It's another game of guess the product.
|
I saw this a couple weeks ago and noticed someone had posted it on another board, so I ganked the link. When I first saw it on TV, I thought it was an ad for his "director's cut" edition of his Make Love the Bruce Campbell Way. EDIT: I'm amused that there's a chainsaw next to the first fireplace. Originally posted by Katana It's funny, when I was younger and had seen snow a few times in my life (not enough to have experienced it, though, just little trips to the mountains and up north with my parents), I wanted to see it falling in a town area so bad. So when I went to visit my at-the-time boyfriend in Texas for Christmas seven years ago, and I got to see snow and get all excited about it, it wasn't until later that night and all that week that the snow not only lost its novelty, but became a nuisance. While it's pretty to look at and fun to play in the first few days, it looks hideous trapped under cars and especially when it makes the road and sidewalks all slicked over. Our car actually went into this really bad skid/spin in the middle of a busy intersection and thankfully we didn't hit anything. Yeah, snow's picturesque and all, but freakin' annoying over the course of several days (and weeks and months, I imagine). *Plans to hide from Elara in July*

So I'm most of the way through Coraline, but I keep falling asleep, or coming very close to it, when I'm trying to read it. |

I saw the preview off the "Clerks II" DVD as well and it honestly struck me as something I'd see just so I could laugh at myself (I identify with most of the things that are going to be in it). Seriously, though, even if it sucks, I'm sure it would still be funny to me. |

I hate to say it, but I've seen scarier.

Well that's amusing. And oddly fitting, I suppose. Yay, I often get confused for a trash can.
|
This is sort of funny. Here's my boyfriend's (doesn't really fit. He simply can't be mean):

This oddly enough inspired a Google search, with not so sexy results (as usual all not safe for work/kids/parents/people you just don't want seeing this from over your shoulder):

1. If you are rich, you should help others who need money.
|
Ideally yes. If you've got a bit extra it would do well to use it to help others. This is simply a universal guideline in life like "You should not write in your textbooks" and "You should not stick gum under the table." 2. You can never be too generous. I concur. It's cheesy, but it holds water. 3. Friendship is more important than love. I was under the impression that they were one in the same, or are they referring to "aquaitances" as friendship? They probably mean relationship love as opposed to simply loving thy neighbor. I suppose keeping friends from becoming lovers is important to some people, but I'm best friends with my boyfriend/lover/what have you, and I know he and I would probably still be bestfriends if we do break up somewhere down the line. It all depends on how people are with each other and if a friendship can be preserved after a break-up occurs. 4. You should forgive others when they don't keep their word. Again, ideally you should. Forgive and forget where you can. In a perfect world, everyone would be forgiving and content with one another. But then in a perfect world, there wouldn't be any need for apologies, now would there? I tend to feel betrayed when people lie about significant things with me. Trust is a very important thing (seriously, what's the point of fidelity if people are going to consistently accuse each other of cheating in relationships?), and if you can't trust a person it makes it hard to bear being around them (at least in my case it is). Often forgiveness takes time and soul-searching on the part of the offenders and those whose forgiveness they seek, but yes, I do believe in the end, all offenses should be forgiven no matter their severity. Letting go is the first step to moving on and getting on in life. 5. Love is more important than money. While I agree that if the choice is torrent, romantic passion and poverty or loneliness and endless riches, it would be wiser to choose the one less likely to make to starve to death at the end of the day, I think this is choosing from extremes that just aren't presented in real life. What street urchin, short of a magic lamp, would have to make the choice between extreme wealth and the love of his life? I doubt the question is posing that if you choose love, you'll be without any money at all. It isn't as though there's a neon "Don't hire this man, he chose love!!" sign over a person's head when he goes in for an interview at McDonald's or somewhere. But to finally answer the prompt myself, I agree that love is indeed more important than money. 6. If you are rich, it means that you are a good person. This isn't India. We don't follow a caste system or believe that karma stockpiled from a past life dictated where we would be placed in way of wealth in the next life. So with that said, I disagree that from every angle, the amount of money you are worth does NOT dictate that you are a good person now. 7. It is okay to make a person give up his/her beliefs if you have a good reason. What good reason would that be? Granted I feel that people should respect others' religions and that homophobia and racism are socially wrong, but it's also wrong to impose one's own beliefs and opinions on others. The only cases where suggesting change might be acceptable would be if a person's beliefs are much too destructive (Example: There is a Christian group that believes that doctors go against God and so when a child breaks a bone, they pray for God to fix it as opposed to setting the bone. It's their beliefs, but they might need a nudge that God might be a little too busy to worry about one child's leg). 8. If you have money, you are happy. Only if you don't live in a world of "if only"s. Often the most unhappy people are those who have the most because they worry about the "if only"s and keep telling themselves, "if only I had more of this or more of that, THEN I'll be happy." Thus they keep wanting more and ending up depressed because they dwell on the way they think things should be as opposed to how they really are. Hence why there are so many CEO suicides and rockstar ODs.

You know, this is one of those things that I always find and think about and yet, I never really got to posting a thread on the topic.
|
There are so many little nifty things that make the world slightly more interesting and beautiful to you. During finals last semester, someone stuck Ziggy comics on the coffee machine. I'm guessing to give the people who'd come looking for a fix amid the stress and frustration a laugh. I'll post more as they come. (restricted) |

So old. Nothing personal.
|
It's also been going around the 'net for years with with kids, hobbies and porn in place of "women." Still "time = the root of all evil" doesn't compute.

I haven't done anything spectacular with my hair in years. During my senior year in high school, I had the Rogue white streaks in the front (refer to my Photo album pic) and graduated with them (and wearing Niobi's glasses from Matrix Reloaded), and I had dyed it a few colors after. My state ID has me with orange hair and pinkish white in front. Then I just dyed it black and let it grow out.
|
Right now, my hair is slightly longer than shoulder-length and my natural wavy auburn, brown locks. I tend to just have it down with no gels, mousses, sprays or anything in it, and for the past few months I've worn it with my pirate bandanna over it and a few strands of my hair hanging out the front.

I'm just saying that if time is equal to money and money is equal to "the root of all evil," that means that time is the root of all evil as well.
|
Thus, you're better off with no time at all.
