It sort of reminds me of the situation with the Scottboro boys where these two women claimed they were raped by this group of black men whom they did not know, and had never met. They were all charged and put on death row, for fuck's sake. And people wonder why so many girls aren't taken seriously when they talk about being molested or raped.  |

| A ton of my friends are stoners.
I could never date someone who indulges in it, though. I mean, Brandon did before we dated, but I don't think I could stay with him if he did it at all. I dunno. There's a shadiness to smoking it, and though I don't mind when my friends smoke it in the same room I'm in, I just think it's silly and juvenile, really. Most of the people I know who smoke it are over 35 and they act like freakin' 8-year-olds not getting enough ice cream and candy when they smoke it (like they get all giddy and need more) and they're always so pissed and irritable when they aren't high. |

| Some of my writers on the paper are getting all huffy about not being able to smoke their medicinal marijuana on campus. For the record, Southern California is practically Amsterdam with how many dispensaries we have and most people who have medicinal marijuana cards do not need the weed for medical reasons.
Anyway, these writers are all, "How come people can shoot up insulin at the health center, but I can't use my medicine?"
Then they bitch about there being rules about smoking within 25 feet of a building being prohibited. To be honest, too many stoners come off like cry-babies to me. Now as for legalization, it would benefit the justice system in that many people in prisons these days are there for drugs, especially marijuana, be it selling or using. By decriminalizing pot, it would make it so users of it wouldn't take up space in prison, making it so murderers and rapists wouldn't be let out early due to over-crowding. At the same time, by making all these things illegal it lines the pockets of so many bad people who can get these things to the public--Colombian drug cartels, terrorists, gangs, etc. Really, if it were made legal, so many people would get bored with weed so quickly. | I suppose there are a few things. I'm not really into Dj-altered pop, but I actually really like the Speedy Cake version of Caramelldansen. While it is annoying that it's overplayed at conventions with people doing the dance from the Internet meme, I'm still quite partial to the song.

| I think I've come to prefer Safari, but what pisses me off about it is how it keeps opening new windows as opposed to tabs with several things despite the tabs preference being selected.
F-ing annoying. But then again, it doesn't crash constantly on me like Firefox does. Weird. |

One of the assistant editors got thrown out the bar the other night 'cause three guys threw him up against the wall and started dry-humping him. I interviewed Thomas Jane last night. He was barefoot, chewing on a cigar, and funny as hell. His Southern accent makes him so damn hot too. |

| So it was an interesting weekend. Interviewed Seth Green, Thomas Jane, two of the Robot Chicken writers (one of them being a co-creator of "Freshmen"), and a couple comic book marketing people. Good stuff.
Watched Wonder Woman sing "I Touch Myself" and hung out at a party full of comic book artists hanging out drinking and drawing. |
