People will be wearing and carrying Tentacle flags for months because of this.
And then eventually they'll grow apathetic and suddenly every war we just decided to run haphazardly into will be "senseless." |

But they're being played by different people.
Honesty, I'm not sure if this is an April Fools prank or not. There's an entry for this so-called sitcom on imdb.com and the story supposedly went up March 29. Here's the article anyway: http://www.variety.com/article/VR1117962198.html?categoryid=1300&cs=1&p=0 Originally posted by Variety (Last edited by Rogue on 04-02-07 05:33 AM) |

It looks like they'll be playing off more of the jokes from the first one again like with the second.
I really didn't like DMC because of how much it milked off the popularity of the first. Most of the jokes were just repetitious statements that were little things people were snickering about in the first movie. It seemed like what people enjoyed about the first, the makers pumped more of it into DMC ultimately making it obnoxious. Suddenly everyone's a pirate, random scenes erupted from nowhere and Jack Sparrow seemed like he was doing a bad impersonation of himself. Well, enough ranting about that. Davy Jones did kick ass, however. And things like this make me smile. At World's End looks promising, but I'll probably wait for it to hit the cheap theaters before seeing it. |

I only have two games that I've obsessed that much over: God of War and Shadow of the Colossus.
I've played and beaten the first God of War so many times and with the various secret costumes. I've been creaming myself in anticipation of the sequel, but when it finally came out (it'd been marked on my calendar for months), I was completely broke. But I got to play it at Wizard World L.A. immediately after it came out. *Squee!* Shadow of the Colossus... I've beaten the game a couple times and am still going through beating the time trials so I can get all of the hidden items and abilities, but I'm not so deep in at as I am with GOW. Kratos is my personal lord and savior. (Last edited by Rogue on 04-03-07 07:56 PM) |

Just dropping in to throw in my two cents.
Love and sex are two separate things, but when they come together, they unleash bliss incarnate. I can't even express, when the two entwine, how much energy, empowerment and passion two hearts exert on one another in the throes of physical ecstasy. I swear it sometimes makes you want to erupt tears of sheer joy. Sex can be great without love, but absolutely Earth-shattering with it. Love can exist without sex (as shown by so many couples out there who either rarely have it or don't have it at all any more), and of course there's sex without love. I started having sex when I was 18, but started being physically intimate around 15. I had a sort of awakening amid making out with someone I had an infatuation for. Now there is a huge difference between being a slut and being one who shares themselves only with the occasional person. A slut will do anyone who comes his/her way without having any feeling in it, even enjoyment, while a person who happens to be sexually-active with the occasional person does not. You can be a slut for one person (in the sense of doing anything for them), but not a slut in the general definition. I completely abhor when people classify a girl who's slept with a man or two as a slut or a whore, but consider a womanizing man who's slept with 50 women a regular guy. Enough with the double standards already. |

This past weekend was all right. Not grandiose, but it went over pretty well.
Thursday, went to a science fiction society meeting and completely geeked out with new people. Friday, Zoso's band played at the San Manuel Indian Casino in the Inland Empire with Dog Faced Gods and Conspiracy Theory. Indian reservations are like being in another country with how they can bend the state laws. It wasn't Voidcrush's greatest set (for a professional stage, their sound was absolutely shitty), but whatever. Saturday, looked up venues for Voidcrush to play in the L.A./O.C. area. Sunday, saw this improv show in Hollywood where a general story is laid out and audience members go up and LARP it. Really funny. (Last edited by Rogue on 04-03-07 10:20 PM) |

Congrats on popping your convention cherry, mcw. From what I've heard SakuraCon's a great one to start on. Going alone is all right for some, but going with friends makes anything better.

I LOVE cons. They're my heroin. The only dedicatedly anime ones I've really been to, though, are Anime Expo (AX) and Pacific Media Expo (PMX). I've been to AX five years running, not only as a fan, but an exhibitor and in the most recent years as a volunteer. Other cons I've been to or frequent: - San Diego Comic-Con -- 5 years - Wizard World L.A. -- 4 years (it started 4 years ago) - Rocky Con (Cirque du Rockeil, to be precise) - Strategicon -- Lost count of how many times I've gone - Bruce Con (Also called L.A. Sci-Fi and Fantasy Con) -- Also lost count - Gen Con - LebowskiFest -- 2 years - Xena Con I've also done fan gatherings like Labyrinth Masquerade (with WhiteRose and Elara), the 30th anniversary Hollywood Bowl show for the Rocky Horror Picture Show (danced in the world's largest Time Warp), the Mallrats Reunion, cosplay parties, zombie walks, and such. Heh, I'm lame. I'll be going to a fan-made comic convention this month, and the Star Wars Celebration convention next month.

I was half-hoping it was only a joke.

I actually really enjoy (or at least used to) those commercials. They were pretty funny at first, then they started getting a bit on the hoity-toity side. A sitcom? Really?

LARP -- Live Action Role-Play

Pretty much like playing D&D or any other RPG, but acting it out. A lot of people like to make fun of LARPers such as the ones in this popular video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=j_ekugPKqFw

Usually summer is the big season for blockbusters.

Looks like we're in for another summer of sequels. Probably remakes too.

Another of these...
|
01. Do you like peanut butter? - Sure. 02. Have you ever worn old people clothes? If so, why? - Yes, but only because what I wear might be considered such. 03. Ever thought about being raped? - It's something you often think/worry about when you live near L.A. 04. What is something you avidly make fun of? - MySpace, not so much as some people I know, though. 05. What is a religion you hate? - I don't really hate any religion, although I joke that the Jehovah's Witnesses sect is Christianity for conspiracy theorists. 06. Favorite figure of power. [Bush...Satan...etc.] - The FSM. 07. Have you ever put ramen on your genitals? - Nope, but it's funny this question should follow my power figure of choice. 08. Have you ever wanted to? - ...To what? 09. Do you ever think about why the world is the way it is? - Who doesn't? 10. What smell do you absolutely hate, yet whenever you smell it, you want to smell it more? - I'm confused. 11. We have Holy Water all over my house since my mom is devoutly Catholic. 18. What's your favorite kind of bread? - Sourdough, but I won't turn down a good buttermilk biscuit. 19. Do you think Crayola is controlling the kids arts and craft's market? is it a conspiracy? - Who wrote this question? 20. What do you like to drink with your donuts? - Coffee, or some form of milk.

Wasn't it Satan who killed Job's family in a bet he made with God to prove that, although Job praised his God, enough hardship would make him curse God's name?
|
The joke out of Dogma that was said by Serendipity, the muse, about the Bible painting women as bigger villains than the Egyptians and Romans combined was something that was something I thought was intriguing, though. A woman ate of the apple and created the Original sin. A woman cut Samson's hair that made him strong. A woman asked for the head of John the Baptist. A woman inflicts tyranny over the Jews through her husband and sons and opens Pagan temples, killing the Hebrew god's prophets. A woman lures men to sexual acts away from their worship and to eat food meant for sacrifices. A couple women got drunk and tried to seduce their father to have children with them. Well I'm rambling. It does sound like he's saying "'Least I have chicken," but it also sounds like "'Least I'm not chicken." The latter makes more sense since he pretty much barreled into this room that everyone was hunched around, worrying about.
|
Of course, it's also speculated that the video's fake to begin with.
