He's worse than Jerry Springer. At least his show is just so absurd that it's meant more for entertainment than playing people's sympathies.

With Maury's little three ring circus he takes people's suffering and puts three cameras on it and even when they run off stage he has the cameras follow them. Then he strolls in and puts on this act like he's the Christ of talk shows and acts like he cares about their pain.

What's his gimmick? Displaying the women who bring countless men with them to confirm if any of them are the father of her children.

Time was he also brought in people with physical disabilities or some sort of sideshow-like appearance and displayed them like the ringmaster that he is and then give them outrageous prizes because they are who they are.

Anyway, Maury is the type of bastard that cuts his wrists open (figuratively speaking) and presents it to the camera to watch him bleed. And who does he bleed for? The poor, the sick, the huddled masses yearning to breathe. That's right, Maury wants us all to know that our ills are his bread and butter.

So to hell with him... and to tell hell with Montel. The other bleeding heart asshole who doesn't even let his guests complete a thought because he's too busy telling their stories for them.

OK, I need to get back in school because daytime TV is brain-rotting.

Well, then that ventures into an area where anything could violate someone's idea of happiness. A law-abiding, tax-paying citizen could be completely outraged with the fact that homosexuals live in his neighborhood and try to argue that their presence violates his rights. It's their happiness, but it's pissing off the neighbors who don't want "their kind" near their home.

Or for another scenario, one could argue that a woman who's said that were she to go into a cardiac arrest, she doesn't want anyone to help her, much to the dislike of her family. It's her wish, but to allow her to die is not something her family wants.

You could also get incredibly anal retentive with this one and say that anyone who calls the police on someone for someone else and they aren't attached with the situation is violating the rights of the people they are calling the police on.

Maybe I'm reading too far into it, but it feels like there are more toes getting stepped on with this wording.

A thread just had to be started about this eventually.

I haven't gone to see it and I doubt I will while it's in theaters, but all ready I've been hearing people arguing that if you don't see this film and love it with every inch of your soul, you're not a good American.

How can anyone claim such a thing? It's just a movie, and moreso one that's trying to rake in the big bucks claiming it's the must-see film because of the controversy surrounding it and such.

It's just another Brokeback Mountain or Passion of the Christ.

Anyone have any thoughts on it?

The people I put up with on a daily basis (God help my sanity.) Not some foreign 3rd world country. Thanks.

Ouch. Really... fucking ouch.

This forum, and board for that matter, are not for you to post your own personal rants and expect people to either leave it be or do nothing but agree.

Originally I was going to leave this lackluster topic alone, but if you "dont know about other countries, and quite honestly [you] don't give a rat's ass," then where do you come off posting a rant about being ashamed to be American? Quite frankly, it's things like that that people say that make me ashamed of Americans--a complete and total arrogance and non-caring attitude toward the rest of the world.

No, that pseudo-intellectual argument that America "deserves a bad reputation" doesn't hold up if you don't give justification to your theses. Back up your claims and expect people to play devil's advocate to you.

I'm sorry that you're "almost ashamed of being American" because you're a teenager and surrounded by (OH MY GOD!) teenagers, but where do you draw the conclusion that because you drown yourself with the negativity and the often low sophistication of your age-level it's the country's fault?

All right... fine... how about you move to a country where people don't have the right to divorce or where people go through that wonderful character-building suffering everyday? Hell, take out your little globe, spin it around and go to wherever your finger lands. See if living here is so bad afterall. Go on, go to a place where "the family" is such a high priority that women are beaten and oppressed and not allowed to think of anything but making more and more babies, where women are not allowed to show more than their faces, not let their hair down, and where showing even your ankles is a crime.

Sorry, our morals are too loose for you.

Found this link by accident and decided to post it.

It's a bunch of poems that were found written on bathroom walls.

In case the link goes out, here are the poems:

I whole-heartedly agree that the show is much better than the movie. I LOVED the show.

Although the movie was meant to tie up some loose ends, I thought it didn't do the series justice.

The fake teaser is all right, but it just looks like a fan video to me, and that's what it is. Usually teaser introduce a new problem or at least hint to what the movie would be about in the slightest. It just looks like an homage to the show, otherwise.

Interesting... easily chipped, eh?

My pirate name is:

Iron Charity Flint

A pirate's life isn't easy; it takes a tough person. That's okay with you, though, since you a tough person. Like the rock flint, you're hard and sharp. But, also like flint, you're easily chipped, and sparky. Arr!

Yay, massive bumping! But... I'm adding another of these to the thread, thus not the bad kind of bumpage. Yes, I know, no one cares about these things, but if you're bored enough, they aren't so horrible to fill out yourself.

1. Where were you 1 hour ago?
- Eating ramen at the Japanese restaurant near the college after going through walk-in reg with Christina (kittybob) and Brandon (Zoso).

2. Who will be your next kiss?
- More than likely Brandon.

3. Is there anything pink within 10 feet of you?
- This plastic watering container for Zoso's mother's plants and a plastic cup I was drinking juice out of.

4 When is the last time you went to the mall?
- Friday with Pat (Junkie) so he could buy a new wallet. It had been a LONG, LONG time before that.

5. Are you wearing socks right now?
- Nope.

6. When was the last time you went out of the state?
- Sometime in June. Went to Mexico with Zoso.

7. Have you been to the movies in the last 5 days?
- Yep, saw Little Miss Sunshine and Another Gay Movie.

8. What was the last thing you had to drink?
- Peach juice.

9. What are you wearing right now?
- My black Anime Expo T-shirt and a brown skirt.

10. Have you been in a car wash?
- Not recently. The ones near us say, "Enjoy the show," when you pull your car through.

11. Last food you ate?
- Chicken ramen and gyoza.

12. Who was the last person you talked to on the phone?
- Zoso's little sister who just called 3 minutes ago to say she and Zoso's mom are on their way home.

13. Have you bought any clothing items in the last week?
- Technically no, but Zoso bought a T-shirt that I had picked out yesterday.

14. Do you have a pet?
- Yes, two cats and a bird.

15. What's the last sporting event you watched?
- Competitive hot dog gorging.

17. If you could be anywhere right now, where would you be?
- At Comic-Con with temperatures lower than 110 degrees.

18. What is the last thing you purchased online?
- Order on Amazon--a copy of Hopeless Savages, Erotic Myths & Legends (Not near as cool as it might sound. They should replace "Erotic" with "Sappy Attempts at Romanticism"... any sex is yadda yadda'd), Tramps Like Us (still waiting for it in the mail).

21. Are you a girl/ boy?
- Jeez... ask about this now. I'm female, but the username color would imply otherwise.

22. Last play you saw?
- *Looks through calendar* I've seen many stage performances this past year, but one I've seen resembling a play was at a faire at the beginning of June, but the last "official" play I'd seen was the day before that--"Sherlock Holmes and the Saline Solution." The day before that I went to see Captain Jack Sparrow's series of one-act plays that she produced at the college.

23. What are your plans for tomorrow?
- No plans as of yet.

24. Who is the last person you commented to on Myspace?
- Don't have a MyMemeSpamWhoreSpace.

25. Ever go to camp?
- Sure...

26. Were you on the Honor Roll in school?
- Yes, up until my senior year in high school. Was for a time in college, but became much more apathetic and if I'm on it, hey whatever.

27. What do you KNOW about the future?
- That it's still ahead of me.

28. Are you wearing perfume or cologne?
- Random body spray I just sprayed on.

29. What time is it now?
- 4:24 p.m. Pacific Standard Time.

30. Where is your best friend located?
- I don't have best friends, just people who are in on an inside joke that only makes sense to us. But to answer the question for some of those people, Zoso is on his way to work on the 405 freeway, kittybob is at her parent's house getting ready for work at 5, Zabuza would be on his way to work by now probably on the 110, but I'm probably wrong. Junkie is at his house playing WoW. I don't know where any of the others are.

31. Do you have a tan?
- I'm naturally a very light brown which tanner than most Caucasian people (which I resemble), but I'm a slightly burned from being out in the sun all of yesterday.

32. How old do you want to be when you have kids?
- I'm not of the mind to have children.

33. Do you collect anything?
- Comics, graphic novels, convention badges, foreign and cult films, Indonesian and African masks, photos with celebrities, and I used to collect swords. I have all sorts of strange things in my random collections of different postcards, old programs for shows, ticket stubs, con badges, various things signed by celebs and such.

34. Last time you got stopped by a cop or pulled over?
- I don't drive, but the last time a cop ever crossed me to tell me to stop doing something was two years ago with Zoso. We were walking around on a private beach at night and a cop came out of nowhere with a flashlight.

36. How do you like your drinks?
- Anything is fine, but I prefer sweet to bitter, although I love beer. Lately rum has been my poison, especially Taboo.

37. Do You Like Hot Sauce?
- Meh. I could go either way.

38. Last time you took a shower?
- Yesterday morning before going to Nisei Festival.

39. Do you like someone?
- Sure, but more love him really.

40. What is your mood?
- Meh..

41. Are you someone's best friend?
- Most of my friends follow the same friending policy I do, but I guess I am since Brandon said I was.

42. What's the last TV show you watched?
I'm watching Hellboy on TV right now, but the last TV show I watched was Spin City before I changed the channel.

43. What was the last vacation you took?
- I've been on summer break since the end of May, but the last time I went on holiday was to San Diego for a little under a week for Comic-Con.

44. What was the last concert you went to?
- *Looks through calendar again.* Well... let's see. There've been countless concerts at faires, festivals, and clubs that I've been to, but the last actual concert that I went to see was Bad Religion in April... though you could count "Hedwig and the Angry Inch" and Bog Fest.

45. What were you doing on this day 6 months ago?
- Good grief... *Looks through calendar again.* It was Valentine's Day.. and I think went to dinner with Zoso and my parents. I can't quite remember.

46. What were you doing on this day 1 year ago?
- Argh.. OK, screw RPing going through the calendar. You know I'm doing it and that's all. It was a Sunday... I was probably driving around with Zoso or recovering from working Rocky the night before.

47. What's the last cool thing you did?
- I dunno... hung out at the Nisei Week festival yesterday in Little Tokyo. Went to the Anime Festival, watched the costume contest, watched the Nisei Festival parade, drank "Space Flavored" Japanese soda, ate ramen and curry in this nice little resturant.

Although they are the Wikipedia of the movies and TV world, they are often wrong despite not being edited by anoyone and everyone.

For over two months, the Spider-man 3 entry had the woman who plays Aunt May listed as also playing Carnage.

Then you find weird shit like this that makes you wonder about it: http://imdb.com/title/tt0227672/

What's more, IMDb has some of the worst and most disrespectful forums on the net. Someone can post a well-worded, strong argument for or against a film and they'll get 50 people coming at them with "UR FUCKN STUPID FOR LIKING THIS!"

Anyone ever have any thoughts about the site?

It's not exactly like Wikipedia, but people can submit their changes if there's need. The thing is IMDb has been wrong A LOT lately. There are also parts of it (like people's bios and movie trivia, goofs and such) that are based off of submissions.

Funny thing is I'll watch people submit problems they have with the accuracy and the changes will be made, but the problem is... even those submissions are wrong and IMDb will just change it blindly.

All right, can't expect them to be accurate all the time or to know everything, but how many people have eyes out there for them? I'll sumbit a change I KNOW is correct, but it'll never be corrected on the page. What the hell?

It's your quiz, you decide. It's just if there is anyone who REALLY wants to be on the quiz, it's totally cool with me if they go in my place. I just want more people to be happy and for more people to have the opportunity to be a part of it.

I'm cool with staying in the quiz, especially with Shaddow's having to be pulled out it might be a pain for you to fill another void, and I'm fine with pulling out if someone else wants to be a result in the quiz.

It's all good.
