Let me put it this way: I wouldn't want to be accepted because of my SAT score, becuase it's a test that doesn't really look for intelligence, but thinking a certain way. In same token, I wouldn't want to be accepted into a college because of my GPA, because the current system doesn't weigh actual college classes, whereas the easier "honors" at high school are weighted. Getting a 5.0 in such classes is the norm not the exception. Is one really doing "excellent" if everyone is doing "excellent?" How can one be above average, if everyone is above average. What the hell?

Basically, I read the manga and the storyline seem so predictable now. I gave up after seeing a preview of the manga so I don't bother watching a show like this...

It is about a guy named Light who happened to be in school and found a notebook at the playground that day. He went over there and check it out, only to see that it was a special kind of notebook. He took and saw the death god (whatever his name is) and they yakked about something. I agree that the plot isn't that great, but from the first episode, the character development seemed promising. I also liked the music and the scenery a lot.

Regarding your story, again, the impression I get from a character pausing so much is hesitance, though their speech would make me think the opposite. Would you be so kind as to tell more about your characters?
Also, I only noted one instance of this but "barren wasteland"? How many times have I heard the two words together?

As for me, I used to talk on a historical discussion forum, where generally, it was fun. People didn't make ad hominem or ad populem statements on the whole, and it was a nice community. Well, I think the Peace Corps or Coast Guard are mroe peaceful alternatives. "Voluntary" makes it seem as though people want to join the army, though I don't think this is the case. I've met a lot more people who do it since they need the money then people that want to kill a fellow foreigners or "serve your country."
