Just now, I turned to Brandon and said, "Hey, Clint Eastwood... he just turned 80."
"I thought you were going to say he died..." I think I'd be really upset if he died, but damn, so many celeb deaths are setting some of us on edge apparently. |

The women to the left of my house: Despite them saying that it's one woman living there with a lodger, everyone is pretty certain they're lesbians (they dress and look A LOT alike and drive trucks and have short mullet-like hair, etc.). And they're drama teachers. They have the makings of being awesome neighbors, but for a few crucial elements. They are tattle-taling, hypocritical super-cunts.
All we ever hear out of them is negative comments about other neighbors, or they call the city on people. In the past they've told my parents when I've had people over (they threw a fit when I had a party and people were standing on our roof), they've complained every week since they moved in about our house being too noisy (they supposedly could hear me talking to people when we'd be sitting in my room with the window closed), and they've called the city when I had a fan in the window on really hot summer days because it looks tacky. They've called the city whenever people paint their house a non-earth tone color, since our city has a law against other colors. They call the city if someone's dog barks too much. They call the city if there are oil stains on someone's driveway. They call the city if someone's tree drops too much flowers, seeds, pods, etc. And annoyingly, the city takes every single violation seriously. They painted part of their house a dark purple (it's been unfinished for years). The city has come in and told them to paint their house and they've pretty much told them to fuck off. What the hell, Cerritos? They also love to spread gossip and spread rumors like disease. A few years back when my cat disappeared, they also had a cat go missing, as did another cat in the neighborhood. They started spreading rumors that the new Asian family who moved in behind them was the ones who took them. To this day, it still makes me ache inside to think about my missing cat, especially in such a scenario. Anyway... yeah, that's them. The other neighbors around aren't so bad. The family behind us are Egyptian and talk VERY loudly to one another (the alleged lesbians have called the police on their dogs barking a couple times). Seems like they're almost always fighting about something. But around the holidays they leave bundles of cookies on the back wall for us. I miss some of the people in the neighborhood, who've either moved out or died. Mrs. Sato was REALLY cool -- she was this elderly Japanese lady who used to love just talking with me and would bring over sweets and little gifts from time to time. She had a koi pond in her backyard and a bridge and a waterfall. She passed away a few years ago and her daughter's family lives there now. (Last edited by Rogue on 06-01-10 01:20 PM) |

So, the show's been canceled. After the way, the last volume ended -- with Claire pretty much being a media whore -- I really don't know what to feel.
Sylar and Peter had really grown. |

Wow, Katana. Take out the red flounce and we had exactly the same school uniform at that age. Ah, plaid blue jumpers. I definitely don't miss those.

Yeah, Obadiah was a stronger villain without the suit since he was all intrigue and backstabbing.
I actually don't know much about the Iron Man comics. Everything I know about him comes from cartoons and the animated movies Marvel's been putting out. So I can't really pick out a better villain I'd like to see Tony take on for #3. Chances are an Avengers movie would come out before a third sequel even sees the light of day. |

It seems the only way to kill healers like Claire is to sever the brain from the rest of the body so it doesn't give the signal to heal. Then again, she went through what might equate to a nuclear explosion in "Company Man" which probably would have cooked her brain, and it all still regenerated.
I really liked Claire in first season. Then I kept wanting to see her get killed off. But keeping her in a state of constantly drowning sounds fun. |

This passed weekend was BUSY.
Went to two conventions (Los Angeles Rock'n Comic Con and Gamex), plus Voidcrush had a show Saturday and we had to go to a film festival where their music video was being screened Sunday night. The Croatian festival Sunday afternoon was also complete food overload. Was still able to do some light hiking at the tidepools and Griffith Park between those things. Spent yesterday and now today cleaning my room. I still can't believe there's a floor in here. EDIT: I rolled down the stairs in GIGANTIC blob of laundry last night. There's a photo somewhere of me trying to get the densely packed mass through the bottom and just laying on top of all of it. (Last edited by Rogue on 06-02-10 01:28 PM) |

I think the deal with Peter healing was because he had that nuclear power. Whenever Ted went Chernobyl, he was all right afterward. Since Nathan was right on Peter when he was about to blow and he didn't share that power or healing he ended up needing the healer's blood to be mended.
As for off-switch, I think they were playing off when Claire got that stick stuck in her head and seemed dead, just like when Peter had the glass shard up in there. It was all about having the brain in tact. In season 2, with Kinsei, they started saying that a gunshot to the head would kill a healer. I guess if some of the brain matter were removed and the brain wasn't in one piece like if there was just a puncture, it's possible. In terms of HRG and Sylar talking about his special spot and being able to move it because he was a shapeshifter, it got really obnoxious. It seemed like the show started touching on that more and more. The one thing I could NEVER figure out with the show is how Matt somehow got out of things. In season 1, when he talked this guy out of robbing a store, he picked up the gun and everyone thought he was trying to rob them. End scene. Next episode... like it never happened. Same thing with him being framed for having a bomb. It was just buried. I'm still wondering how he got out of the incident when he was trying to commit suicide-by-cop so he could eliminate himself and Sylar in the same body. |

It's funny how many of the places that are talking about this make some crack about how they at least didn't use Dane Cook (who also heavily takes from Louis CK).
You know or Carlos Mencia... |

Sort of. I live in an upstairs room, with the laundry room being downstairs. Rather than pick up everything in several basketloads we just threw everything onto the stairs to roll it all down in one gargantuan heap.
Thing is, the pile was HUGE. Like I couldn't move most of it and ended up having to fall on the hillock just to get it moving. The pile now takes up a quarter of our breakfast nook and it's 4-feet high. (Last edited by Rogue on 12-27-10 12:10 PM) |

When this broke on the broadcast edition yesterday, I ended up sitting through 3/4 of the show waiting for them to talk about this. They kept saying it was coming up in the rundown and then putting less important or interesting things first. Gah! They didn't even give this more than a couple seconds like, "Oh yeah this happened today. Yeah, odd. That's it. Next topic." This sort of thing should be top story, Los Angeles! Anyway, crazy, huh? WHAT THE HELL?! First we've got a porn star slashing people up with a samurai sword, now this? The world's gone crazy. On an unrelated note someone I was acquainted with in high school was arrested earlier this week for dismembering a couple people and leaving their bodies in a local park. Last we heard he's in a coma right now after trying to kill himself. (Last edited by Rogue on 06-03-10 10:59 PM) |

More and more photos keep popping up with the victim sitting at his computer with a cat. There's two that have been added if you click the above link and one here:
Poor guy, really. |

So I was just looking up a book at my library (which wasn't there, so I have to freaking ILL it. ARGH), and noticed that "Saving Charlie" came up in a search. If I remember right, the story was supposed to take place in season 1 where Hiro was getting close to Charlie and was trying to prevent her from being killed by Sylar in the future, only to discover that there are just some things he can't change, especially since she had the inoperable tumor in her brain and would die anyway.
I still haven't read the book, but after this past season, would there really be a point? |

While I doubt this will directly affect most of you, McDonald's is recalling all of the Shrek glasses they have been selling in promotion of the new movie. They contain cadmium.

When I came back to this story earlier today, I half smirked to myself and went, "Kali ma, Kali maaaa."
I know it's really insensitive to laugh or mock the dead, but you just have to or else you let it get to you and it drives you crazy. |

Joe Rogan is something of an anomaly to me. Most of us first saw him on "Fear Factor" and thought he was just some short, total square guy hosting yet another reality/game show.
I remember seeing him guest on "Just Shoot Me" while he was doing the show. He played this idiot that Maya slept with or something. Then suddenly there he is tearing down Mencia and going on the radio to rave about how great psychedelics are. (Last edited by Rogue on 06-05-10 12:03 AM) |
