Uh...yeah...its done all the time at school (I'm not concerned that this is not school, I'm using this as an example). You are given a topic and a side (it doesn't matter whether you believe in that side or not) you have to gather information for it. A "debate" may be what you believe in, but if you can't find any information based on your belief...then you really are screwed. How are you going to get people to believe your side of the story if there's no information on it?
You think I like the way it's done in schools? Hey, news flash buddy, I don't like it at all, and I think it's a load of bullshit. So, hey, there went that comparison! But I'll elaborate.

So what if it's a test of how you can gather and present information? If you're arguing for something you don't believe in, you will not have NEARLY as much motivation or desire to do such. It'd be like me arguing for the existence of God - yes, I could try to find the information, but would I really want to?

(heh, we're debating about debates)

First off, isn't it digestive 'tract'? Second, last I checked asthma had NOTHING to do with the digestive system, and it was entirely in the respiratory. Having had it all my life, I think I'd notice, and I think a doctor would say something even if I hadn't.

Memory loss? I think he suffered some blunt trauma to his head at some point if he thinks your brain is in your stomach. =/

Alzhaimer's? MS? Now he's really pulling things out of his ass.

Vandal Hearts, Front Mission 3 - both are turn-based strategy games, the former a medieval-ish setting (and with some pretty bad graphics, but...), and the latter more futuristic with big mechs you can customize.

Advice - Mario Party 4, bad idea. =/ The game bored the hell out of me, and most of the minigames were either luck or buttonmashing. But, hey, if that's your thing...

His ultimate weapon is Death Penalty. You must visit Lucrecia on Disc 2, and return later for Death Penalty and his ultimate Limit Break, Chaos.

Peacemaker's a pretty low-grade weapon for him, actually... I dunno what the hell you ere thinking there.

I don't get it.

Even on my first account, I never cleared level 42 (Zenelly, L42 Zealot/Rangerdin Hybrid, custom build with no input other than "Bows are useless for a Paladin!"). And I see allt hese people with MULTIPLE characters over 60, 70, 80, even 90 sometimes.

Characters are Chibot (as it turns out, Zenelly was taken. ) and CalinSilvereye (Elemental Druid, just for fun)... but I almost never play, and now that I think of it Chibot may hav ebeen deleted. Shame, too. He had a good axe.

Xeo, uh... don't mix strategy RPGs with turn-based. The only real similarity is that both are turn-based; everything else is very different. Play FFT, then play FFIIIj, and tell me the battle system is similar. And I thought BoF had turn-based, not Active... maybe that's just the first ones...

That point aside for a moment...

Real-time would be second, if you had seperated the two types of turn-based like I stated above. Since you hadn't, my dislike for standard turn-based counters my love of FFT, FM3, and Vandal Hearts, and pulls Turn-based to second.

Active is Turn Based, mainly being Final Fantasy and say Final Fantasy Tactics. But, Active just has you on one screen, and you just select commands for your small group of characters. The problem is that you used "Turn-based", which simply implies something like FF1-3, and BoF1 and 2 (IIRC), which are quite clearly not Active and quite clearly turn-based. The primary problem was solely in your choice of words and the fact that I've never played neither Phantom Brave nor Arc the Lad.

Alright, that's it. I wanted someone else to say it since I have nothing to say about the topic at hand, but let me give you a rough comparison.

A previously convicted murderer gets released from prison. The first thing he does is kill one of the witnesses with a steak knife. When questioned by the authorities, his response was simple.

"I was convicted in the past. You should expect it."


Effectively, that's what you're trying to do. You are trying to defend being an asshole now with the fact that you have been one in the past. I realize my example may have been a bit extreme, but it should get the point across.

Last I checked, they didn't use Active Time Battle to refer to anything pre-FFIV, but whatever. That doesn't even affect BoF1 and 2, seeing as those weren't made by Square last I checked... Additionally, I've seen MULTIPLE magazines refer to games playing similarly to SMRPG, FF1-3, and BoF1-2 as Turn-based, while Active Time Battle is used exclusively for FF games - or in comparison to FF games, and even that's rare.

Those that I feel like explaining:

1. Better than drugs.

2. Minus the anime.

5. I prefer to think of it as getting my mind off the monotony of life.

13. My handwriting has been terrible for as long as I can remember. Mom thinks that perhaps I was originally left-handed but forced (by grandmother I lived with) to use my right. This would explain how I've picked up the ability to do so many things left-handed with relative ease.

34. They are, actually, RPs (which might be even MORE of an indication I RP too much), so I'm not sure if it counts.

44. I used to move a lot. In fact, I'm waiting for the next time we move. I never expect to stay in one place long, so I almost never bother trying to make friends that I'm just gonna lose a few months later. It's a cycle that's been repeating itself since I was seven. There's a chance that this has screwed me up more than anyone could anticipate, since I used to get rather attached to people... still do, sometimes... So really, it's more a matter of having less friends offline than it is of having more online, if that makes sense.

An Other option. Some people liked SMB2. It wasn't my favorite, but I enjoyed it... that'd also cover games you never heard of.
