I seen them, I just hate them. Damn, I just copy the poll...

Actually, the reason I hate them is that even through they are frickening long, it just disappoint me that some of them are missing out on something that suppose to be interesting.

I don't know very much yet, but the whole Star War series seem somewhat not interesting. I do watch them... except it just doesn't seem somewhat a good and futuristic show.

I am just going to point out my 2 views of this:

- What's so good about it?

Well, the Death Penalty does waste alot of money on someone who is going to suffer day by day... when they could just execute him or her for their wrongdoing action. However, would you want to see murderer who was released and started killing again? I think not, when this time, he or she could even blow up some innocents as well... Hence, Death Penalty may be helpful here...

- What's so bad about it? (My Strongest Point of View)

Okay, suppose let's say someone need to kill the person who threaten their life and family. Now that someone finally found out who it is, commit a homicide against the threater, and then later the police arrest him for commiting a homicide. Later at the court, you found that the defensive was talking about being threaten by a unknown person and the cops wouldn't do anything about it. You wouldn't believe that story and think he would need a death penalty.

Well, congratulation, you just kill a innocent who wanted to protect his family life... Some would call this immortal action to do, since this would reflect against most people feeling and stuff. Heck, if someone found you of something that can give you a death penalty when you never did something wrong, would you feel happy to die in a short amount of time?

I know death penalty is good for some but bad for some too... But this counts as one of the U.S. Admentment (Spelling check please.) Remember that one of them state something like:

"It is illegal to give out unusal and harsh punishment."

Wouldn't Death Penalty count as one?

Would you be happy to die because of the Death Penalty for action you didn't do?

Would you feel the need to punish the person who threaten your life and your family when there are no one to help you? (This can result in a death penalty.)

I know some would say WTF are you talking about Beowulf? but all I am saying that it is best to forgive than to punish... (in the term of someone learning their lesson.)

Look, Elara... How would you feel if all I did was just make nearly the entire post full of attack of opportunity then? Would you ever feel happy that all I did was to counter every single move before you even fight back? Would you feel happy to know that I just bypass every single post you make?

Probably no, and that why I am not going to be cheap about it.

Notes: I know you didn't teleport, but the way you move seem like you are moving at the speed of light.

Look, you think D&D rules applies here well when there are no dies involves, possibility that player run at a constant speed (when clearly all they did was walking), and you act like you know this person before they even act. Now that's kinda cheap.

Look Elara, if you use the D&D rules while I used the Fire Emblem rules, the problem is: I would attack first before you attack me. Why? I was the first to do my attack of opportunity. Until you decide to bypass the last post, making it worthless and meaningless to post it, people aren't going to feel like they are sim-battling for fun, they get their fun SUCKED out it. Heck, when Shaddow and I was fighting, just before I launch my attack, he activate his Vic Shield while I was the first to strike. I felt like I am not playing for fun at all. In fact, I felt like Shaddow made thing look like he was going to suck the fun out of it. Care to explain why do I waste a post on nothing that worth mentioning? Oh wait, let's applies the D&D rules here...

That's funny, how can a mage get his attack of opportunity by activating a magic shield where a fighter was the first to hit him? Explain that to me, Elara.

And this is what would happened later, your house blew up. Why? Because those threats you take less so seriously can actually make you think that person was telling a lie?

Oh wait, what if the police think that person just recieved a phone-prank call? Would that still be funny if the phone-pranker was served a death penalty? I know, if the murderer set the bomb up in the car, and everyone was moving away, he blew them up! Nowaday, people just can take it to the next level.

And who say death isn't unusual and cruel punishment? I know, people are so desireful for taste of revenge. So they think killing murderer will help them feel better... But the real questions are: "Have they learn their moral value lesson or not? Are they still human who wrong themselves? How would they feel, happy, sad, or just lonely?"

How would you feel if you kill a person who didn't do anything wrong (and being honest with us) and you let a murderer get away (who told a very nifty story)? Oh wait, I know... You wouldn't give a damn about anyone family. If that's okay with you, then what the point of losing a innocent father and letting the murderer get away?

~~~~~~
Okay, here is the senerio for you guys. Suppose one day you walk down the alley. All the sudden a guy hold his knife close to his coat, and the sercuitry camera was recording at that time (on a bad angle). He threaten you to give him all of the money, you shot him. Now the police found you, arrested you for murder and you went to court. There was a evidence, that bad sercuitry camera show YOU kill him and the knife was not revealed at first. They jumped to conclusion that you just kill a innocent person.
Are you happy now? Guess what? You just received the death penalty and died the other day. 2 days later, they found a secret camera that show YOU were threaten in the first place and it was clearly self-defense. All they said was: "Oh well, (insert your gender) should have done better."
~~~~~~

I don't know if you understand it or not, but today, everyone is being tricky to get other people with a death penalty. Would you feel like having 50 murderer made up a story to get 50 innocents a death penalty?

I think not... And this is clearly how I felt. Sometime, it is better to leave them in the cell and let them regret for what they have done. You can not grant yourself the right to kill people. Murderer are people, innocents are people, poor people are people, are you saying that they all worth a death penalty? The problem is: You would NEVER care about how it affect other innocent people life...

Green Mile was a prefect example of bad and wrongdoing death penalty. I think you need to watch it... It show that there are more people out there that can be wrongfully accused.

And you clearly underestimate few of people's logic too.

Look, suppose they did find the knife. But on the video tapes, it show that you pull out the guns and then he pull out a knife for "self-defense". It would have proven otherwise but when they saw you shot a "innocent" person, they could mistaken YOU as a murderer or a thug. Tell me Vulkar, did you hear that or did you just assume that it never happened? Because the chances are, they leave facts out for people who doesn't know about thing.

Look... if you want to kill some murderer, fine... But them being misrable help them to regret their action, and soon or later, they relieze that killing is wrong.

Oh wait, here is a interesting facts: You say murderer is worthly of death. Okay, then soon or later, we can say that Bin Laden is worthly of death. We can say Saddum is worthly of death. So is it okay to say President Bush is worthly of death since he "murder" all of those who try to fight for their own country (a.k.a. our enemy)?

Vulkar, I know you are pro on death penalty. But...

That fact that killing and murder isn't the same thing, but both are still mean few things: Death. Greed. Revenge. And all of those crap. Do you think life is that easy when people can alway execute other people for action they commited and want to atone their sin by helping other?

Look, if you kill a murderer who doesn't want to hurt a another being, I would see that as a murder. If someone kill a murderer who did nothing harmful to other fellow prisoner, it is STILL A MURDER. And everyone decided to kill a member by throwing the switch, it is STILL A MURDER. Why? Murder is just about the same as killing people, with or without a reason.

Tell me, do you think the government care about who get the death penalty and who doesn't? And even they do it for several time, IT IS STILL UNUSUAL AND CRUEL PUNISHMENT. Okay, since they do death penalty that break that rule, I am pretty sure the government would give out death penalty for free.

Look, Vulkar... The real questions: "Do you care about people feeling, regardless of what they did?" "Do you understood their feeling to give up something they know what worth risking?" "Do you just judge them by their way of action, without knowing that they did it to protect someone?"

Saying you don't care about everyone... wouldn't that make me and you a murderer then? Please, try to understand that some of the loved one don't want to see someone die just to protect or to help a person or group of people!

Nope. I just love how those Lord of The Ring movies are. I just let my Aragon screwed up with Gimli. XD

The problem I see in Star War was that it seem to missing something behind of the whole war or a massarce. The Lord of The Ring? Clearly, monster + human appearance don't mix very well, and I thought it was very well detailed story as well. Not to mention the graphic and plot was very organize while Star War should have gone like Episode 1 to 2 to 3 to 4 to 5 to 6. Not 4 to 5 to 6 to 1 to 2 to 3.

I just didn't like how there are too many lightsaber hitting together to give a huge bright flashes. That almost give me a seizure!

Beside, unlike Star War, they went backward in time (Although Episode 4,5,6 came out first, then made Episode 1,2,3) it leave a nice plothole if you are going backward and forward.

And the A long Time Ago, in the Galaxy far, far away... I think it is just getting to old for that and Vader should have rules our galaxy from the start. *nod*

Posted on 06-22-05 11:30 AM, in Characters Link
While some D&D provide some characters, I saw ton of them from Fire Emblem. The characters play their part prefectly and some might be bad but some are very good.

Example:

Idoun: At first, no one know her but she was a dark dragon in Fire Emblem 6: Seals of the Sword (Secret Mission). Not much was known about her but it said that she was captured by human, and those humans who uses her to get more power have broken her souls. After sealed away in the Sealed Shrine, Roy went to get his Sword of the Seals, broke the seal and unleashed Idoun out in the world. Idoun was saved by Roy (only work if Roy finished her with the Sword of the Seals) and she began to recover over time, hoping that Idoun would be forgiven by people who she hurt.

Lyon: Even through he was a prince of Grado, his father launched a war at his two childhood friends. Lyon is a nice person that Erika and Emphriam praises him for hoping to succeed his father one day. Until the war broke out, Lyon have changed completely. He was sick and weak in his own form, until he met Emphriam. He said that it was his doing that created the war. Because Lyon came a close contact with his country scared stone, Demon King have live inside of him and try to devocre him from the inside. Lyon, who only want to protect his country and help the world, was dead and the Demon King over him... He finally believe that he trust both of them to finish him off to stop the Demon King's plan. Fire Emblem 8: Sacred Stone.

Renault: Although he appear in the very latest of the game does not make him bad. He was actually about 500 years old (and still look like in his mid-30) and knew Nergal. He was hoping to revive one of his friend with a little help from Nergal but Renault saw this horrible dead being and decide not to work with Nergal anymore. He was also once Wallace's teacher, he punch Bartre with one hit, and kill one of Lucius' father (I think). Renault, in the end, have wander around in the end ever since he could remember his best buddies. Fire Emblem 7: Blazing Sword.

Matthew: Even through he was a thief, Matthew is cheery and very supportive. Matthew was also in love with Leila (another spy who work for Ostia) and there was one more mission for Leila to warm Eliwood and his company. When Leila was killed by Jaffar, Matthew saw Leila's body and dig her the grave. When Matthew saw Jaffer, he forgiven him for killing Leila and in the end, he was still thinking about Leila... Poor Matthew never have a chance to see Leila in the end. They both made a problem but Leila could not keep her part. Fire Emblem 7: Blazing Sword.

Notice that each one have their own feeling and affection as well? Both Lyon and Idoun were nice people until something have broken their souls. Renault wasn't well known in the end and still a mystery about him. Matthew loved Leila and Leila loved Matthew. Matthew felt totally brokenheart to see that Leila was dead (they were in the wood at that time, Jaffar kill Leila in a temple).

Just because you give them a background doesn't mean you know everything about them. You have to make them develop some feeling and emotion if you are to write a story. If there are no powerful emotion to speak out of, then the character would have no meaning then.

Elara, I hope you don't mind but...

As I see Elara Siannodel's background, all I see was that she was a revenger, and power-hungry. Morwen Nailo show me that she just hated her father and want to maintain neutral and helpful.

Now if I look at Matthew's background, I don't see a thieve who love a girl. I see a thieve who promise Leila to work and try to make her happy for doing his duties, even if she is dead. I see a person who was still brokenheart after the war ended... Other people may not understand him but that how should a character be.

Background, emotion, feeling, characters are people who are just like us, events that made us of who we are. Even a characters who have no memories of his life can still be call a character if you added some emotion and feeling to him.

Whew... I think I overdid it myself.

Avatar, listen... (Please, do not tell me what to do. Otherwise, you may never understand a person feeling.)

You are probably a person who never is going to give a person a chance to live if they have done something wrong. If I would see a cold heartless murderer (who have no motivation or just brutal killing), then I wouldn't mind seeing him have a death penalty (There is your horrible example). But most murderers are NOT SO cold and heartless. They also have motivation for the reason they have to kill.

And if you think about it correctly, even war is murder and everyone involved in it are murderer. Do yourself a favor, go to a Supreme Court, when a murderer get a death sentence, laugh in front of the murderer's family face. Do you think this is funny? Do you think we can just sent out Death Penalty because we like to? The family would feel like they don't exist on these planets and you are fucking with everyone life.

I don't fucking care on how long have it been, but it STILL count as a unusal and cruel punishment. Would you like to have a death penalty if you commit cold murderer? Okay, we can inject people needles any time, this way, there are no limits on death penalty regardless of what the law have to say about this. It is just like tearing limbs apart. We can do this for a thousand years, and still do it. By the time then, we wouldn't care about the unusal and cruel punishment. Heck, let take it a away and people would feel less safer now. I think you would be happy to let everyone get a cruel and unusal punishment. Would you?

Great, let massarce every single murderer by injecting needles, laugh in the murderer's face, and call it a day. Would this be something funny to think about? Would this be normally call as United State? I don't think so, because we might as well call ourselves murderer too. And when we do, should we inject ourselves the needles?

Avatar, I am only saying this is because it is better to hear that prisoner have their rights too, even at a mininal right. If you take everyone's right away, they wouldn't feel happy around you or would understand your feeling too. Bah, they might as well leave because not only you are killing murderer, you are also murderering everyone as well. Maybe a two trails may be suffice but there are only going to need one trail to last in a prison, regret their action, and if successfully, become a changed man. If he decided to be a bitch about it, then let him sat in his cold damp prison to realize what he did so wrong about in his life and how could he help other people next time. (By next time, I mean young people who need to learn what prison is all about and the moral concept of harming another or learning a lesson.)

So avatar, if this doesn't help me or anyone at all... guess what? It is MY point of view, and don't you ever fucking change it. I don't change your damn point of view because I can't control you and you can't control me. Only I can try to understand it, and I think it is better to do the same with me.

If you desire something so bad, Avatar, people are going to have a different views whether you like it or not. So don't just think that I don't have the right to speak out my feeling. Because I know YOU have feeling but you need to be reasonable with other people, not pushing them until they think you are right.

Hate to break it but there is a rule about having fun.

--------------
5. Have fun.

This is the most important rule. There is no point in simbattling if you can't have fun at all.
-------------

... Does that help settle your view about ruinning against someone's fun?

It's bound to uneven one side where a person like me normally think that other person overdid themselves by interrupting my well-thought attack and it doesn't requires charging... Plus, nowaday, charging up a attack that allow happen in one post without any actual proof or prefectly helpful hints that they are charging up for a reason, is pointless and stupid.

Beside, Roy and Marth are good counter in SSBM so your point are taken away Shaddow. Because half of the time, I got annoyed on how I kept being countered almost everytime until I found a way to take those counter advantage.

Ummm... well, the reason I haven't respond to your proposal is that well... I can't find my definition of the word "plausible".

So Shuyin, if you are saying that when someone attack first, you must take action to it, can't interrupt their attack and after the attack was completed, then you can attack afterward, right?

Beside... charging a attack is different. Normally, you would charge for 1 post and if the opponent's decide not to attack (in any type of way), and you used your charged move, then the opponent can't attack until they take action against them (dodge, get hitted, you get the idea.) and attack afterward.

Well, I would love to see True Flight take on a Mamkute or Manakete from Fire Emblem. That would be fun now...

Or maybe Tales of Destiny sprite too?

Here is some idea for "better" spriting:

Tales of Destiny
Fire Emblem (Should be 6,7,8)
Star Ocean

And I could help if you need any, Ponterios. Think as me as Backup for True Flight artwork. (Not saying she suck or anything...)

Well... I thought I might have a problem with sleeping so I thought, do I have a sleeping disorder problem?

Here is what's happened:

Most of the time, I slept so much that I rest 2 times a day... (Sometime, it is just 1 time a day.) Those 2 times a day start around 12 - 10am and start 5 pm - 10 pm giving a total of 15 hours of rest.

The problem? The problem itself. I have never get into a serious fight with both my mother and my brother, taken my time, have a little fun, and enjoy my cool room. (By cool room, I mean like easy to relax in summer cool.) I also spend a little time on things but it is mostly the rest that disturb me the most. Usually, people are suppose to rest for 7-8 hours a day but why do I usually rest for 15 hours a day?

Can anyone help me?

Oh here is some factors that may changed:

- Usually stay up late at my dad's house (but then again, I tend to wake up at 9-12ish.)
- Sometime, I stay up at night. (Usually at midnight.)

Well, do I have sleeping disorder or is there something clearly wrong with me?

Chinese Rice + My Scamble Egg (it tasted delicious depending on what I am using.) + Chopped Bacon + Chinese Gravy.

Best cook with some meats as well, can be served in multiple way. For best results, try adding some meats or misc. item you like the most in these type of food.

Mmhmm? Can't think of a better way.

Note: Most people have done the way you told. Such thing as Ranch Dressing for pizza, fries, chicken, etc have been used for many time. People use mustard and ketchup on burger so I though this should be more "unusual" cooking.

Ah, glad to hear that Zabuza...

I was thinking that it may be related to sunlight I didn't recieved in my own bedroom and sometime, the air condictionning make my room too cool and I kinda get tired after staying in my bedroom for a while. It is cool and dark in there, and the binder can either darken the room or lighten them. And I was also thinking about how coldness can affect you to make you feel tired.

And I just remember that I am a heavy sleeper, the only things that bother me the most are light so I guess I got what Zabuza said "nocturnal". So this won't affect my life that much, Zabuza? My mother is making a huge deals about it...
