't afraid to turn on the AC when it gets hot like my parents are. If I am stuck at my house, I have my ceiling fan running and I wear loose, cool clothing (like my "Holy/Wholely Manson Shirt" that is pretty much open shouldered now).

Also, I take off my socks indoors because for some reason your feet control the temperature in the rest of your body. If you keep them warm you get warmer, if you cool them off you feel cooler.

Like Van said...the heat doesn't bother me. As I've mentioned before, that's probably got a little to do with the fact that I'm anemic and my blood's kinda thin. **shrugs** The only place the heat has really gotten unbearable for me is center city once in a while. The humidity is what kills...and then all the people and comotion going on doesn't help either. I'm sure a lot of you know what I'm talking about. So on those days, I only go downtown when I really have to and only to run errands. Otherwise, I usually hang out in NE Philly with friends, where it's like 5 degrees cooler. When it gets too hot for everyone, we usually just crash at someone's house for a little bit if we can, or we hit the mall where it's airconditioned, until we get kicked out.

Otherwise, of course I appreciate the airconditioner in the house. However, if it were up to me, I would leave it on in late in the morning/early afternoon while it heats up, and then when its a pretty steady temperature and nice and cool inside, I'd turn it off. Then perhaps turn it on for a few minutes here and there every few hours. It stays cool enough for me that way. But of course everyone wants it on all the time and then it gets too freaking cold. But then again, they all think I'm nuts for thinking its so cold. XD

I wish it was in the low 80s here.... x.x *dies of heat exhaustion* I think it was in the upper 80s today and it felt COOL, even as I was working outside. It's supposed to hit triple digits here this week.

I thought it wasn't so bad, the heat, until last night. I woke up and felt so disgusting, it was like being in a cocoon of hot freaky sweat. My solution? Open doors and fans. If you have a fan that doesn't occilate than you can have it blow onto certain objects in the room to try and get a current going. I dunno if that makes sense to anyone else, but it works for me.

Actually, that makes a lot of sense. I do shit like that in my room when it gets really hot. Our airconditioner only cools downstairs...which is good for me cuz at least I have a place to go when it gets too cold...but then...I dunno about anyone else...but sometimes it's too cold for the airconditioner, but fans become a necessity. XD So yah...stuff like that actually does work. Or when you put it in the window and have it blow all the hot air from inside, out.

(Edit: and my 100th post! 'Bout time!!!)

I feast on the souls of the fallen.

Oh, wait, that's in the winter.

For summer, I spend my nights alone in my room, with all the lights off, bathed in the glow of the LCD monitor and contemplating whom shall be my next ethereal victim. If you stray, I will find you.

I'm like pretty much everyone else, airconditioning, and water. I don't know if that will be so effective when I go to my carious activities that last around a week out of home though.

I'll probably bring a canteen, and use its water to cool me off.
