| A blast of heat and skined knees,
so the summer went. A bustling avenue with houses close together, a sight familiar to a girl of eleven. Streets crowded with cars and a small store at almost every corner may not seem special to anyone else. But I, a girl of eleven, fell in love with the sight, fell in love with that summer, fell in love with life. Two friends of eleven years, and a dog of three. Oh how wonderful that time was! Inseparable we were, the three of us, not even a change in distance could reform our love for each other. The feeling of that summer we would never outgrow. The weather grows colder and the night lasts longer another year has come and gone, but I, a girl of fourteen take one look at my friend and smile, for we have overcome one hurtle and have moved on to the next. We look to the pile of gray and white, now of six, as he lifts his head and falls back to sleep. The sun fades and the moon shines, time passes more quickly than we thought. And so we stand, she and I, saying a final goodbye to what we loved most, but we, women of eighteen, must move on. A blast of heat and skinned knees, so the summer begins. =/ Thanks. My Creative Writing teacher put so much red on the damned copy I had to hand in, I couldn't see the original poem underneath. I'm so bad at writing poetry.  I don't really care for writing it though, if that has anything to do with it.  I LOVE reading it though. **shrugs**
Just two or three more poems to go though. Then it's on to short stories I believe. THAT I'm actually excited for.  |

| Nope. There were no rules at all other than the fact that it had to reflect one of the three poems we had to read over the weekend. **sigh**
This woman pisses me off. I'm trying to like her, cuz I dun like NOT liking my teachers, it only makes the class much harder, but...she and I are a lot alike in certain ways and keep clashing. Today's class was a fiasco.  |

| Everyone comes across a teacher like that sometime in their school life.. but hey thats what makes school fun. But the poem was good i liked it gave a really good mental image.. you write like me.. very descriptive.. |
