We went hiking to this shipwreck. Boulder-hopping the whole way with the sun in our faces for a few miles. I practically twisted my ankle along the way. There was no shelter, just the cliff we're walking along, lots and lots and LOTS of rocks, and the ocean.
I was horribly dehydrated, no sun screen, my phone died and Brandon's was dying. We get to the shipwreck and it's getting really, really dark. I could barely walk any more. I was really dizzy, in pain, and I was starting to panic not being able to see straight, especially not in the dark. We'd either end up trying to wait out where we were through the night, or try and figure our way out in the dark, which would be impossible. We pressed on even though I was about ready to cry. I mean, my head and chest felt like they were going to explode and we come across these surfers standing in the dark, with their boards and we saw them smoking. Like guardian angels they not only gave us water, but guided us up the cliff, partially carrying me and pulling me up along the way. Then they gave us a ride to our car. Thank you, Sean and Sean, wherever you are now. Seriously, we asked for their addresses to send them something, maybe take them to dinner, but they refused. My parents were quite disappointed to hear that because they wanted to thank them as well. |

I'm really looking forward to Gretchen getting killed off. Ever since Claire's roommate got killed off, she's been so obnoxious.
I definitely want to see more of that doctor who was counseling Sylar's body, though. I hope she gets to stick around. Not that into the tattoo girl, though. Samuel's interesting. Do want to see more of Ray Park. Overall not a bad volume. |

I'm thoroughly enjoying my furlough week. No work or school Tuesday-Thursday making it practically another fall break (since we get the entire week Thanksgiving's in off). Went hiking yesterday and today, and laid out on a blanket at the beach at 1 a.m. watching the meteor shower.
Just wish I wasn't broke. Since we have furloughs, school is pretty much shut down and I have no idea when I'm getting my paycheck. Not sure what I'm going to do tomorrow, but Friday I have to be on a panel for aspiring journalists. Hooray. Work will be interesting next week when most of the staff is going to a writing convention in Texas. Lightswitch rave! |

Yep, this volume is definitely kicking some ass. It's really bringing back the spirit of season 1, and so far it's been deviating from the same old formula (bad thing is painted, someone goes into future to confirm bad thing will happen, Nathan presumed dead, things work out .. sort of) which is excellent.
Good deal. |

Well, it's official. Somehow Backstreet Boys found themselves back in current pop culture, leading to my creation of this post.
They really need to give up the ghost already. The new sound is a lot like Katy Perry. And that's definitely not a good thing. Ugh.. "Straight Through My Heart" |

Yep. It's funny watching these surrounded by people all stoned and tripping.
Marty found them a couple years back when he heard them on the radio in the Inland Empire. He couldn't figure out why the music didn't quite sound like guitars and looked the band up online. Pretty neat. |

It's horrifying what people can get away with (with or without law enforcement in the vicinity).
For some reason, this brought up memories of talking with teens about rape. On two occasions the phrase, "I don't see what the big deal is ... you got to have sex" came up. I don't know if this is a degeneration of society or what, but the fact that it was a bunch of teens is no less shock and terrifyingly unsurprising in this day and age. But seriously, though, gang-raped for two hours at a homecoming? Yeah, more than a handful of people need to serve some time. |

I always thought it was amusing that they were more saying "B-Atari" than "Battery." (Last edited by Rogue on 11-08-09 03:01 PM) |

I'm actually really looking forward to Thanksgiving. We get the whole week off school, and I'm heading out-of-state to spend time with the boyfriend's family. Good stuff.

I can't believe it, but U2's "Mysterious Ways" found its way into being a post here.
I used to love the song ... nearly 20 years ago. I had a single of it and played it constantly. Anyway, haven't heard the song in like 15 years. Every time I go to this Mexican restaurant near my university that song is playing there. Not a problem. It was welcoming for a while. Then I noticed it playing at other restaurants. It came on at every different place I went to, it's even found its way onto the music rotation at a couple of the bars. So yeah ... I'm sick of it. |

Originally posted by Stitch It's not a bad song, it's just overplayed. It and the Katy Perry song were just trading off getting played everywhere I went over the summer. Good grief. Between the two, though, Hot N Cold was the more repetitive and obnoxious. Nothing really new to add this week. Other than to taunt each other in the office people start singing that "Meet Me Halfway" song at each other. |

Well, I guess gas for the trip home from out-of-state counts as a necessity. So I dunno. I wish I could buy a PS3.
How did you spend Thanksgiving? If you aren't American, does your country have a Thanksgiving-like holiday? (Last edited by Rogue on 11-30-09 10:51 AM) |

Happy making it to being a quarter of a century old.
Hope you're doing something fun other than work and class today. |

Congratulations!
Are you going to get different rings on Jan. 2 too? I think you should keep the smilies. |
