You may hate the end though... and avoid the Lady Penitent series until you finish or else spoilers will abound. As for me, I finished Pox Americana and I have to say I am very impressed with it and recommend it to everyone interested in American history. I've also started reading the above mentioned Lady Penitent series by Lisa Smedman and am eagerly awaiting my spring break so that I can get back to reading Winter's Heart (book 9 in the Wheel of Time series if I remember correctly). It's been sitting in my car forgotten since January. I also am finishing up The History of Sexuality by Michel Foucault (Foo-coh, he's French). It is interesting and all... talks about how Victorian repression of sex really just spawned new ways to talk about it so we are really not all that repressed. It does have a tendency to make your eyes gloss over though. |
