| If your doctors don't want you doing it, have them give you something you can do. I may not be an expert on this, but I don't think they want you to veg out on the couch after that. You need to make your heart stronger again. Just make sure to pace yourself, maybe consult a personal trainer to see if they have some suggestions for things you can do that are not too taxing. | |||

| Yeah, I got called that last year. Granted I haven't gone that into their past but I know who Mario Lemieux is, and how he got to own the team. I know most of the current players (still trying to catch up with the newer ones), I have one degree of separation from Brooks Orpik (chiropractor is a friend of his).
The main thing that really sucks is that since I live in southern California we really don't get that much hockey coverage unless you have cable, which we don't. They don't broadcast any hockey games on network television until the Winter Classic, and then one game a week after that until the finals. I don't even know if they show all of the finals (I was in the Pittsburgh area for most of the finals last year). It makes it really hard to follow all of the games and what is going on. Speaking of the Winter Classic, did you hear what they are doing for 2011? Pens vs Caps in Pittsburgh, baby! I will find a way to go to this game or die trying! |

| I saw Avatar in IMAX 3D and in a normal theater and while the 3D was cool I honestly thought the effects looked just fine both ways.

| See, Ben had that idea two years ago just because we started dating and he wanted to share it with me. So we watched a game... I believe it was the last game of the eastern conference championship and it was Flyers vs Penguins. My initial reaction was "there is a hockey team called the penguins?" And I rooted for them on principle, then I kept rooting for them because they were good. They won, went on to lose to Detroit and I began to hate the Red Wings. Anyway, I now hate MTV even more, but it is not like the industry takes their awards seriously. The movies are horrible, the plot is something I could have pulled out of my ass in five minutes... though Meyers went too far with the sparkle thing (not touching the baseball bullshit). I found the first movie hilarious with rifftrax... the first time you watch it. Haven't seen the latest travesty yet. |

Also, American Gods by Neil Gaiman. The Diskworld novels. Anything by Lovecraft, and also perhaps the unofficially named 'Pendergast novels" by Douglas Preston and Lincoln Child (starting with Relic). Do you read high fantasy style fiction? You know, stuff like the Wheel of Time? |

Anywho, I wish I had your adventures Rogue. Um... let's see. -I got my BA (whoo!) -Bought the complete and unabridged works of H.P. Lovecraft (I'm about 1/4 way in) -Got into sci-fi novels finally -Worked for the Census Bureau -Via such work got access to a condominium that used to be a Masonic Temple, gathered data on it and might have an article published. (glee) -Finally gave Boston's Gourmet Pizza a try and discovered it is a fairly decent place -Dyed my hair auburn instead of black or black cherry. -Spent $100 on shoes (broke down and got Shape Ups) -Went to the Birdcage Coffee House down the road, really nice place. -Went on a houseboat trip on Lake Mohave -Went to Laughlin, NV for the first time -Got my first smartphone (Motorola Backflip... still not sure if it was worth it) -Held an Athenian Owl (coin) from the 5th century BCE in my hand -Tried lemoncello (yum) -Tried Metaxa (a Greek liquor that is basically wine and brandy, also yum) -Learned about a distinct culture of central America known as the Garifuna. |
