Let's see. I've reviewed Morrowind and Fable... time to review my most recent new game... there's a funny story about how I got this one, but that's unrelated.

Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas
Rockstar Games/Rockstar North
Rated M
PS2

Graphics:
Overall, San Andreas' graphics are good. The blurring of everything when you're driving fast is a nice touch, and the car designs are mostly very distinct and detailed - you can easily see the gas tank during the daytime on a 13" TV, so that's saying something. There are occasional bizzare graphics glitches, but while noticeable and not entirely rare, they aren't annoying; it's mostly just missing textures here and there.
8/10

Control:
Y'know, I thought I'd have a hard time with this. But the controls are very good once you get used to them, which shouldn't take long. The only problems I had were a bit later on, with flying the planes and helicopter. Everything's very responsive, the only time you might have trouble is with the gun targeting (like Zelda's Z/L Targeting) since each weapon has a different targetting range. And manually aiming weapons is quite easy, though the speed's often either too slow or too fast.
7/10 - points subtracted for very annoying plane controls. L2 to turn left?!

Story:
I won't spoil anything, which really means I can't say shit. It's a good story, though, more than I expected.
8/10 - Good so far, haven't finished the game yet.

Difficulty:
The first couple missions are easy, just designed to introduce you to the controls. After you do a few, though, trying to live through your daily wanderings in the city is a pain in the ass, as the Ballas (a rival gang) start attacking you as soon as they see you. In addition, at around that same point, the missions jump up in difficulty. Once you get out of Los Santos, the difficulty curve goes back to a more reasonable one for, as far as I can tell, the whole game.
9/10 - Not quite the perfect balance, but still very good. Not much feels 'too easy', and many missions do require multiple tries, but they're not frustratingly hard either.

Sound:
I won't comment on the music; as you might know, nothing was composed for this game, they just took songs from the real world and stuck 'em in the game. So that's a matter of personal taste, though there are numerous stations to listen to that you can change between. Gunshots sound like gunshots, I guess. I'll be honest, some of them sound like those little toy guns, but for the most part it's not bad.
7/10

Closing: Rent, Buy, Commentary
Buy it. If you're reading the review, you're obviously interested, so running over cops and shooting rival gang members is obviously not that offensive to you - at least in video games. So buy it. As an added plus, in San Fierro you can find a katana with which to kill people. How can you not like that?

Overall, not an average: 8/10 - Flawed, but fun.

well, if Bush was Force Sensitive...

Erm.

I'd love to join ya, Cyro, but Xeo appears to be unwilling to change names for anyone not of the Dark Side. =/

Download limit? There's still ISPs with download limits?

Like Xeo said, you can probably work off the $25 if your 'diplomatic skills' fail.

Deesse, that'd only work if they don't know a thing about computers - that is, they'll probably know that you don't need to download anything to visit a message board. But hey, if they really don't know much...

So we went out yesterday to spend my allowance and to buy stuff for Dad's Welcome Home party. I was a little irritated as none of the stores we had gone to had any games that interested me. One GameStop, K-Mart, Toys R Us... but after we left Taco Bell, I wanted to go to the GameStop in the mall.

There, I found both Final Fantasy Origins AND Chronicles! And I could afford 'em both; total was ~$32.

Now my PSX collection of Final Fantasy is complete. I think. FF7, 8, 9, Tactics, Anthology, Chronicles, and Origins. =)

Yeah, that got fixed.

I am now on the light side. All who challenge me will fall, their red blood spilt by my cyan lightsaber.

... I'm a violent Light Jedi.

wait, WHAT?! They're letting us download them?

Fuck yeah, I'm in!

Of course, Xbox 360 is quite interesting, too. Partially 'cause of the lame name. Come on, with a shitty name like that, the console's gotta be good.

my SNES died. I bet it's up in heaven now, watching over me. *fake tear*

Seriously, though, I do have Dawn of Souls. But that FF1 was too damn easy, so I had to get Origins.

And I don't care about the loading times. It's freaking Chrono Trigger.

Origins has a normal mode, and an easy mode. Normal's around the same as the original. DoS is a bit EASIER than the Easy Mode, from what I hear.

I've played FFIV, and honestly didn't like it as much as other FFs. Still, it's nto a bad game. Just too damn linear for my tastes.

You don't get it. I'm not angry. I'm actually pretty cheerful while decapitating my Sith enemies.

Why is that so difficult to understand?

I beat an SNES rom, retranslated easy version I believe. I got up to the Underworld when I was borrowing my cousin's copy of the PSX one.

I like a bit more freedom to my RPGs, honestly.

Uh... yeeeeah. There went THAT idea. Your DS/PSP comparison is, in fact, the only one that follows this thinking. PSX was out two years (or so) before N64. Do try to do a little research before posting a blanket statement like that one, okay?

This huge and obvious error on your part has killed any credibility your post might have had. That's just too big a fuckup.

The grey-robed Jedi stood in the corner watching, as the two dark Jedi attacked Benja

Eh, he PMed me, too, so carry on. Except for one thing.

The grey-robed Jedi fired a quick Shock (weaker Force Lightning) at Beo

Use the FORCE, not half a dozen other things. And before you comment, Desroth, I believe you must use the methods (that is, force powers) of the Dark Side to truly be able to understand and defeat them. The Council isn't happy about it, but my methods to combat the Sith have worked, and I haven't fallen to the Dark Side yet.

The grey-robed Jedi then walked over to Benja, fired off a Force Wave, and kept on walking.

((Hey, when I see others RPing, I'm inclined to join in. This isn't my typical style of writing, but it works... And yes, I'm 'The grey-robed Jedi'. ))

I saw it. I always thought the droids were funny, myself.

It was a good movie. I wasn't disappointed. Then again, I never expect much - I avoid disappointment that way.

We had a nearly empty theater, so we didn't have to put up with a bunch of laughing kids. We went to an earlier showing, and the crowds were terrible on the way out...

Weirdest: That dream I keep having randomly about what is probably a level in Rogue Squadron 3 - but I've never played the game, ever.

Best: Maybe I should stick with the ones of PG rating and under. Hrm... I'll get back to you on this one.

Worst: Any dream that involves me falling. I always wake up sore after those.

Beo: Who said I was fighting for balance? I fight to rid the galaxy of the fools who turn to the dark side, myself. Besides that, you count on turning to the Jedi to get rid of the Sith - but if you kill all the Jedi, there will be no Jedi (because, you know, they're dead and all) and you cannot turn to the Jedi - because, you know, they're dead and all. This is ignoring the possibility of one of your fellow Sith turning against you before then. Such trechery is common amongst followers of the dark, after all. Plus, if were to turn to the light after killing all the Jedi, the possibility of the Sith attacking you would become very real, very likely, and very lethal to you. If nothing else, they will kill you in your sleep.

Just pointing out a metric fuckton of flaws in your little 'plan'. =D

Bah, were it up to me, you would be... one with the Force by now. It is unfortunate that Jedi don't kill their prisoners. It is sometimes too dangerous to allow them to live, yet the fools do anyway.

Alright, then. Now that you've use a different magazine, I'm gonna adjust my comment a but.

How many people are working on these lists? 5, 10, 15 max? You really think that such a small group of people will play enough games to make a good list? Hah, I personally doubt that each individual person had played and remembered 100 games...

*clearly doesn't trust videogame magazines*
