| Signal always sucks for us because of all of the buildings around us blocking it. Seriously, if you shift position while sitting it can be enough to cause it to lose signal. The picture looks a bit better when it is coming in good, but that is about it since more often than not the screen is black with the "signal strength too low" message. Luckily we don't watch enough tv for it to matter to us. I'm sure if we actually had cable it would be better, but meh. | ||||||

| While it is weird that Michael Jackson is dead, I was sick of hearing about it about half an hour after it happened. Notice here that no one has said anything about Fawcett dying other than Rogue? Media is doing the same thing... she's become an afterthought. She died of cancer... she made a documentary of her struggle! And what does she get? "Oh, she died the same day as M.J., oh poor M.J......"
Seriously, the White House issued condolences to the Jackson family, but what about the families of Ed McMahon, Farrah Fawcett, and David Carradine? Where are their Presidential condolences? Jackson was talented back in the day, but so were these three, yet they get forgotten. What amused me most yesterday though, ranting aside, was that people where putting flowers on the wrong Michael Jackson star on the Walk of Fame (there is also a British broadcaster who got a star with that name). Oh, silly, silly people. |

| Yeah. It was ridiculous. CNN dropped coverage of all actual news to talk about the whole thing. It pissed me off to be honest.

| Yep, that is right, another one dropped dead. This time it was master pitchman and potential sociopath Billy Mays (the OxiClean guy). They don't know exactly how he died, but he was found dead earlier today. There is speculation that it could be tied to a head injury he received recently from stuff falling on his head during a landing in which the plane blew it's front tires, causing a heck of a lot of bumps.
Sadly, my first thought on hearing this... other than "wtf is with all the celebrity deaths?" was wondering if this means that the ShamWOW guy is going to replace him on his show Pitchmen. |

| A bit much... but in some ways I agree.
What I keep finding funny is people talking about how great he was and how good his music was but the most recent thing that I hear them playing is "Bad". Maybe once I heard Black or White... so yeah, I don't think there was a single song past 1992. But yeah, Oni and WhiteRose called me with a few jokes the day it happened. "What is the deterioration rate of plastic?" "I dunno, what is it?" "Ask Michael Jackson in 100 years" rofl But yeah. It doesn't help when news casters are saying how he "touched the world" and your mind adds to that "one little boy at a time" |

| Why is North Korea provoking us? Isn't that kind of stupid? Yes, let's provoke the country with the huge military and lots of bases nearby, and on top of that, let's do it in a way that will have the rest of the world pissed at us as well so they will all gang up on us. Oh yeah, great idea.

I mean, I don't care about Michael Jackson dying. I really didn't care for him while he was alive but the shit they say about him there is a bit much. Adulterous? Explain? I don't remember stories about him cheating on a wife or girlfriend or whatever. Nationality-confused? No, I'm pretty sure he was always American, no doubt about that. If they had said ethnicity-confused I might have agreed... and I can see what they were trying for with gender-confused but overall it really is a bit harsh. I highly doubt it will be ignored. Just like I disagree that Obama is a pacifist. However, since we already have a war in Iraq and Afghanistan left over from the Bush years I highly think it would be smart to NOT open a third warfront. Ever heard of stretched too thin? If we can solve this without declaring war on them then good. Honestly, the rest of the world might actually take care of the problem for us since North Korea is currently pissing off everybody. |

But yeah, I am sorry that you got stuck working on your birthday. I fucking hate when that happens. Same with class on your birthday, but that one isn't as bad unless you have an exam or a paper due (I hate my teachers by the way). But yeah, provided my schedule stays the same, looks like I'm working on my birthday again this year as well. All bitching aside though, I give a hearty welcome into the drinking world with the caution of don't overdo it and become an alcoholic or I will drive over there and kick your butt, and to go out and enjoy yourself with friends on one of those days off that you get. | I'm sorry, but the new Harry Potter movie sucked... it was the longest highlight reel ever with almost no explanation and they did things that were not in the books at all. Also, explain how the Christmas scene looks like it was shot in mid-august. But yeah, everyone I know that has seen it was disappointed in it.
Sherlock looks really cool, as does 9 and Inglorious Bastards. I also want to see Moon, but I need to figure out when it will be a theater near here. But yeah, even the so so movies will be good for me this year, since there is an AMC near my house and they have all movies are $5 if you go before noon on weekends. |
