Honestly, I never saw Hellboy... del Toro also filmed another movie based in the same era, titled The Devil's Backbone, or rather, El Espinazo del Diablo, which also has an fantasy-like quality, but mostly a ghost story.
anyway: Perhaps when we're young and innocent, we all see a fantasy world that those who are not innocent, can not see, but that does not make it any less real. Anything that one truly believes can be true, is indeed real. Religion is a good example. A Christian woman prays for her sick son to get well again, and it happens. A witch, or Wiccan, performs a spell to make her pet better, and it happens. Spoiler: Ofelia wishes her mother to get better, recieves a mandrake root from Pan, and the mother gets better (until later in the film). Ofelia wishes her brother would be in safer arms, and recieves the chalk, draws a door to get into the captain's room, and rescues her brother (more or less). Why do they think that it's crazy for people of different religions to swear on their own bibles? After all, isn't one of the basic foundations of the American constitution freedom of religion?
I don't know what I would swear on.. Probably Darwin's Origin of Species... |

Carrot sticks will become your best friend. Either that, or your fingernails will. *shrugs*

No, to be quite honest I haven't... You're lucky to have cool friends like that.

No one's ever rated me so... not too worried about it.

While both are bad, I find cigarettes worse. With pot you don't really get much of an addiction. If you do get an addiction, it's an addiction to the feeling of being high, not the drug itself. Cigarettes on the other hand... well, I'm sure we've all dealt with what they have to offer in some way shape or form.

While the first was more artsy and technical with all those really good camera angles, the second one, "Broken," was a LOT more enjoyable.

I really see no real reason for them to do this...it's kind of retarded.

They can't change the leap year... There IS a reason for it. As most of us know, a day is not exactly 24 hours. It is slightly less (I don't know exactly how much less...). Every 4 years is when that time accumulates into a full day. If we had no leap year, our months would constantly change. Eventually, July would be in winter, although that would probably take a reeaallly long time.

The year is that long because of the hours in a day.
If they change leap year, they would have to readjust our ENTIRE calendar. That would suck. |

Originally posted by Elara I've never encountered a Wiccan who didn't learn by a book. It's a very rare thing to see a witch who learned via an apprenticeship or something like that... O.o |

I'm gifted in music. I can pick out certain countermelodies in songs that no one really pays attention to, as well as picking out the time (i.e. 6/8 time, or 3/4 time, etc), and rythms. It comes with being able to do basic ballet and playing trombone for 5 years.
I don't think I have any natural talents... just skills that I've acquired. I've learned to be natural with things. I have a knack with knowing when and how hard it will rain, and I've also a knack with animals. Nothin special. |

Okay, so I really like what Obama stands for. What exactly does Clinton stand for? I have yet to know what reforms she will bring. No one will explain it in simple terms, like someone did on Obama's website.
One smart move for Clinton is getting a MySpace account-- It means she's trying to reach out to the younger people of our population, to get them to vote (even if it is for her own gain). So will someone elaborate for me? edit-- I also realize I haven't had the time to research much on Hillary's standpoints, which is why Idon't know anything about her. ^-^ (Last edited by Belial on 03-22-07 05:50 PM) |

I can't explain my feelings about it. I don't see what love has to do with sex. I have loved someone with all my heart, but never really felt like I needed to have sex with him. I did have sex of course, but there was no love in it. I could care less if I ever had sex again. I'm not a physical person. I prefer to have my space.
For most people I find that sex is really important. For me it isn't. Sex is not love. It is lust. That is all I can say. |

Originally posted by Makura I do enjoy it. That's one of the weird aspects of my issue. I enjoy having it, but not particularly with someone I'm in a relationship with. |

Wow, I feel kinda... awkward. I didn't lose anything until I was 18. I was as "ready" as you can get for it... I hadn't known the guy more than a month... and he was a real douche about things later. I don't really care about him though.
I lost my virginity before I ever gave or received oral. |

I don't like moving... it kind of sucks. I moved 7 times between my freshman and junior year of high school. Ugh. Before that, I lived in one place for 12 years, lol. I tend to lose things when I move... so a lot of precious belongings I had are missing somewhere. Like the pocketknife my dad bought me when I was 15. |
